The undead warriors seemed to have appeared out of thin air. Several could be seen in the gloom, and more were hiding in the shadows.

"Undead warriors! How the hell do we defend against them!?" Leina asked.

"We've just got to do our best!" Tomoe said.

"We got a trump card on our side." Risty said.

"What is it?" Leina asked. Risty pointed to Nanel.

"Her. All angels wield the divine light that drives away the undead." Risty said.

"Can you take on so many of them?" Leina asked.

"No problem!" Nanel said. However, the undead suddenly multiplied tenfold.

"Okay, problem." Nanel said. Risty held her mace up.

"We'll keep some of them busy while you dispel them!" Risty said. The others were quick to join in with Risty in fighting the undead legions. Strangely enough, they did overwhelm everyone with the sheer force of numbers, but didn't kill them. Some of the perverted ones removed tops and fondled tits. However, that stopped when Menace appeared. She sneered at everyone.

"Someone here is going to make the prison guards very happy..." Melona said.

"But they are... And tomorrow, our beloved Swamp Queen will become queen of the land." Melona said. "We'll be taking you away now." With that, everyone present was taken away, and passed out in the process. They used sleeping magic on them. The only one left behind was Nanel. The only reason why was because nobody wanted to carry her, and since she was ineligible for the Queen's Blade, she couldn't stop the Swamp Queen from taking the crown. However, they did put her to sleep.


All the combatants woke up several hours later, in the Swamp Queen's land. They all had been stripped of weapons and armor. This, of course, forced many of them to go naked, or at least topless. Even Echidna's snake was gone.

"We'll find that snake soon enough. Right now, I think we should concentrate on getting out of here." Leina said. There were about seven girls in a cell designed for four, so it was crowded. Leina looked into the cell next to her and saw Soroto there.

"Come on! We don't have time for that!" Risty said.

"I'm not leaving them behind!" Leina said. Once everyone was free, they went out of the cellblock to another section of the dungeon. There they found the armory, where all their weapons and armor were stored.

"Damnit, they have their weapons!!" A guard said. Fighting was intense, but since the combatants outnumbered and outclassed the guards, they fell like dominoes. Once out in the courtyard, Menace and Melona confronted them.

"You are too late. Today's the day of the competition, and you are three days' journey away." Melona said.

"Plus once you get to the capital, our queen will throw you in prison, and have you all executed." Menace said. "Either way, your lives are forfeit."

"You are forgetting something. We can fight!" Leina said. She managed to slash Menace's top off, giving everyone present a full view of Menace's ample mountains. Leina refused to go down without a fight. It was only Melona left and then they could leave...


Meanwhile, the change had started. The man in charge of this was known as the exchequer; as he had been selected from the advisors to the last queen to head this.

"All candidates for the Queen's Blade shall step forward now." The exchequer said. Only Nanel and the Swamp Queen stepped forward.

"You have to stop this at once! All the other participants have been kidnapped!" Nanel said.

"The participants knew of the deadline ahead of time. If they are unable to come, that is their fault." The exchequer said. "Now, do you wish to fight her for the title of queen?"

"I... I can't challenge her. I'm dead, and to be queen for me is impossible." Nanel said.

Since there was nobody there to oppose her, the Swamp Queen earned the title of Queen of All the Land. She gave a sinister, blood-curdling wicked laugh.

"Now we rule all the land, and we will do so with an iron fist!" the Swamp Queen said.

"My god... We've lost..." Nanel said in the background.

"Now, make with the coronation! I want to use my powers now!" The Swamp Queen said. The exchequer, a loyal servant to the last queen, put the crown on the Swamp Queen's head.

"I coronate thee the new Queen." He said. The Swamp Queen laughed... and then screamed in pain as she grabbed her head. The crown was a cursed item; those who wore it became vessels of the queen that had really been reigning there. She was Fukitsuko, and had been taking young, strong women's lives for 25 previous generations to suit her needs. She made the Swamp Queen look like Nanel in terms of kindness.

"NO!! GET OUT OF ME!!!" The Swamp Queen shouted. They would be her last words as herself. She fell to the ground, and then stood up.

"Mmm... I like this body... So young, so firm... She found a way to stay young even though they said it was impossible." The queen said. The exchequer bowed to the queen.

"Your majesty, your subjects bow to you." The exchequer said. He then yanked on Nanel's dress, pulling the hapless angel to the ground.

"Mmm... It is good to have such loyal subjects." The queen said. She then went over to the balcony.

"Come, my public waits." The Queen said. The exchequer opened the doors wide, and the queen stepped outside.

"Citizens!! Welcome your new queen!!" The exchequer shouted. Everyone had been herded into the square by the guards, and were forced to kow tow to the queen.

"Fellow citizens! Rejoice as I, Fukitsuko the XXV, am your new queen!" The queen said.

The audience applauded, but definitely without putting their hearts into it....
