A brother's sort of problem

Chapter 10 - A brother’s sort of problem

Chief Kosaku of the STN-J heads up the long steps into the law office of Nagira Syunji. His face was a mask of great anger and strain as he headed in, his body was held very stiffly as he went.

Inside, he found the lanky form of Nagira sitting in a chair at the back of the office. Leaning back and smoking a cigarette as usual, the man seemed to be not the layed back man that the Chief had med after the Factory’s fall. He seemed to be very troubled himself.

The Chief looked at the thin man, and give a modest bow as he neared.
“ Pleasure to see you again, Mr. Nagira.” He said with a tight voice. “ But I would liked to meet with you under better circumstances.” He said, as he stepped towards where the Lawyer sat. “ It would be easier.”

The lean built man snuffed, as if to agree with the balding man’s statement.
“ Trust me, I would too.” He commented, sitting up more in his seat. “ Is not no picnic for me either.”

The Chief took a seat in front of the desk that Nagira sat behind, his shinny head was covered with sweat.
“ Did Amon actually try to rape Robin?” He said with a huge question in it. “ It seems almost too surreal, thinking that he would actually do something like that.”
“ He did... I saw him trying with my own eyes.” Answered the man, his eyes were cold. “ When we pulled him off, I could tell that he was very much drunk... drunker than I ever had seen my little bro get.”
“ Did he do it, or what?”
“ Robin has said Amon had not started doing it, he was just going too...” He said. “ I talked to Michael about a half hour ago, and he relayed all of what he knew to me.”

With a shake of his head, The chief seemed to give a long sigh.
“ Is she alright?” He asked.
“ Seems to be, Chief.” Answered Nagira, taking a pull from his smoke. “ She is frightened, as anyone would be, but she seems to be fine.”
“ Not hurt?”
“ It did not seem that way, but Michael did not say exactly.

The head of the STN in Japan seemed to stiffen, and his mind was definitely at work.
“ I need to talk with her about this, I guess... to get facts for SOLOMON HQ.” The chief said, rubbing his hands together quite nervously. “ I don’t relish having to do this one little bit.”
“ Does it have to be tonight, Chief?” Asked Nagira, with a questioning grunt around his cigarette. “... as I see it, it don’t have to be done right off. You have to let My drunken brother to sober up anyways, to talk to him too... and hopefully it does not freak him out any.”
“ Amon... yes.” Kosaku said, realizing that the tall lawyer was right. “ Say...um, Where is Amon now?”
“ I flopped him down in my office, on one of the couches in there.” He said, snuffing. “ He was out like a light too... I suspect he might have consumed his alcohol limit for they year.”

The Chief looked at the man and nodded.
“ So all we can do is nothing?” He asked.
“ Let Michael and Robin have time alone tonight...” Said Nagira, leaning on one elbow while regarding the shorter man. “ Little Robin needs her boyfriend for awhile.”

The Chief wiped his head with a hankie he pulled from inside his suitcoat.
“ Perhaps your right...” He admitted. “ We need all parties to be clear headed as possible.”
“ Only logical.” Said Nagira, leaning back into the chair once again.
“ I am glad to hear that Robin is alright...” The Chief said, letting a long breath out. “ After investigating this, comes the hardest part of all of this.”
I think I know just what that is already...” Amon’s brother said, his eyes flashing with the great many thoughts that passed through his tired brain. “ What to do with my brother... right?
“ Yes.” The head of the STN-J said, snuffing out the one syllable. “ What to do with Amon... I never thought I would be making myself do this to him.”

The man stood stoic for a chunk of time, obviously feeling very uneasy with the whole thing. He stood there and looked art Nagira, his face was a mask that only could be described as grim.
“ I really don’t know quite what to do with him...” He started. “ Do I reprimand him, Do I fire him or turn him over to the police for Attempted Rape?” He shook his head. “ Or do I do a combination of it all?”
“ I would not want to be in your shoes right now...” Nagira commented. “ All I can say is this is not like my brother.”

