Mikita has a seizure

Perhaps this is not the best title to this small addition, but I couldn\'t think at the time. Poor little head of the clan. I feel bad that things are happening to her, she is so sweet.

Chapter Nine: Mikita has a seizure

Shigure\'s POV

I was sitting at the table, making notes in a pad. The monthly accounting showed that I had become fully independent of the family funds for the second month in a row. We needed to do some shopping for food by weeks end, but had plenty of funds to cover it. I had another novel in the works and this one would not only be on time but ahead of schedule. My muse was in love with me, and she kept me filled with inspiration.
Mikita and Kazuya were playing in the yard, she on the swings while he dug in the dirt near the slide. My son was fascinated by the dirt and was constantly digging somewhere, or burying something, Tohru and Kyoko were in the kitchen, where she was attempting to get the youngest of our brood to eat her leek soup. Kyoko hated leeks. I wonder where she got that from?
I continued in my tabulations, contemplating the possibility that I could now afford to buy a present for Tohru. Or maybe we would go on a vacation, to some exotic place like Kyo and Yuki had taken their family.
My thoughts took me to a not so long ago time when life had been simple. Living here with three teenagers and watching them battle and try to overcome the stresses life had given them.
My reminiscence was cut short when Kazuya\'s scream filled my ears. I looked up, to seen him standing near the swing his sister had only moments ago occupied, and she was on the ground, twitching and writhing. I was on my feet in an instant crossing the distance to her and pulling Kazuya away. He stood back and watched as I took the pencil from my ear and placed it between my daughters teeth. She was clamping down on it, and I was in no fear of her choking on her tongue.
Hatori had warned that seizures were a possibility in my childs future and had breifly told us both what to do.
\"Zuya, go tell Okaasan to call Hatori-sama, go son, now.\" Kazuya sprinted across the yard and into the house. I watched, there was nothing else I could do, as I assured myself she was breathing by leaning my head near her face. I gently massaged Mikita\'s stomach in a comforting way as she began to twitch less and her movements slowed. The worst was over, and soon I watched her breathing settle even as I heard the car pull into the drive. Tohru had stayed inside to keep Kazuya and Kyoko from witnessing any more of this than they needed, and Hatori made his way directly from the car. She had apparently told him where we were.
\"She looks good, you did well, Gure.\" Hatori opened his bag and examined the child, looking for any signs of permanent damage. I finally found the will to breathe again. Mikita\'s eyes flew open and she looked about. She had a frightened expression on her face. I watched her small face contort in panic, and she nearly flew into my arms.
\"Yuki! Help Him! Help him Otousan!\" Hatori and I exchanged glances, as the child whimpered and begged me to help my cousin, save him from some terror only known in her young mind.
\"It\'s okay, Kita. Yuki is fine. He\'s on vacation. He and Kyo took the boys to Hawaii. I talked to him this morning. It\'s okay, honey. It was only a dream, a nightmare in the day.\" She looked around the woods, looked at Hatori and then at me.
\"Can we go see Rin? I want to ride her, once more. Kazuya will help.\" her mind had accepted my words and some new concern danced in her eyes. If seeing Isuzu would help, I would take her there. She was well aware of the need for her brother to make the transformation, and Rin was usually more than willing for all the children. It was her way of making up for her lack of parental responsibility.
\"Let\'s go tell Okaasan. She was very worried about you.\" and we trotted off to the house. Followed by a contemplative Hatori.
