Burying Bones
I Found You.
Six Months Later
A blinding flash of orange and tan races by the house, followed soon after by another. Alex walks after them, along with Arkanon, and their son, the shiny Growlithe hybrid. As Conleth watches his siblings, he catches a scent in the air. As he turns, he sees his aunt walking hand in hand with Jade and Jeovi following closely.
“Aunt Saki! Can I have a cookie?” Conleth asks; his human speech already as good as his Pokéspeak. Arkanon growls softly at the boy, reminding him that it’s almost dinner time. As Conleth turns and howls, Cerberus and Layla stop playing to return to their mother’s side.
“Momma, Cerberus blew fire at me!” Layla exclaims, her hybrid features already beginning to show. She walks on two legs and has almost human looking hair. Her fur is closer to flesh coloring and her hands have begun to shift from paws. Cerberus on the other hand looks like a normal Growlithe.
“No way, Mom, Layla’s lying!” Cerberus yells, almost knocking his sister over. Conleth grabs onto his mother’s leg, hiding behind her. Conleth looks almost like a normal human boy, only his ears, tail, and eyes giving him away, along with his golden hair. Arkanon and Alex were surprised to find the differences in hybridization appearing so early in their children, most hybrids not “evolving” into their human forms until they went through their first heat.
“Sweetheart, what have I told you about being mean to your sister?” Alex asks, looking pointedly at Cerberus. The little pup lowers his ears and rolls onto his back, showing submission to his mother.
“You told me to be nice to her, and be nice to Conleth.” Cerberus replies, a soft whimper echoing in his voice. As the hybrid pup rises to his feet, he’s immediately tackled by his sister, the more humanoid Growlithe snarling as she grips her brother’s neck with her teeth. Conleth continues clinging to his mother, the only reaction he gives is of fear.
As Saki leads the kids back inside, Alex and Arkanon look into the forest, an uneasy feeling washing over the human girl as her mate stands proudly at her side, his fur shining in the setting sun’s light like a blazing flame. From the darkness, a pair of glowing red eyes watches the family, a vicious smile plays across a shadowed face.
“At last, I’ve found you. You’re mine Jeovi.”
A/N: Yeah a pitifully short chapter I know, I have classes and a bunch of other things going on, so if you wish to flame me go ahead, I'm trying to write this story, but my muses seem as reluctant as I am to continue. Anyway, until next time. WWMH out.