Kosaku just went quiet for a moment, leaning back into his chair. Staring off into space, the man’s face showing that his mind was not in the room at the moment, but off somewhere farther off within his own racing brain. Head bowed to his chest, the man was certainly pondering with the cause and effects of this night.

Nagira stood up and walked toward his office area, after lighting another smoke to replace the one he finished up. He took a long drag and let the cloud of greyish white go with a forceful exhale.
“ I’ll go and check on Amon, and grab that bottle of whisky I got from a client that was originally from America.” He said. “ After all of this, I need one hell of a stiff belt.”
“ None for me..” Said the head man of the STN-J, surprising Nagira that he had heard him.

The tall Lawyer shook his head, and continued on to the office at the back of his building. He needed the drink, and he was going to get it. That’s what his mind was telling him as he entered the room.

He came out a few seconds later.
“ Fuck!!” He swore loudly, as he stormed with the whisky bottle held tightly in one hand.
“ What?” Asked the Chief, hearing the inflection come through the swear word.

Nagira stared at the man, his eyes were now as dark as coal. He seemed to be more than just a little bit angry.
“ I was grabbing that bottle, and I saw that my little fucking brother is not where i left him.” He spat. “ In simple terms, he’s gone.”
“ Gone?” Kosaku asked, his mouth opening in shock.

The thin man nodded, as he filled up a drink glass full of the dark golden liquid from the rectangular bottle.
“ He snuck out the back way, while we were in here.” He informed, through gritted teeth.
“ I thought he was too drunk to move now?”
“ So did I...” Snapped Nagira, pumping back half of the glasses contents in one pull. “ The fucker was totally wasted when I poured him literally on to that couch in there... yet he is gone.”
“ Do you think he will go back to Robin’s place?” Kosaku asked. “ Or will he head over to Michael’s?”

Nagira did not answer right off, as he slammed back the second part of his drink.
“ That is hard to say now...” He said, his face wincing as the liquid burned all the way down to his stomach. “ You phone Michael and warn him about Amon’s little disappearing act...” He pondered on the situation for a second, the looked at the man again. “ You need to make a decision and fast about calling the cops on Amon.”
“ What are you going to do?” Said the Chief, standing up and moving to a phone off to the side.

Nagira snuffed as he swung himself to put on his fur he always wore. He stopped to pick up his cigarettes from the table, then turned to the much shorter man.
“ What am I going to do?” He questioned in a gruff chuckle. “ I am going to save my brother from himself.”
“ You think you might be able to find him?” Kosaku put out there, hoping that a answer would come fast.
“ If anyone can... I can!” Was all the tall man said, his eyes showing no emotions outwardly. “ He’s my brother.. I know the inner workings of his mind, albeit it is usually when he is sober.”
“ What if you can’t find him?” Pointed out the Chief. “ He could be anywhere by now.”
“ I have to get to that possibility, when and if that is what happens, I guess...” Nagira speculated, as he thought on the man’s brainwave. “ I am going to find him though... I can feel it.”

Like a graceful ballet dancer, Nagira turned smoothly on his heels, and headed for the door. He seemed to be very quite serious in his reflections of this night, as he headed off.
“ Dammit to all hell, bro...” He said to himself, feeling so angry with the man right now, more than he ever had. “ I have to hunt you down, just like you do with the witches.” He snuffed loudly to himself, as a thought entered his brain suddenly. “ This is wholly ironic... I am hunting him now.”

Kosaku dialed the phone and then simply waited for an answer to come. He watched through the window, as Nagira got into his car and sped off down the road like he had been shot out of a cannon. The chief just shook his head, as his mind was pondering on just what the hell he was going to do with his Hunter.

The hacker lad picked up on the other end, and the chief founds himself talking almost immediately, wanting to get out the information before it truly registered in his mind. At that point, he knew that this was seriously screwed up.
