Death

Pairings: It’s not like I’d be able to change them at this point.

Disclaimer: Uh...hm. It’s no longer debatable…I don’t own Dn Angel. *Tear* Meh. Blah. Disclaimer accomplished Sir!

Author’s note: I have been quite busy…it’s amazing how you can go through a period where doing stuff like this is convenient but then it’s immediately gone as soon as things get interesting…and things will begin to get interesting…the story is just getting started!!!

“Wait…what is she doing?! STOP!” Satoshi cried out but it had already happened. Risa’s silk wrapped arms had pushed Daisuke into the river. Satoshi lost all thought and feeling as he watched the swatch of crimson disappear into the roiling depths of clear water.

//I was right. They are lovers.//

“Well…were.” Risa glared down at the form of the prince, struggling against the currents to remain above the water…to no avail.

“Please, help!” He cried out desperately. Risa just stood.

“I will give you neither hand nor glove.”

Daisuke coughed as a surge of violent, water clogged coughs came upon him.

“Lest you give me your own true love.” Risa finished.

//So that’s it. I’ll die. She won’t save me. She killed me.// Daisuke thought, his mind immediately taking on a fear stricken bitterness.

//Well, that’s odd. She doesn’t actually want my true love. She never did. What a strange misunderstanding…// And it was done. The last thought Daisuke had before the river claimed his life.

Gone.

Silent tears were streaming down Satoshi’s face. He could feel them on the inside though on the outside he was numb. Satoshi could see Daisuke’s body…flowing lifelessly down the river, farther and farther away. But that wasn’t true. Daisuke was already as far away as he could be.

Dark turned his face slightly to see Satoshi’s but couldn’t gaze for long before his heart twisted too painfully to keep the contact.

The two landed softly. It was quiet. Risa stood stock still, staring into the river. Satoshi wanted to push her in, but then she would die the same way that Daisuke did. She wasn’t worthy of it. She was a killer.

Dark glared at her back without realizing it. //So…how does it feel to be a murderer.// His face questioned her silently.

Risa turned to face them. He eyes were graced with no tears. They beheld only a steel coldness.

She walked boldly up to Satoshi. “Speak no word of this, or I’ll have you executed immediately.” She smiled dangerously. “I’ll always have more power than you, slave. Dark, you’ll say nothing either. No one would believe a thief over me anyways. I don’t need you anymore. I’ve been enlightened. All it took was the death of that prince.”

Both Satoshi and Dark were so shocked that neither of them moved an inch as Lady Risa just walked away back to where she came from. Just as if she had just gone for a stroll, admiring the forest beauty, instead of to confront and murder the future King of Tetrieka.

Satoshi was rooted to this spot. Forever.

//It couldn’t have really happened. No, Daisuke cannot be dead. It’s not true. No, he’s back at the castle safe. He’s just tripped and skinned his knee and it’ll be my job to clean the scrape and I will, gladly. Because I love him, always. I love him so he’s not dead. Just at the castle. I’d better go there too, before the Queen asks where I am because Daisuke came home late, in fact he didn’t come home at all…he’ll never be home again, he’ll never see me again. I’ll never see him again. Daisuke is dead.//

Satoshi screamed. He fell to the ground, on his knees. He punched the dirt. Slam. There was blood.

//Is the ground bleeding?//

But it was his fists that were bleeding.

//Did Daisuke bleed when his lungs burst? I wonder if his beautiful body is still bleeding inside, just like his heart did for me. Risa killed him but he may have already been dead because I killed him first.//

Dark winced as he witnessed Satoshi pound his fists into the ground over and over again, until they turned into a bloody pulp. He couldn’t move and his vision blurred.

//Am I crying?//

Dark was on the ground too. Clutching his stomach. He thought he might puke.

Satoshi didn’t stop punching the ground. His thoughts cleared little enough for him to realize…that he’d never smile again. Never.

Ah, quite emotional. I hope you enjoyed this short chapter, although it was so short, I do hope it was powerful. Please review and tell me what you thought.
