Boarding School Prologue
A woman the age of 17 put the last bit of clothing in her suitcase. She locked the suitcase up and sighed. Her blonde hair fell over her shoulders and tears started up in her crystal-blue eyes.
“Serena?” her grandmother came in and saw her granddaughter on the verge of crying while leaning over suitcases. “Come here child.”
Serena went into her grandmother’s open arms and cried on her shoulder.
“You know you have to be strong before you leave here,” her grandma said. “Remember what I told you, take one look back then look forward to your future.”
Serena came out of the comfort of her grandmother’s arms and wiped her eyes with the back of her hands. “You’re right,” she said. “I have to be strong and have to go through with this.”
“Good,” Grandma said, “I’ll be downstairs when you are ready to go.”
“Okay.” Serena went back to closing her suitcases with the rest of her things. After putting some of her stuff downstairs, she went back into her room to grab her backpack. She walked to the door and looked behind her one last time.
“Time to leave this home and go to a new one,” she said to herself. “A new life as well.” She closed the door without looking back at her old life.
