"I suppose you have a point. As long as it's okay with Kihara, I don't mind," Dad said.
Kahiri looked to me pulling the puppy dog eyes trick, and I had no choice but to give in because I simply couldn't fight the effects.
"Fine you can come Onee-chan," I said testing out the effect of using her nickname for me on her.
"Onee-chan you just called me Onee-chan! I'm so happy! Yeay!" she squeeled.
"I take it you like the nickname then Onee-chan?" I said.
"Yes! I love it! So you really want me to come with you guys?" she asked.
"Well, it would be helpful to have you there. I really don't know what's in style. That and I never had to deal with the 'feminan necesities' that you were talking about. Basically Onee-chan I need your help," I said hating admitting that I need help.
"I will definatly grant you my help Onee-chan," she said.
With that we followed Dad out of the house leaving Nii-san and Nee-san in our wake. Once outside Dad led us to the garage, and inside there were five cars. A convertable Mustang GTO, a convertable Corvet, a convertable Viper, a Hummer, and a 1965 Shelby Mustang GT 350 R.
"Wow! Who do these belong to?" I asked truely impressed.
"The Shelby Mustang is mine, the Hummer is Chikato's, the Corvet is Hikana's, Kahiri claimed the Viper, which leaves you with the GTO," Dad said.
"Mine? You have a care for me and Onee-chan?" I asked astonished.
"Yup. Since there aren't enough seats in the Shelby for all of us, why don't you drive Kihara?" he asked.
"But Onee-chan probably doesn't know how to drive," Onee-chan complained.
"She'll learn. If anyone asks just lend her your permit," he said.
"But Onee-chan has blue eyes not green," she complained further.
"We'll just say they mixed up the eye color when you two went to get your permits," he reasoned.
"Or you could simply let me drive," she begged.
"Nope, Kihara has to get experience in sometime," he said and held out his hand for her permit.
She sighed in defeat and handed over her permit which he handed to me. We all climbed into my GTO. Dad handed me the keys and I just kind of wung it. I slid the key into the ignition and turned it to start the car.
"Okay, this lever shifts gears, this pedal makes the car move, and this pedal stops the car," Dad explained.
I reved the engine with the gas pedal then hit the break to shift gears. After I shifted into reverse and slowly backed out of the garage; I backed onto the road then shifted into drive and drove down the road in the direction Dad directed me. It was amazing how experienced I was when this was my first time and I hadn't even watched anyone drive. I was directed to the mall praking lot.
"Wow Onee-chan! When did you learn to drive?" Onee-chan asked.
"I didn't know the first thing about driving until Dad just told me," I confessed.
"Well you're still really good. So Dad which store are we going to first?" Onee-chan asked.
"Lets try Kohls," Dad replied.
"I love that store! The clothes are to die for! Come on Onee-chan!" Onee-chan said dragging me into the mall and into an elevator, pressing L3 as soon as Dad go in.
I spun around and looked out the glass front so that I could check out the rest of the mall. There were a total of six levels, and probably a hundred stores per floor.
"Now. Kihara, I just want to inform you that when we're shopping don't, I repeat don't look at the price tags just pick out the clothes you like. I'm not worried about price. I just want you to have as much as you like of whatever you like," Dad said.
"Wait. Did you just say price isn't a problem?" I asked finally turning back around to face the two of them.
"Yes. Just get whatever you like," he repeated.
"This is what it's like whenever you hit a growth spert Onee-chan. Isn't it wanderful?" Onee-chan squeeled yanking my out of the elevator toward Kohls.
When we got inside I couldn't help but look baffled. I was so used to seeing old fashioned Japanese clothing that seeing the clothes in this store had me in shock.
"Onee-chan are you okay?" Onee-chan asked.
"Yeah, I'm just so used to seeing clothes from Inuyasha that this stuff looks like scraps of matterial," I explained.
Onee-chan just laughed and pulled me over to the dresses and I was releaved to find that at least some of the modern clothes were somewhat similar to what I was used to.
