It had been a day like any other. Yuki had gone to school expecting a typical boring day, with typical boring problems. Maybe a pop quiz, maybe not, it didn't matter. She was about average in terms of academic achievement, not failing but not at the top of the class. Just enough to avoid attention from concerned or proud parents. Which was just as good, because her parents were usually far too busy to care about her, hardly even at home most of the time.
Feeling bored and slightly impetuous, Yuki decided to take a different way home from school.
Instead of a leisurely stroll past the shopping district, she opted instead for the long scenic route, which wandered through the park and across the river. Turning off her normal path, she took a moment to admire the trees, the leaves they bore already changing colors in full autumn magnificence. Reds, oranges, yellows, browns and golds all filled the trees and ground with a multi-colored panorama that took one's breath away. Glad she went this way, she took her time, enjoying the view.
The beautiful fall colors were marred by a large splash of silver, however. She looked at the shape, puzzled. It seemed to be a gigantic capsule, easily big enough for her to climb in. The door was thrown open, nearly broken off it's hinges. The capsule itself was empty, although several complicated computer monitors flashed odd symbols she couldn't read. There were several wires and cords stretched out of the capsule, as if whatever had left it had been connected to them, and didn't unplug itself before moving away.
Her curiousity got the better of her, and Yuki looked around, wondering what way whatever it was had went. Maybe it was a scientific experiment, like maybe a bear that had been genetically modified? She didn't even consider the possibility of it being a DearS, even though the news channels were all abuzz over the visitors from space.
She realized if whatever had left the capsule hadn't bothered to remove the cords, they would be pointing in the direction it had gone. Looking down, she checked, then doublechecked to make sure. Yup, all the cords were pointing in more or less the same direction, East, which coincidentally was the same direction as her house.
Moving on, she kept a sharp eye out for any sort of sign of a disturbance, like some kind of rampage's effects or people screaming or something. Nothing of the sort seemed to have happened, though, so she continued searching, while following the path that would lead her home. As she did, the city grew less and less urban. It was certainly still a crowded city, no doubt about that, but it wasn't nearly so cramped as the main part of town.
Finally, she reached her home, which was actually just a decent-sized apartment in a large complex. She had just pushed open the gate and stepped inside when-
"Kyah!"
she crashed to the ground, tripping over something that had been left on the ground by the gate. Getting up, she rubbed her knee; she'd scraped it when she fell. It wasn't quite bleeding, but it
certainly hurt. She looked over at what she'd tripped over, and thought it was a rolled up carpet or something. Must be her neighbors, the Yamadas. They were always throwing perfectly good things away. She didn't have any carpet in her apartment, so she made a decision. Getting up, she winced as her knee complained about it's treatment, then carefully picked up the carpet roll. It was surprisingly heavy, she could barely hold it up. But she was stubborn, and somehow made it inside the complex, up the stairs, and in her apartment, without catching anyone's eye.
Tossing the carpet down on the floor, she heard a muffled exhalation of breath, as if the carpet was alive. 'Living carpet? Ridiculous!' she thought, and tossed her bag on the table. Slipping her shoes off, she decided to take a shower. Undoing her uniform, she let the individual pieces of clothing fall to the ground one at a time as she walked to her bathroom. Stepping inside, she turned the water on, and waited for it to heat up. Once it had, she slipped inside, feeling the hot water run over her body. She liked thinking over the events of the day while taking a shower; today was no exception.
Overall, nothing of great importance had happened. She did okay on the test, her lunch was good, nothing bad happened, and she had gotten a free roll of carpet too! Also that silver capsule, whatever it had been about. Shrugging, she lathered up, running her hands over her body as she washed up. She was proud of her figure. It wasn't fantastic, or even great, but she liked it. Her breasts were C cups, they filled her uniform nicely, complemented with a slim waist and slightly wider hips. She had good skin, she took good care of it. She liked her hair too, it was a noticeable green, a bit under shoulder length. Her eyes were a clear blue, the color of a spring sky. All in all, she could say without lying that she looked pretty good.
