YuukiSan: No one here actually owns Fruits Basket...So you can\'t try and sue me...

Chapter 1
It was the perfect day. The sun was shining and warm, a complete opposite to the cold rain of the day before. There was a light breeze in the air and the only noises were the occasional grunt and murmur as Kyou practiced his marital arts in the backyard.
The sun gleamed on the green grass of the spacious yard as well as the dense trees that surrounded the large house. The house and land were owned by a rich Japanese family known as the Sohma’s.
“La la la, food food food, soon soon soon, la la la,” Shigure sang as he bounced onto the porch that ran the complete perimeter of the house, “so much more energetic then yesterday I see, Kyou.”
Kyou glared at him in the middle of a right forward punch then continued with the left as if nothing happened.
“It’s so nice to see that you’re dealing with Tohru seeing your true form so well,” Shigure said completely seriously.
Kyou dropped his arms and took a step forward.
Shigure flashed one of his goofy smiles and bounced away saying “Kyou scary, Kyou scary, Kyou scary!”
Kyou glared at the spot that Shigure had been occupying only seconds before.
It was at that moment Kyou heard the door closest to him slide open. He looked to his right, expecting to see Yuki or someone else that annoyed him, instead he saw Tohru.
His expression turned from annoyance to shock within seconds.
“Lunch is ready,” she said quietly and not meeting his eyes.
Even though she had always been quiet and shy around him, she had been acting a little different.
Acting different ever since she saw his true form.
Kyou knew that she had been able to except him, so he was confused that she would start acting different around him. Especially after telling him that she wanted to be with him and not Yuki.
He was determined to find out if she didn’t say anything soon.
“I’ll be there in a minute,” Kyou said tonelessly
“Oh I thought that you’d need this,” Tohru said as she held out a glass of water.
“Thanks,” he said as he took the water. He looked down at the glass and decided that he couldn’t wait any longer for the answer, “Tohru wait …you said that you wanted to be with me that day by the lake, so why are you acting like you didn’t mean it? If you want to be with me let’s just be together and not care about what other people think. If it’s that stupid mouse your worried about he’ll just have to deal with it!”
“Kyou I didn’t mean it like that! Oh my goodness I’m so sorry! I just … just meant it as friends! I don’t want …” Tohru exclaimed, looking stressed.
“Never mind, I must have misunderstood you”, Kyou replied sharply and turned his back on her.
A moment later he heard the door close and only then did he hang his head and let the tears fall.
