Crimson Eyes COMPLETE REWRITE

---------Crimson Eyes---------
Prolouge - How It All Began

Many years ago, when mews populated the pokemon earth, they each began to develop into the earliest forms of today’s 493 species. Mews then were very different to the singular “Mew” today, and had unstable DNA, a trait only shared by today’s Eevee.

In the dark, shadowy ash plains next to the volcanoes, on the part of the then Pangaea continent known today as Kanto, the mews there became small, fox like creatures, with a primitive form of fire breathing. They were originally white, like the mews themselves, and had a single tail, which split into six as they grew.

They would grow and change, the earliest form of evolution, into large, nine-tailed foxes, who could breath fire. These were very vain, and their hearts turned as dark as the ash they lived in. They could live for a thousand years.

The first humans called them Kitsune.

Today, we know them and their younger counterparts as Ninetales and Vulpix.

Over time, the powerful mew DNA eventually vanished, as every species evolved to what they are today, and the Vulpix’s did not have enough power to evolve. However, rare fire stones contained the fiery power to kick-start the natural evolution, and thus, a Ninetales is born.

Ninetales are still as dark and as vain as their ancestral Kitsune, and have developed a dark magic and vengeful attitude, and it is widely believed pulling any of its tails results in a thousand year curse.

They despised humans, few have been able to train one, and took over the ash plains, in the native language of the species, named Kirran, in their tongue meaning Ash-Domain. A mythical place, little known in today’s mythology. Every Vulpix born outside Kirran has a homing instinct to it, which grows stronger as a Ninetales. This is why so few are ever seen in the wild anywhere else.

Ninetales sometimes snatch Vulpix’s, especially females, and take them, or die trying, to Kirran. If they succeed, they become mates.

Female Ninetales are actually more common everywhere but Kirran. This is because they are kept as Vulpix’s, for many reasons. One, because a Vulpix can bear a litter, Since Ninetales uses more power, it can only sustain 1-3 pups, secondly, because Vulpix tend to be much more meek, and are more willing to serve the males. This does not mean there are no female Ninetales in Kirran, though. The lands are rich in firestones, and some have even risen to become leaders.

The Ninetales view themselves as rivals to the lion-like Arcanines, majestic, almost legendary fire creatures who evolved in the volcanoes. They are loyal, and strong, and full of the sun, with flame fur. The Ninetales have the darkness of the dusk, and the silver-gold fur of the setting sun. While a few battles have taken place, the Arcanines and Growlithes rarely share this rivarly.

This is the story of a Ninetales.

Note From Author: I was very unhappy with this story, and my poor spelling and writing when I first made it. However, I still liked the idea, and changed it drastically. This is more deep, better written, and a version I am happier with.
