Okay…I’ll admit it, that last bit of the most recent chappie went by too fast! But I’m trying to emphasize the instability of Akito’s sanity and his inherent sadistic nature here! It’s harder than it seems…*^_^ Okay then…Now that you’re glaring at me, I’ll just give you the next chapter:

“My my, for a heartless monster, you look as though someone has crushed your very soul…” Akito murmured, mockingly licking blood from his palm.

Indeed, Kyo did look as though his heart had been crushed, his soul taken. He held himself unsteadily against the door frame, shaking in what seemed like fear were it not for the fresh tears streaming down his face, his teeth clenched as if to keep himself from screaming. The cat’s breath was rapid and shallow, his heart pounding like mad. His eyes were vacant and cold, seeing nothing but Yuki and his broken body, cast carelessly aside by the devious god. Thankfully, the rat had passed out long before he had noticed the cat…and Kyo had not been there long…

Akito had made sure to save the very best just for the cat…

“If you hadn’t interfered he would not be in this state. He openly gave himself to me, like the good little whore he is! And what a time we had!” Akito chuckled, noting the gleam of anger in the cat’s eyes. “But you had to go sniffing around like the depraved creature that you are, trying to seek him out! Of course, I wanted you to see him! I wanted you to watch as I took everything from him…his dignity, his pride, his beauty, and even his virginity! He was so sweet…Trying to protect you, you vile thing! And look what it has done to him…”

Kyo looked across the room at the broken rat…His heart felt as though it was being torn apart…But he couldn’t let go! He didn’t want to, and he would finish what he started.

Akito laughed to himself as he watched Kyo stumble brokenly towards the unconscious Yuki. He watched as Kyo stripped himself of his outer robe and lay it upon the rat’s mangled body so gently, he watched as Kyo crashed to his knees beside the smaller boy, more tears streaming down his face in silent anguish. He tenderly pulled the limp body into his arms and cradled him close, burying his face in the rat’s neck.

“We’re going home, you damn rat…I promise..” Kyo whispered hoarsely. A snort from Akito made Kyo turn to face him.

“It‘s sweetly ironic, Kyo. You came here seeking to save the little mouse from my clutches, and yet he came to me of his own volition, not once, but twice!” Akito laughed.

Kyo looked to Akito, his eyes burning with anger and hatred, and he fought with himself in trying to keep control.

“And you are mine just as much as he is…” Akito whispered, as if challenging the cat.

Kyo smiled to himself at that, his anger quickly waning.

//Never. He can never have us. We are the masters of our fate, and the masters of our hearts and souls. He can never have that.//

“You can’t have us, Akito,” Kyo whispered dangerously. “We were never meant to be yours, so we won’t be. I am Yuki’s…I live for him to fulfill a promise. And he is mine, bound by the same promise.” Kyo pulled Yuki closer and prepared himself to stand. He rose on shaking legs, but held Akito’s gaze. “And you can never change that.”

With his final words, Kyo walked shakily past the clan head, stumbling every now and again, but his eyes held a look of unfathomable determination. As he passed Akito, a pale hand shot out and held Kyo’s shoulder. Kyo stopped and turned to the god, ready to fight, but a strange look in Akito’s eyes held him mesmerized…something akin to compassion and love…maybe even pride? But the glimmer was quickly replaced by a look of arrogance and hatred.

“One reason and one reason only gives you the lenience to leave. My contract with Yuki is broken. Neither of you must stay here…” Akito said sternly. Kyo started to pull away, but Akito held fast. “But know this…you and he are still mine… Always.”

Akito let go of the cat and wandered over to the bloody futon to sit and watch as Kyo stumbled and tripped to triumphantly leave…As the cat was silhouetted against the doorway, Yuki’s head fell back and bobbed against the cat’s arm.

“It seems, my dear mouse, that the cat’s pain is as great as my own,” Akito whispered to himself. “And through pain comes victory. I have won.”

And the god of the House of Sohma let the witheld tears of sorrow and regret flow free as he saw his most cherished possession leave in the arms of the one man Yuki truly loved, and who loved him in return.

“Everything I do, I do for you…”

Don’t worry! It’s not the end! I promise! ^_^ I just wanted to establish the fact that Akito is insane, but is also deeply compassionate and caring! AND STILL A MAN!! I hope I got that message across…If not, I’ll try to get the characters to realize it (not the man part…)! WOOT! I’m so sorry about the lack o’ update, but I am deeply absorbed in YGO right now…I know, I’m evil! But I read Fruits Basket 8 and was totally flattened! RIN IS A HO!!
