Welcome to the Hoenn Region
A/N: First fanfic (aside from my usual Rockman.exe goodies) of the PokéMon world. Do not own PokéMon and any official characters. Also, this takes place two years after Brendan Birch became champion, and May Maple a successful PokéMon coordinator. Advanceshipping and whatnot...
There are also some areas of lemony scenes in the mix of a few chapters. There’ll be a coupling between David and his Gardevoir Maya; yay fluffy romance. There’s also May (15) x Brendan (15) romance as well, because in this story, those two are dating... and for those Wally (14) fans out there, he’ll be in it as well, along with other odd couplings.

Chapter 1
Welcome to the Hoenn Region
Hello, my name is David. I have always liked PokéMon, being a successful trainer and all but now I get to challenge the Hoenn region, and surprise, I’m only 15. Ever since new PokéMon were discovered, some of them migrated to Kanto and Johto. But, as I will soon learn, this will lead me to an adventure that would change my life forever...

“David, how much longer until we have arrived in Hoenn?”
“Not for another day, Maya.”
Maya was his first PokéMon when he started becoming a PokéMon Trainer back in Johto. Maya was a fully evolved Gardevoir. David bought a Silk Scarf which was said to increase the strength of normal-type attacks. Maya wore that scarf, and she never takes it off.
Axl was David’s Blaziken, and was his second PokéMon he caught outside the Hoenn Region. Axl has a single circle print on the back of his hands when he evolved during the Elite Four battles. There was no explanation about it.
He also had a Scizor named Zero that evolved from a Scyther when it held onto a Metal Coat item or something along those words. For some reason after he fully evolved into a Scizor, on his left shoulder was a mark which was a simple Z; Zero never complained about the odd Z mark on his left shoulder. Zero was David’s third captured PokéMon.
His Vulpix named Jamie was caught around the time he was acquiring his fifth badge, a day after getting the forth, and was his fourth PokéMon. Nothing interesting as she was like any other Vulpix, except her paws were white tipped, and there was a small lavender triangle print on the middle of her forehead.
His Raichu, Nene, was injured and rescued when her old trainer left her for being so weak. He felt sorry for her, and after he rescued her from drowning – The trainer threw her into the lake behind the eighth gym when she failed to defeat Clair’s Kingdra, and tried to drown her himself – Nene never left David’s side after her old trainer was arrested and stripped of his PokéMon Trainer status and any PokéMon he had collected. A little interesting point on Nene was that her cheeks where she stores her electrical powers, they were heart shaped instead of round circle shaped. The heart shaped cheek marks gave her that cute and adorable look.
Shippuuga was his Gyarados that he caught when he was crossing the route that linked between Kanto and Johto. He was a rare PokéMon; his PokéMon status was higher than a normal Gyarados.
Now, this is what makes his PokéMon rare, they – excluding Shippuuga – can talk. No, not their syllable words, but the human language (after he healed them with strangely colored potions he bought from a hermit just outside The Indigo Plateau). They also have a few moves that are otherwise unheard of from their usual species taught by David himself.
David and Maya were watching the sea, as the stars shimmered in the sky and the glow of the full moon cascading like glitter on the waves of the ocean they traveled across on the cruise ship. If Maya was human, she and David would have looked like a romantic couple to the many people on the cruise ship.
“I’m bored already,” Axl said, claiming a check mate against Zero in a game of chess. David and Maya were outside, but the rest of his PokéMon (Shippuuga inside his Pokéball) were in his cabin room, which was large enough for him considering all the cash he won from the trainer, gym, and Elite Four battles in Johto.
“Sorry, but it’ll be a day before we arrive Axl, you know that,” Zero stated in a calm manner, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Damn it! I am so bored already! I’m bored from beating your red ass at chess.”
For that, Zero knocked him out, like he usually does whenever Axl grows too annoying. He would put away the game board and the chess pieces, but since he is a Scizor, and has crab like pincer claws instead of humanoid hands, he just left the board game on the table before retreating to his corner of the room and closed his eyes, in a mediation state.
Axl was still where he was – on the floor with a bump on the head, and knocked unconscious – and Jamie and Nene were watching James Bond 007.
David shivered a bit, despite wearing warm clothes. Maya held David in her arms and projected a barrier with her powers to block out the cold. He smiled and also blushed a bit.
“I am certain you shall do well here. I heard that the Hoenn League this year is in Tournament Brackets,” Maya told her Trainer, and best friend.
He was still blushing, but he simply nodded and kept close to his warm Maya. An hour later of chatting and gazing at the stars depicting out several star constellations, they returned to their cabin and gotten some sleep.

The next day, the boat docked at noon at Slateport City. David had to recall his other PokéMon to their Pokéballs though before getting off with the stuff he would need for those nights incase he’s out in the wild. Axl was left out because he was carrying another bag which held other items such as PokéMon food, human food, cooking utensils, and miscellaneous stuff.
“So, where do we go to first?”
“We have to go see Professor Birch. He lives all the way in Littleroot Town.”
“Damn... if your map is right, that’s a long way on foot alone.”
“I’m guessing only two weeks tops. To register for the league here I have to register my Pokédex with Birch, and also get it upgraded from what Elm had told me.”
“Ahh, I see; like you have to do to register for the Johto League Professor Elm in New Bark Town, and with Professor Oak in Kanto’s Palette Town.”
“Right,” David said.
The duo after a day’s walking stopped to set up camp off the road. David let loose his other PokéMon, and was lucky they were near the nearby river so Shippuuga can get some exercise.
David knew it would be a week or so before he reaches Littleroot Town. Not only is he planning to register for the Hoenn League, but Elm asked for him to bring a parcel to Birch.
“Is the stew cooked Maya?”
“It appears to be.”
David walked over after getting the bowls out, and took a sample taste, and smiled. “Yup, it’s ready.” After passing out everyone’s dinner, Shippuu getting his own dinner in the river, David went to sleep along with Maya surprisingly enough, and everyone dozed off after awhile into the night.
