Ch 1
“ Amon, Sakaki, green” chief Kosaka yelled from Zaizen\'s old office. The three called quickly entered the ce. ce. “ Amon, I want you to take to your contacts, there is buzz about a new witch in Japan, by the name of Phoenix, she has a huge coven, several witches, with powers unknown to HQ. find out all you can” Amon nodded and exited to call his contact—Nagira in private. “ hey wait Amon” green Amon new partner called behind him.amon completely ignored her. “ chief I have been his partner since he got back last year and he still wont even bring me along, I always have to go with Sakaki”

Sakaki looked up to the mention of his name “ what, do we have to go on a hunt” the chief glared at Sakaki “ you two will be picking up father Juliano from the air port in an hour, he has business in Japan.” Green did not look at all happy with her job, Sakaki didn’t really care. They both went back to their station. “shit“ green said as she sat down, seeing that her partner Amon was no place in sight.

Miho looked up from a file she was reading, none of the other hunters were very found of Tish green, Michael described her best. “ Tish is a bitch”. Still Miho felt somewhat sorry for the 23 year old craft user. Tish could control electric waves, but only control it not produce it , when they went on hunts she had to strap an open charge to her arm. “ Tish, soon or later Amon will warm up to you, he has just had a hard time” Tish stood up “ god Karasuma, that robin girl or what ever her name is died over a year ago, I think he should have been able to get over his last partner by now”

Every one in the office stiffened from the mention of robins name, Tish didn’t notice or didn’t care. Michael hated Tish, he couldn’t stand her, because Amon always left her behind he was left with her to hear her nagging, and complaining. Tish was a hunter transported from America, when the stn-j had tracked Amon down three months after the factory was destroyed, the first thing they asked was where was robin. When Amon said she was dead, that she had been crushed in the factory orders went to HQ that there star hunter needed a new partner.

Michael shuddered, he refused to believe robin was dead. He hoped that Amon was just covering for her, that she was living some where happily in the out skirts of Italy or Japan. A month after Amon had returned to the stn-j Michael found him alone in harries. * now or never* Michael thought to him self as he sat down next to Amon. Amon didn’t look up he just stared at his cup of coffee. “ is she really gone Amon” Michael asked sadly, not really wanted the answer but knowing he had to hear it.

Amon had convinced him self that she was dead, crushed by falling rubble, crushed because she saved his life. “ yes, Michael, she is” Amon sad still not looking up from his cup. “ but you didn’t see her body, no one has found it” Michael said with hope. “ Michael, I have told myself that a billion times, but if she was alive, wouldn’t we have found some evidence that she was alive, I don’t see why she would not try and contact me, if she were alive. She’s only a child, she would need a place to stay, food new clothes.” Amon’s voice cracked and his breathing stiffened. Michael wondered if Amon was fighting back tears.

Michael shook his head. “ I understand Amon, thank you from telling me” Michael stood and left from his apartment, now convinced robin had died in the factory. * if Amon believes it, then it has to be true* Michael cried him self to sleep that night as did Amon. That was close to a year ago, and still Amon had not recovered from the lose of his young partner robin. Every one in the office wondered if he had fallen in love with her. Dojima said that it would make more sense for the way he was acting “ he didn’t just lose a partner, he lost a friend, a lover, and his soul mate” Dojima said shortly after Amon’s return.

Every one had taken the news very hard, they all loved robin. And now to have her replaced, with an arrogant bitch like Tish green, makes work just a little harder. Michael came back to his sense when he saw Amon reenter the office. Amon went to his desk and grabbed something from inside his desk and started to leave. “ a-Amon “ Michael said a little afraid to stop Amon. Amon turned to the hacker. Michael was still not use to Amon’s eyes. Unlike before, now they reflected the over whelming sadness and guilt Amon felt over robins death.

“ yes Michael” Amon said his with his normal iced over tone. “ there is more info on those two hunters who disappeared from STN-E ( England), it turns out that the disappeared after having a confrontation of some sort with a coven leader named Phoenix, they presume the witch killed them, but there is no evidence of their death.” Amon’s eyes raised “ a run in with the phoenix, Michael I want you to find every thing you can about this witch” Amon looked at the two hunters pictures on the screen, man and women, one was a craft user the other your basic hunter. Michael shook his head “ I will do that”

Amon again headed out the door “ Amon im coming with you” Amon growled under his breath and continued out the door. “ that ass hole” Tish yelled after him “ the nerve of him, im just as good as he is” Dojima started to bust out laughing. Tish glared at her, but shut up non the less. Sasaki stood up a few minutes later “ we should get to the air port, Tish” Tish said something under her breath and grabbed her coat.

Amon drove quickly to Nagira’s law firm, he was glad to be away from the office, as much as he did like going to his brothers anything was better then hearing Tish mundane attempts of having Amon wait for her. Each time she would protest his leaving he would be reminded of how he had ignored robin those first few days. * idiot* Amon’s mind screamed to him self. * you’re an idiot for even thinking about her, and from ignoring her* his inner voice yelle him him. * how was I to know, I would have so little time with her* Amon said back.