Finishing her shower, she wrapped a towel around her body and stepped out of the bathroom. Flicking the television on, she heard an annoying commercial for some amazing product that would change her life. Ignoring it, she turned to inspect her new acquisition. Prodding it with the tip of one foot, she was surprised at how soft it seemed, not like carpet at all. Now that she looked closer, it didn't even look like carpet, it looked like a blanket. Curious, she found the edge and tugged, causing the rolled up lump of fabric to unroll, stretching across her room. She should have realized something was wrong when a pair of feet stuck out from the edge, but it wasn't until the roll was fully unfurled that she caught on. There was a naked girl lying on her floor! Blushing, she tried to figure out what was going on. Why was she in the blanket? Was she dead? Was the killer going to come after her next?
She felt a rush of relief when the girl stirred, sitting up and looking around cautiously. Yuki couldn't help but notice the girl's figure; it was perfect! Full breasts, easily an F cup if not more, jutted from her chest like proud figureheads on a ship. Her waist was almost ridiculously thin, and it merged into her wide, firm hips which led to a pair of long, smooth legs. Her hair was long, too, easily stretching down to about where her ankles were, a pale green or teal color. Her eyes were a mysterious red, they were almost crimson. As it turns out, she wasn't quite naked, she had a collar on, hanging slightly loose around her neck. Yuki was wondering why the girl wasn't freaking out, why she hadn't even said anything, when the commercial break ended, going back to the feature story. It was about DearS again, showing a pair of the aliens. Yuki had looked up when the volume changed, and saw collars identical to the one her guest had on. 'Could she be a DearS?!'
Yuki knelt down in front of the girl, trying to get her attention.
"Hey! Who are you, anyways?"
The girl didn't appear to understand, she just stared blankly at Yuki for a moment. Then, without warning, she reached out and grabbed Yuki's hand. Putting it to her lips, she kissed it, causing Yuki to pull her hand away quickly. But even as she did so, a light seemed to emit from the girl's collar, and when it subsided, she noticed the girl was somehow wearing clothes! Clothes was being a bit generous, it looked like some fetishist's swimsuit, showing off a good deal of skin and possessing some unique features. The girl smiled mysteriously at Yuki, and then finally chose to speak. At first, it was a sound she couldn't even describe, much less understand, but she managed to catch a part of it.
"...Ren Ren Ren Nagusarann Rensia Rurunnren Nakora"
"Is that your name? Wow, that's a long one. I think I'll just call you Ren, if that's okay. So, Ren-chan, what were you doing here?"
Ren didn't answer, not appearing to understand. She had a slightly puzzled look on her face, as if she didn't understand a word Yuki had said. Yuki sighed, deciding that it must have been a fluke that she understood Ren at all. Thinking for a moment, her thoughts were interrupted by a loud gurgling sound.
"Oh, you're hungry? Come on, I'll get you something."
Taking Ren by the hand, she led her into the kitchen. Yuki hadn't had a chance to make supper yet, she was getting low on groceries anyway. But she did have a good supply of snack items, perfect for the bored student. Picking up a few choices, she handed them to Ren, who held them carefully. Yuki told her to eat, but again she didn't appear to understand. Sighing once more, Yuki picked up a Melon Bread, and opened it, then took a big bite, showing Ren how.
Ren didn't need another hint. In less time than it took to say it, she practically inhaled every last treat Yuki had handed her. Yuki sighed yet again, there went half of her munchies supply. She watched as Ren licked her fingers clean, and was struck once more by how pretty she was, it made her feel a little envious. With breasts like those, she could probably get any guy she wanted.
