Worlds Collide

Chapter 1- Calamity

Post Battle City-

The duel had been raging for nearly an hour, neither side willing to relinquish a chance at victory. To think the day had started so peacefully was laughable to Yugi, but there it was. He and his friends had been lounging around the shop, enjoying a quiet weekend after all that had taken place during the tournament. The god cards sat in their private case above Grandpa’s counter. Joey had been getting lectured at by Grandpa on the proper timing of traps, while Yugi and Bakura had been browsing through the latest shipment of cards. Grandpa always cracked three boxes for the purpose of displaying and selling the singles, as that was where the majority of the store’s profit came from. Tristan was leaning against the entrance reading the latest mangas, and Tea was playing with the latest electronic gizmo. Her fascination with beeping things never ceased to amaze the guys.

Then Kaiba had come in, delivering an invitation to his next tournament to Yugi. Kaiba was determined to win back the god cards at any cost, and throwing another tournament was the simplest way to do it. Except this time, something went wrong. Kaiba had been exhausted, having not slept in the past few days, his determination to get the next tournament going being more then enough fuel for his body. Now he had found himself in possession of that odd scepter that Marik character had been running around with, and the few times he had tried to get to sleep his dreams had been filled with images of a strange blond girl with blue eyes and scenes of ancient Egypt. As a result, Kaiba was weaker then normal, and it showed in his face.

The ring around Bakura’s neck had sensed this weakness in Kaiba, and Yami-Bakura had leapt at the chance to steal another Millennium Item. Seizing control of his host, he had immediately challenged Kaiba. Never one to run from a fight, no matter how tired he was, Kaiba accepted, and the duel began. That had been more then an hour ago. The shadow game had begun with an ominous start. A black cloud had enveloped Grandpa’s store, and all three items had begun glowing, as they each lent their power into maintaining the game.

Now it looked like Kaiba had victory all wrapped up. His three Blue Eyes were on the field, waiting for the order to attack. Yami-Bakura had managed to negate their damage last turn, but the monsters they had attacked had all been destroyed. Yami-Bakura was helpless, no matter what monster he played. The difference in life was only by a thousand points in his favor, and there was nothing he could play capable of defeating Kaiba. All those watching knew it. The only one who didn’t seem to get the picture was Yami-Bakura, who was grinning like one of the many fiends he had played. Instead, he began to laugh.

“Do you find defeat so amusing that you laugh?” Kaiba demanded.
“Defeat? Who said anything about defeat you pompous oaf?” Yami-Bakura demanded. “In fact, with what I’m holding, this game is far from over!” he cried.
“Then what are you waiting for? Go ahead and play it!” Kaiba taunted. This fool was even more pathetic then Yugi was. At least Yugi had victories to prove his merit.
“Fine then. Watch as I unleash my power!” Yami-Bakura insisted. “I activate Heavy Storm and Raigeki! Now watch Kaiba, watch as your pathetic monsters and cards are swept away by their power! Those two cards you have face down are no help to you now!
“That’s what you think scum. I activate them both. Go Mystical Space Typhoons!” Brought to life by the power of the items, the four storms raced towards each other, the twin typhoons merging into a single awesome twister before they hit. The items began to glow as the storms approached one another, getting brighter as the collision hit. Finally they connected.

The storm ripped through the small confines of the store. Cards and figures whipped around as they were carried on the winds, while stray lightening bolts shattered glass and started small fires. The lights exploded in the charged atmosphere, as the storm sought some way of grounding itself. The rain beat against every one, stinging their exposed skin. All the while the items continued to get brighter and brighter. Yugi watched in horror as a lightening bolt arced and zapped his grandfather. The old man disappeared in a blinding flash. Joey and Tea were next, and then Tristan, Kaiba and Bakura vanished. Time seemed to slow down as Yugi watched a bolt come for him. It struck, and the world turned white for the briefest of moments. Then everything went black. The last thing he had seen was the image of the three god cards, each glowing in bright rainbow colors.

Post Dragonball GT-

Pan was out on patrol when she saw the lightening arc down out of the clear blue sky. She had been heading towards one of the northern villages, where there had been reports of strange monsters appearing out of nowhere and terrorizing the villagers. Her grandpa had thought it had sounded like a good idea for her to look into it, as it might provide her with a bit more training. There had been a lack of good opponents since they had defeated the dragon balls four years ago, and Pan was itching for a good fight, her Saiyan blood demanding combat. While she did train with her father and grandfather and uncles, she knew they were all holding back against her. It made her furious to think they didn’t take her seriously. After all, it had been her to go out four years ago and fight, not Gohan or Goten. Why did they then insist on giving her special treatment? It just wasn’t fair!

