"It's blatantly obvious that those two don't want to go back to Farfallas," Suzuka spoke after Gene and Jim had left the bridge.

"Mrow, what the hell happened at Farfallas anyway?" Aisha asked. Melfina bit her lip. She was about to tell the story when Gilliam cleared his throat, that is, the computer made the sound of clearing his throat.

"I'll explain it to them Melfina," Gilliam offered.

"Thanks Gilliam," the bio-android said gratefully.

"I was being kept inside of an asteroid that orbited Farfallas. Gene, Jim, and Melfina, along with Hilda, came and activated me, but pirates had found out that they were there. Of course, we found out later that the MacDougall brothers were the ones to lead the pirates to my location."

"I'm assuming a battle took place?" Suzuka asked.

"Yes. Hilda had to abandon her ship, but unfortunately, we couldn't rescue her and she, along with another pirate, died."

"No wonder...Gene must blame himself for Hilda's death," Suzuka said.

"That's just stupid, it was the pirates' fault," Aisha hissed.

"But he does blame himself, Aisha," Melfina said after coming out of her tank. "Jim Too."

"Huh? Why Jim?"

"He couldn't get the seals off of the engines quick enough," Melfina said.

"Seals?" Aisha asked.

"It's an old space forces tradition," Gilliam informed.

"Stupid..." Aisha began to say but realized that there was one Terran in the room and one who was designed to look like a human so she held her tongue.

"Then come along, we must inform our boys that they are acting foolish," Suzuka said with a smile. Melfina followed with Aisha bounding right behind them.

"I don't want to go back there," Gene began. The two were standing outside Gene's quarters.

"You think I want to go back there?" Jim retorted.

"The problem is...I've got this sickening feeling that we're flying into a trap. I'm tempted to turn this ship around and head out for unknown space, but there's no way we could survive outside of the frontier."

"Plus, they'd throw us in jail for the next forty years," Jim added.

"Will you two stop blaming yourselves," Suzuka began as the three women approached the two outlaws.

"Yeah, it was those damn pirates' fault and the MacDougall brothers," Aisha added, pulling her blond to her.

"It wasn't your fault," Melfina added quietly, hugging the red headed outlaw. Suzuka leaned up against his side and Gene sighed.

"I think we're outnumbered," Gene said to Jim with a smirk.

"Sometimes, you got to know when to surrender," Jim relayed.

"I hate to interrupt," Gilliam began.

"Then don't," Gene quipped.

"But the fleet is ready to jump back into normal space," Gilliam reported and Gene sighed.

The alliance fleet came out of sub-ether. The Terran general smiled. The trans-ether drives that the fleet had allowed the fleet to beat their enemy here.

"Sir, another fleet is emerging from the far side of the sun!" a tactical officer shouted.

"What!?" the general shouted and the screen displayed more Sith and Rorgan ships, but these hadn't been involved with the fight at Angel Links I.

"Fleet wide red alert, tell the Ctarl ships to deploy...we'll smash this fleet then jump back to sub-ether," the general ordered.

888

"Grrr....knew this was a bad idea!" Gene shouted.

"Just keep fighting!" Jim barked out. He was having trouble countering all the missiles that were coming at them from multiple directions. Grappler ships weren't built for this kind of combat.

888

"Hah! break their lines!" the Ctarl general barked out. His ships were having more effect as their energy weapons and energy shields kept them in the fight longer.

"Damn,"

"What?" the general asked, turning to his first officer.

"The other fleet that we were chasing is here...they are heading for the sun."

"What the fuck are they doing?" the general growled.

888

"Sir, several of the larger Sith ships are firing odd missiles at the sun," the tactical officer reported.

"What are...?" he began but a massive explosion blinded the bridge crew.

"Sir! Whatever those missiles were, it has stopped all nuclear fusion within Farfallas...it's going to nova any second!" the science officer reported.

888

"Give the Terran ships time to jump!" the Ctarl general shouted. The Ctarl ships were doing a far better job this time, but with the star about to go nova, it gave an advantage to the enemy.

"Three minutes!" the first officer shouted.

"C'mon, c'mon!" he growled.

888

Ship after ship jumped back into sub-ether, but the Sith and Rorgans weren't going to let their prey get away so easily. The enemy ships tried every tactic to disrupt any sub-ether jump. The Ctarl flagship came up to the Terran flagship, which was unable to make a jump, locked on a magnetic beam, and as one, the Ctarl fleet jumped. a moment later, the Sith and Rorgans jumped and Farfallas went Nova.

888

"Thanks for rescuing us. I don't think my ship could have jumped before Farfallas exploded," the Terran general said.

"Hey, had you bit the big one I'd be put in full command of this fleet. Where are we going?"

"Blue Heaven...it's the only place we can go at the moment. We lost a good number of ships...how many..."

"Not as many as you did, but most of your losses were grappler ships...what the fuck is wrong with that class of ship?"

"They can't handle multiple opponents very easily...it would take a grappler with several sets of grappler....hmmmm..." the general went into thought and his Ctarl counterpart smirked.

888

"That was too close, damage report," Gene breathed out.

"Engines normal, but the grappler arms are almost completely useless," Gilliam reported.

"Damn Sith," Gene let out.

"Now you know how my people feel about them," Aisha commented and Gene slumped in his chair.

"What happened back there?" Gene asked.

"They fired some sort of a missile into Farfallas and it stopped all nuclear fusion within the star," Jim explained.

"That means that they could destroy any solar system they wanted," Suzuka commented and Gene rubbed his temples. This war was going to be long and complicated.

888

The manager of Blue Heaven looked out his office's window. The fleet was coming. The other races had relented to give the fleet permission to doc and make repairs. However, they couldn't not stay and turn Blue Heaven into another military base. Unfortunately, while they were here, it was going to be a military base and the head of Blue Heaven didn't like that, even though the maintenance people wanted the extra work. Seeing the fleet come out of sub-ether, the manager sighed and prepared himself to receive the two generals and their fleets.