Yuki told Ren she could stay the night, but that was it. After that she would have to leave, to go wherever it was she was supposed to go. Surely the DearS didn't wander around town carelessly like that, did they? Not that she'd know, she never saw one before. At least, not in the flesh. She tried to do her homework, but it felt like Ren's eyes were on her constantly, even though Ren was still standing in the kitchen. Feeling a little annoyed, she pulled her futon out and decided to go to bed. She didn't have a spare, so it looked like she'd be on the couch.
She had to practically push Ren into her bedroom and make her lie down, telling her to go to sleep didn't seem to do anything. As she settled down on the rather uncomfortable couch, she hoped nothing else would happen.
When she woke up, she found out how misplaced that hope was. Ren was laying on top of her, her face practically pushed against hers, straddling her hips rather intimately. And her clothes had come off again! Yuki screamed in panic, and pushed at Ren, trying to get her off. She shoved against the alien girl, her hand ending up grabbing one of her breasts. She was struck by just how soft it was, and then she'd pushed enough, Ren rolled over, allowing Yuki to get out from under her. Panting, she stared at the odd girl. Were all DearS like that!? Rubbing the bridge of her nose, she stretched a little, her back hurt from sleeping on the couch. She fixed a quick breakfast, remembering to make some for Ren whenever she'd wake up as well. Packing her bag, she left a note for Ren, saying to help herself to anything in the kitchen, but be gone by the time she got back.
Hoping that was enough, she left, going to school. She dreaded what she might find when she went back home, so she took her time. Leaving school, she heard a couple other students, they were chatting about DearS. Apparantly there was going to be a DearS coming to the school. That was just great, another one. She'd lived through the past year with virtually no contact or information about the DearS, why now?
As she approached her home, she had the most unsettling feeling that Ren was still there. She had told her to be gone, didn't she understand what she had said? DearS were supposed to be masters of languages, weren't they? Was she a flunkout? Yuki didn't want to have to teach her, she just wanted her gone.
Opening the door, she was only half surprised by what she saw. Ren was lying on the floor, unconscious. An armful of snack boxes and bags were scattered all about her, none of them opened. Didn't she know how to open bags or boxes? This was getting ridiculous! Yuki left Ren where she was, and started gathering up the various snack items, putting them on the table for the moment.
She'd been right, Ren was still here, what now? She probably hadn't eaten anything all day, Yuki couldn't send her out on an empty stomach, could she? Sighing, she went into the kitchen and started making an early supper. It was scarcely four in the afternoon, but if Ren had passed out from hunger it was already late.
As the tantalizing aroma of fried rice and pork filled the room, Ren's nose perked up. Moving to a sitting up position, she still had her eyes closed, but had her nose to guide her. She followed the scent into the kitchen, just in time for Yuki to set the large platter down. Ren stared at it hungrily, practically drooling.
"Yeah, yeah, go ahead."
That was all the permission she needed. Immediately sitting down at the table, she showed she'd learned at least some Earth customs, like chairs. But that was about it. Ignoring the chopsticks and fork at her side, Ren reached a hand directly into the hot oily rice. Only to pull it back in pain as the hot oil singed her skin. She stuck her fingers in her mouth and teared up a little.
Yuki watched, wide-eyed, as Ren showed no real knowledge of cutlery. Had she been hit in the head or something? It had been obvious the food was hot, there was steam and everything.
She pulled Ren to her feet and marched her to the sink, putting her hand under running cold water. After a moment, she pulled it out and gently dried it, patting it with a soft towel. Then a slight covering with ointment and some bandages, and she was good to go. It was obvious her hand still hurt, so Yuki sat Ren down again and put the chopsticks in her good hand, showing her how to use them. She learned quickly enough, and within a half hour the entire platter of rice was finished. Yuki wasn't too hungry herself, but she'd grab a snack later. First, though...
"You need a bath."
If she was right, Ren hadn't had a bath in a couple of days. She'd been in that blanket for who knows how long, and she probably hadn't taken a bath while Yuki was at school. So after a moment of deliberation, Yuki stood Ren up once more. Marching her to the bathroom, she tried to think of how to remove the clothes she had on. They didn't have seams or buttons or anything. Maybe the collar? As if to confirm her suspicions, when she tapped the metal link on her collar, a light appeared, and as it faded Ren's clothes were gone, leaving her standing there without a stitch covering her, aside from the collar.