Now she had other things to distract her. There was nowhere for that lightening bolt to come from. Which meant something had to of made it. She wanted to know what and why. She increased her speed as she flew to where she had seen it hit. The villagers could wait an extra five minutes while she looked into this. As she flew closer she noticed the impact had left a decent sized crater where it had hit. Something seemed to be stirring deep inside. She landed on the lip of the crater, waiting to see what it was. Probably another alien invader, come to destroy the earth or steal the dragon balls. She had heard all the stories about Frieza and the other Saiyans from her father and family. Hell, Uncle Vegeta still scared the living daylights out of her sometimes. She peered closer as something stood up.

The first thing she noticed was the spiky hair. No one she had ever met quite had hair like that, except for the men in her family and Vegeta. That could only mean one thing: This was a Saiyan. It was odd though, because Uncle Vegeta always insisted there were no Saiyans besides those already living on Earth. He was definitely going to be surprised when he found out he was wrong. It was odd though. The figure down below seemed a bit small to be a Saiyan. On top of that, he was acting really weird. In fact, it sounded like he was talking to himself.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Down in the crater, Yugi was in the middle of a conversation with his Yami self. They were trying to figure out exactly where they were, and where the rest of the group had disappeared. It seemed like the important thing to worry about, as besides being slightly hungry, Yugi was fine. Well, he was talking to himself, but he figured that didn’t quite apply to him normally.

“So any ideas what to do now?” he asked his other self.
“I don’t know. I do not recognize this place.” Pharaoh responded. He glanced about a round them.
“Well then what do you suggest?” Yugi asked.
“Well, we may wish to talk to the young girl up there. She has been watching us for the past few minutes.” Pharaoh had been staring at Pan, curious as to whom she was.
“What young girl?” Yugi turned and looked up all he caught a glimpse of was a head of dark hair ducking down out of sight.
“She seems to not want to be seen. You may wish to get going if you want to find her before she leaves.” Pharaoh suggested. Yugi began to quickly climb the slope. Half way up a thought occurred to him, and he checked the small box on his belt. He sighed, as he saw his cards safe where they belonged.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pan had been listening to the conversation below her and decided it must be another Saiyan coming to invade. He must have been talking on a communicator with some one. Worse, he had a weird energy signature. The stranger himself didn’t seem to have that much power, but just to the side of him there had been an enormous strength. She wondered for a second if some one had found a way to make themselves invisible. The only thing worse then one invader would be two of them! She was just about turn and fly off to get help when she felt a presence behind. Whirling around, she found the stranger standing only a few feet away from her. She immediately fell into a fighting crouch ready to defend herself.

“Hi, I’m-” Yugi began. Before he could finish there was flash of energy as Pan dropped a ki blast at his feet.
“There’s more where that came from buster!” Pan threatened. “And if you beat me my grandpa will take you down!”
“Wait a sec I’m not going to hurt you!” Yugi protested.
“Then tell your friend to turn of the invisibility!” Pan demanded. She charged up for another attack, holding the glowing ball of energy above her head.
“Wait there’s only me here!” Yugi protested.
“Then who were you talking to huh? Besides, I felt his presence! He’s right…” Pan glanced around. She couldn’t feel the presence anymore. “Where’d he go?” she demanded.
“You felt him?” Yugi asked puzzled. There were only a few people who knew of the Pharaoh outside of his friends, and they were all either holders of the other items, or those who had watched over them.
“Ha! So you admit there was some one else!” Pan cried. She had doubted herself for a moment, but now he was admitting it, and that was all that mattered.
“Well, it’s complicated to say the least.” Yugi admitted.
“Just tell me where he went!” Pan demanded. Yugi was beginning to get a bit annoyed. She reminded him of Rebecca when they had first met.
“He hasn’t gone anywhere. He’s still watching us right now.” He tried to explain.
“Then make him show himself!”
“I can’t, no one else can see him but me!” Yugi insisted.
“I don’t believe you!” Pan returned.
“Fine then. Lot of help you are. I need to go find my friends.” Yugi began to walk off when another kid landed in front of him. The boy looked to be about twelve. Yugi stopped for a minute. The kid had most definitely not been there a minute ago, and Yugi hadn’t heard any one approaching.