Nagira was waiting for has little brother out side, Nagira’s contacts had filled him with info on this new coven leader. “ find anything out” Amon asked when he reached his brother “ oh yeah, turns out the phoenix has been linked to hundreds of murders even more world wide, she’s quite the busy little beaver” Nagira laughed at his own joke “ well when I asked around in the walled city, some seamed really scared others were proud to talk about her. They would say her name with pride, like she is a god or something, well anyway from what I found out, she is not a coven leader, and the witches under her aren’t all witches, their was even a rumor that she had Solomon agents with her”

Amon thought back to what Michael had told him * the two hunters disappeared after they had a run in with the phoenix, maybe she can control minds.* Amon nodded, Nagira went on “ well I asked around, and no one could tell me what this withes power was, but one guy I talked to her said he had actually meet her, he was not very giving with the details but he said when he was in America she saved his live a bunch of other people as well. He made her out to be some kind of hero” “ if she has murdered so many then why are we just now hearing about her now” Amon asked him self “ maybe she’s new to Japan” Nagira interjected.

Amon huffed and thanked his brother as kindly as he could. He was half way back to ravens flat when Michael called him [ Amon, I found out some interesting about this witch, turns out that each time she and her coven will murder is when there is a group of people, one case it was two hundred people, only ten were unharmed, three were witches rest not, they all claimed that they had protected them from the other people, one girl was quoted “ the others at the rave started to change, they began to try and eat us, they started to smell horrible like rotted meat, I would have been eaten for shore had she not sliced its head off” the girl how was quoted was a witch so Solomon put little head into her testimony. In each case it appears that the party is held under the same name, the same person is running the show, do you think that this guy..whats his name, Benicio could be who this witch is after.” Michael was out of breath “ what did you find on Benicio” Amon asked while absorbing what Michael had told him “ nothing, not a thing…its strange really” “ keep looking, have Sakaki and green returned with father Juliano” “ I will, and yeah a few minutes ago, I think something big is happening” Amon hung up when he pulled into ravens flat.

When he sat down, he made the mistake of glancing over at Tish “ have fun Amon” he really didn’t like her “ yes I did” he said smugly “ Dojima and Michael started to laugh, and Amon heard Sakaki say something like good one Amon. It only raised Amon’s sprits for a second. Juliano came out of Kosaka office, the chief right behind him “ every one into the conference room” he demanded. Each walked to their place and sat it was Juliano who headed the meeting.

“ head quarters have just become aware of two very dangerous witches in Japan, a witch and her coven by the name of the phoenix as well as another his name is Benicio, both witches are coven leaders each with unknown crafts, the exact number of both covens is unknown. Phoenix is estimated to have around twenty with her, and two smaller branches led by her second and third in command, Benicio numbers did range in the thousands but now no more then two hundred” Dojima could not help but ask “ did phoenix and her coven kill all the others” Juliano nodded yes. “ I have it on good authority that Benicio is throwing another gathering of his coven, it is safe to assume that the phoenix with make an appearance, I want you two infiltrate the party, to mainly observe, but if havoc does break out then I want both leaders brought down, alive if possible, especially Benicio.” Juliano finished with “ any questions” their weren’t any.

Amon started to stand “ Amon may I have a word with you”, Juliano asked. Amon followed Juliano down to the well. Amon had flash backs of robin, tears in her eyes begging him to come with her. * idiot, you should have kissed her and ran away with her, she would be alive now* his inner voice screamed to him. “ its been a long time Amon, I haven’t talked to you since we tracked you down, how have you been” Amon realized he hated this man, hated him because he had fooled him in thinking robin was dangerous, hated him for ever bringing robin into his life “ I have been fine” father smiled “ im told that you have not been bringing your partner along on hunts and the like, why not” Amon said nothing, but Juliano already knew

“ I see, tell me Amon, the three months you were on the run what did you do” “ I wasn’t on the run, I was looking for her” Amon could not bear to say her name. it was the truth, from the day he made it out of the factory he never stopped searching for her, he had traveled all over Japan, Italy, and all of Europe, he followed leads that did not exist. “ my poor grand daughter, I do not remember you being at her funeral, it was held after you returned to you rightful place as a hunter.” “ I couldn’t make it” Amon said coldly.

Amon truly hated this man. Juliano saw that the conversation was over and dismissed Amon. Amon walked back up to the office. Amon had just sat down when Michael squealed with delight “ I found a picture of Benicio” every one crowded around Michael’s computer. Benicio looked around 18, he was white, not just white but pale, he had short chestnut hair and dark green eyes. Michael as did Amon notice that he had the same green pools as did robin. “ he looks so young” Miho said. “ yeah” Sakaki added.