Yuki knew better than to hope that Ren knew how to bathe herself. This was not how she had envisioned spending her free time! She changed out of her clothes and into a towel, wrapping it around her frame snugly. Filling the tub with hot water, she also filled a small tub with cold water and had Ren sit on a small stool. She dumped the water over her, causing Ren to shiver, her nipples growing erect from the sudden shift in temperature. Ren clutched her arms to herself from the cold while Yuki began to wash her, lathering up her back with body wash and a cloth, scrubbing halfway between gently and forcefully.
Yuki blushed almost constantly as she cleaned up Ren's front, being this close made her realize the true extent of Ren's dimensions. Unearthly never seemed a more appropriate adjective than it did now. Finally, she finsihed, and moved on to her hair. Scrubbing the shampoo in, the rest of the soaping didn't take very long at all. Dumping another tub of cold water over Ren, she heard the DearS squeak a little from the repeated cold. It was the first sound she'd made since Yuki came home, she wondered why?
No matter, it's not like she understood her anyways. She sent Ren to the bathtub and had her slip into the hot water. Ren winced a little, was it too hot? Yuki checked; no, it felt about right. She pushed Ren gently the rest of the way in, and told her to stay put. Yuki was already a bit sweaty from having to wash Ren, she might as well take a bath herself, right? So she did to herself much the same that she did to Ren, feeling Ren's eyes on her, causing her to self-consciously blush once more.
Slipping into the tub, the silence seemed abnormally loud. Yuki tried to think of something to say, even though Ren wouldn't understand. She spoke, a bit hesitant at first, about whatever came to mind. What she did at school, the weather, that sale at the mall, all sorts of things. It was pretty obvious Ren didn't understand, but she listened very well. Finally, a short while later, the heat from the water was starting to get to Yuki, so it was time to get out. Clambering out of the tub, she pulled Ren up with her and dried them both off. Pulling on a bathrobe, she handed the spare to Ren, helping her tie it in place.
By now it was already just about seven, and Yuki was getting hungry. Going back to the kitchen, she fixed her own supper, and was just about to dig in when she noticed Ren's hungry gaze.
"Geez, you're still hungry?! Fine, fine, we'll split it."
So she pulled out a second plate and put half of her sandwich on the other plate, and handed it to Ren. They both dug in, apparantly they were both pretty hungry. Yuki was running low on food, though, so the half sandwich would have to be enough until tomorrow, when she was going grocery shopping. It was a Saturday, so there was only a half day of school.
Now it was approaching nine, so it was time for bed. Yuki sighed, hoping there wouldn't be another incident like this morning's. She led Ren back to her room, and helped her change into her spare pajamas, then having her lay down. Looks like it's the couch for me once more, Yuki thought.
Laying down, she wondered if she should have cleaned her room. She'd left her homework books all over the place, and she was pretty sure there were a few magazines, too. She drifted off to sleep, starting to get used to the uncomfortable couch. She really hoped tomorrow would go better than today did.
Within Yuki's room, something odd was happening. The small triangle icon on Ren's forehead glowed and changed shape, lengthening and becoming a bit more elaborate. Suddenly an odd light filled the room, and the books and magazines swirled through the air, as if buffeted by unseen winds. They flipped open, and all the text on them seemed to stream off and whirl around before being sucked inside of the triangle of Ren's crown. As suddenly as it had started, it ceased, the books falling to the ground rather noisily. Ren had been asleep throughout the entire incident, apparantly the light and noise weren't enough to wake her up.

Ignoring the chopsticks and fork at her side, Ren reached a hand directly into the hot oily rice. Only to pull it back in pain as the hot oil singed her skin. She stuck her fingers in her mouth and teared up a little.