By the time we finished at Kohls I had: three t-shirts, five three quarter sleeve shirts, four long sleeve shirts, seven hoodies, four pairs of jeans, three pairs of shorts, six skirts, nine dresses, a purse, and ten sets of pajamas. I was then dragged off to JC Pennys. There I got: five more t-shirts, three more long sleeve shirts, two more pairs of jeans, four more pairs of shorts, two more skirts, another dress, and three more sets of pajamas. Then at Clairs I got: six pairs of earings, four rings, ten bracelettes, a jewelary box, and five necklaces. When we went to Bath and Body I got: a brush, stengthening Pantine shampoo, and smoothing Pantine conditioner. At Staples I got: a cellphone, a 6GB Netbook, a 24" HD TV, a DVD player, a karioke machine, and a 16 GB flashdrive.
Finally we took a break for lunch and went in serch of anything that smelled good. I honestly couldn't tell you what I had or how it tasted because I wasn't really paying attention to my food. I had spotted a really cute guy three tables away and couldn't keep my eyes off of him, and I could swear that he was looking back at me. He had sparkling green eyes, and soft golden spikes that framed his face. He was wearing a wife beater, white cargo shorts, white socks, and white tenis shoes.
"The one with blue eyes is Liano and the one with green eyes is Tikato," Onee-chan said startling me out of my daydream, "They've been following us ever since we entered Kohls."
"How do you know them?" I asked not taking my eyes off of Tikato.
"They're in our year in school," she said simply.
"Who are you girls talking about?" Dad asked then following my eyes, "Ah, you've spotted Liano and Tikato Kirisuto. They're good boys. Their dad's a doctor."
"What does their dad have to do with anything?" I asked a little confused.
"Nothing, Dad just loves to judge people by their parents, older siblings, the people that raised them, or what he's heard about them. It's really annoying, but I get through it by ignoring his opinions and just making my own judgement. How about you?" Onee-chan asked.
"Oh, trust me Dad can't make my desicions for me I make my own. So Onee-chan, what do you think about them?" I asked.
"They're only the hottest and nicest guys in school. Well, maybe tied for second hottest. The first is Junketsu Tamashii. I'll show you when we get to school," she said.
"Speaking of school, we've got to get you over to see if you're ready to start high school. Once we figure that out we can take you both to take some entrance exams. And we have to take you to get your own permit then licence," Dad said.
"Yeay raw, more tests," I said sarcastically.
"That's the spirit, now let's get out of here," Dad said.
Once we finished lunch we headed back out to the car. Dad offered to drive so that it wouldn't look suspicious when we went to get my licence. We pulled up to the DMV and went in. Onee-chan sat and waited while Dad and I went up to one of the ladies at the counter.
"Well, hello there. Are you coming to take the test for your licence Kahiri?" asked the lady.
"No, this is Kihara. She's here to get her permit," Dad explained.
"Well then, I'll need her birth certificate, social security card, and proof of residence," she said.
"Just let me check my wallet," Dad said checking the pockets of his wallet, "Here you go."
The lady checked the papers then gave me a packet and a pencil and told me to fill it out. I went over to the chairs with little pull out desks attached and filled out the test. When I was finished I went back to the lady to hand her my test. She took it over to the machine to see how many questions I missed.
"Well, well, well. You must've been studying for a long time. You didn't miss even one question. Come over here and I'll take your picture, get your signature, and then you can be on your marry way," she said.
I went over and got my picture taken, then I signed the signature pad, and after a few minutes I had my very own permit. Dad drove us to a government building so that I could take another test to see if I was able to enter a high school.
After thousands of tests it was finally decided that I was smart enough to go to high school. We left there and went to dozens of high schools to take entrence exams. Once we finished those we went to get some school supplies. We got at least twenty spiral notebooks, twenty folders, ten packs of loose leaf paper, a binder, a two strap backpack, a graphing calculator, and a whole bunch of pens and pencils for Onee-chan and I.