“Who are you?” he asked.
“My name is Goku. Who are you?” the boy replied.
“My name is Yugi Motou.”
“Pleased to meet you. Are you trying to invade Earth? I’m going to have to stop you if you are!” The little boy announced. Yugi began to wonder if he had hit his head and was dreaming.
“No I am not planning on invading. I don’t even know where here is!” Yugi answered.
“Well that’s good. Want to be friends then?” Before Yugi could answer Pan interrupted.
“Grandpa he won’t tell me where the other one went!” she insisted. Yugi stopped for second. Grandpa? The kid was even shorter then he was!
“Now Pan, what have I told you about meeting strangers?” Goku asked his grand daughter.
“Never try to pick a fight before you meet them. But there was a really strong presence and now it’s gone!” She began to pout. Goku instantly switched from stern lecturer to caring grandfather.
“Well, don’t worry about it then. If it’s gone it’s gone, and there’s nothing to worry about!” Goku announced cheerfully. He turned to where Yugi was standing. “Can you fly?” he asked. Yugi blinked at the question.
“Um, no. I don’t know any one who can.” he answered.
“Well, now you know two people who can! Glad Chi-Chi made me bring the capsule then.” Goku reached into his shirt and pulled out a small capsule. Throwing it at the ground it was replaced by a small flying car. Goku quickly hopped behind the wheel, and motioned for Yugi to get in. Yugi climbed into one of the passenger seats, and Goku lifted off. It was several minutes of trying to keep up with what Goku was saying before Yugi realized Pan wasn’t in the back. He began to look around hurriedly, fearing the girl had fallen out, when he noticed her flying alongside the car. He decided that it could wait, along with all the other questions he had running through his head.

Tea woke up to the sight of two of the most handsome boys she had ever laid eyes on. One had spiky black hair, while the other sported a more common trimmed cut, though his hair did seem to be a slight shade of purple. She didn’t recognize either of them, which was odd, because she thought she knew all of the kids around Domino. She thought of saying something, but her head was hurting much too much. Instead, she simply fainted again.

“So what do you think we should do with her?” Goten asked. Trunks looked down at her for a moment, thinking to himself.
“Let’s fly her home to my mom. She can check her out at Capsule Corp.” Trunks suggested.
“Sounds like a good idea. You want to carry her, or should I?” Goten asked.
“I’ll take her. If we see my dad, he’ll think I’m carrying her for training.” Trunks answered.
“He really can be an ass at times can’t he?” Goten joked. Bending down he picked Tea up and placed her on Trunks’ back. Trunks shifted her about for a second, making sure the weight was properly distributed.
“Yeah he can be. But at least the training is worth it.” Trunks reminded him.
“Yeah, but only if they let us back into the tournament this year.” Goten replied. The two friends took off, heading back to the city a few miles away. Goten made sure to fly a bit above, just in case Trunks lost his passenger.
“Hey, I warned you about going super in the preliminaries. It was all your fault man.”
“It was not!”

They flew back to the city, bickering all the while.

Krillin was enjoying the peace and quiet when he noticed the blond kid walking on the ground beneath the cliff he was resting on. He couldn’t help but wonder if the kid knew about the dinosaur chasing him.

Joey was a bit annoyed. He was who knew where, with out anything to eat. The only good news was that he still had his deck with him. Though now it seemed like there was an earthquake about to hit…

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kaiba stood in front of the Kaiba Corp. building, looking at the rival building across the street. It was nowhere near as tall as his skyscraper, but it was just as massive, completely filling the city block it occupied. Yet for some reason, Kaiba just couldn’t ever recall seeing a Capsule Corp building from his offices. He didn’t recall flying cars or animal people either. This could only mean that he was once more trapped in another virtual world. That at least explained what Mokuba had been doing waiting for him in his office. It was the real one at any rate, as they had made sure to carve a special mark into their lockets, a mark they hadn’t shared with anyone, simply to prevent another replacement or kidnapping.

It seemed some one had gone to great lengths to cook this up. It didn’t matter really. It just meant he was going to have a lot of fun bringing the house down on top of them.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yami-Bakura stepped over the bodies of the two monsters he had just defeated. They had reminded him slightly of those trolls Joey was fond of playing, except these two had been wearing t-shirts with the word HELL brightly emblazoned on them. He wondered where he was, and what it would profit him to be there.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Grandpa found himself standing on a small tropical island. It was so small, he could see to the other end, barely a hundred yards away. There was a small house, with the words KAME HOUSE painted on the side. Having no where else to go, Grandpa made his way into the house. He found a rather old gentleman sitting in front of a TV. It seemed there was a beach volleyball match on, featuring some rather well endowed young ladies. He looked up from the screen to the gentleman in the easy chair. The other man simply smiled and nodded. Grandpa walked over to the second chair and sat down to watch the show. He carefully neglected to ask about the rather large and heavy looking turtle shell the other gentleman was wearing.
