A wall between

Chapter Twelve

Karasuma paced the floor in the waiting room. She could not believe that Amon was even capable of beating his own pregnant wife like this. She never got this from him in the two years she had worked along side of the tall man. Since he was long gone from the hospital while his wife layed there unconscious on the floor, was pretty big proof of what he had done.

The doctor came out of Robin’s room and began to walk over to where Karasuma was waiting. The Doctor’s face was blank, making the woman think of the worst scenario, but she hoped she was jumping the gun on it.

The man stopped in front of the woman.
“ Mrs. Syunji is still unconscious at this time. She has a slightly broken nose and some heavy bruising on her back and facial area.” He said. “ We have no other indication of broken bones or anything either.”
“ The baby?”
“ It is quite stressed, but seems to be alright for now.” The Doctor began, his eyebrows raising a little on his long face. “ There is no telling really at this point what, if any, ramifications will come out of this ordeal. All we can do now is watch and wait.”

Karasuma lowered her head and give a great sigh. This was not happening, she told herself. Reality was a bitch right now.
“ Is Robin going to be ok?” She asked, collecting herself.
“ We will not know until Mrs. Syunji regains consciousness, but I will suspect that she might have a concussion at the very least.”
“ That is al you can tell me?” She said, perplexed at the very short answer he had given her.
“ For the time being... yes!”

With that, the Doctor just looked at the woman, then proceeded to walk away without another word.

Miho sat down on one of the benches that lined the room. She just had gone through this when the cops were here, then all of this. She knew now, that she had one more place to inform of this situation, and she was not looking forward to this one the most of all. She stood up, and she walked off pulling her car keys from her long coat pocket.

The people at the STN needed to hear this. She had done a reading of the room with her ability, and had seen the power flux that had happened. She did not want to admit it, but it was very clear from what had came to her was all too real. There was no way to deny what she had picked up... Amon had Awakened

Miho arrived aback at the offices, and immediately informed the Chief of just what had happened. Other ears were hearing the woman reporting, but a silence blanketed the room. It was the blanketing of disbelief.

The Chief just got on the phone after the woman had told him everything. He shooed her away, as she seemed to be nervous about whoever he was phoning. Karasuma just complied, and headed over to where the tree coworkers were gathered.

Haruto was the first to pipe in on it.
“ I cant believe that Mr. Amon would do such a thing.” He said with a air of surprise in his voice.
“ I scryed the area, Haruto...” She said in a tired tone. “ I saw it.”
“ This is all so unusual for Amon... he would never hurt Robin, or the baby.” Chimed in Dojima, half in protest.

Miho sat down with a plop in her chair, she could not believe all of this either.
“ He ran from the hospital, and left Robin bleeding on the floor in his hospital room.” She said, dredging up the facts. “ I do not want to believe this ether, but the fact speak loudly... He did it, and he has awakened.”

She looked at the sullen face of the hacker lad, the only one who had not said anything yet. She could see something going on inside the young man’s head, almost like a battle that raged deep inside.

She sat straight in her chair and looked at the youth.
“ You have not said anything on it yet?” She asked, looking at the spiky haired kid.
“ Nothing to say.” he said in response, his voice flat and non-emotional.
“ What do you think, is what I’m asking you, Michael.” Clarified the hunter woman.

The youth turned his head slowly, and looked right into the woman’s face. She could see better that a battle raging in the brown eyes of the computer whiz.
“ Right now... I don’t have anything to say to it in any way.” He said, his voice not having one hint of inflection. “ This is all way too strange.”

Miho nodded and let the lad just go back into his thoughts. The lad was right, this was all too strange to comprehend. She rubbed her eyes, half heatedly wishing that this all could be just one bad nightmare. If it was, she could just wake up and all of it would be gone. Real nightmares are just way too hard to comprehend.

The four people just fell silent for the longest time. They had been through so much together, but this was about to blow their world to kingdom come. The facts don’t lie, even though they all hoped that tis was all just a misunderstanding. Maybe the facts were being misinterpreted. Doubts about that were many, and the hope was not there.

The chief came in to the room, after what seemed to be a long time. The Man’s face was ashen white, as he made his way to where the others had congregated around at the very back of the computer area.
“ Listen up everyone...” He said with a stern voice. “ I had to inform headquarters of both the STN and SOLOMON on tis incident involving Amon and Robin. They are saddened and horrified at what has transpired.”
“What did they have to say to it?” Asked Michael, his face still showing no emotions on it.”

The man shifted, as if he was reading himself for the next part. An air of tension loomed over the room.
“ With Amon’s awakening, I have no choice but to tell you....” He paused. “ That the order has come down from the highest reaches in out organization and SOLOMON... we are ordered to hunt Amon.”

No one spoke, as the man just turned and hurried back to his desk. The man was eager just to get away as fast as she could.

The news was not unexpected, yet it was still a shock to everyone in the room. They looked at one another, their faces were all a pallor of white.
“ We Hunt one of our own.” Whispered Michael, looking at Miho.
“ I don’t think I can...” Was her statement, her own body shivering with the revelation handed to them all.
“ We are going to have to.” Said the lad, sternly, then his face turned snow white. “ My question is that if Robin regains consciousness...
“ Would she have to hunt her own husband?” Miho said, finishing the youth’s words.
“ They would not make her... would they?”
“ They are making us.” Pointed out Karasuma, her own voice beginning to have no emotions.
“ They would not...” Began Dojima, as she listened in to the conversation in front of her.

Michael turned and looked right into the blond lady’s eyes.
“ They just might, like Miss Karasuma said.”

The people of the STN all fell into a uneasy silence. The reality of the situation had just grown, and had exploded on their faces. They hunt one of their own, while another is in the hospital because of the one they hunt. Loyalty was being crushed under the large boot of their work.
