'Damn it. Another version of my evasive program down the drain. If Mr. Laurie hadn't piled all that work on me I would be making some headway by now. The simulations I've run haven't worked. Josh ponders looking at the results of the last simulation he had run. He then hears the familiar beeping sound of his Sigma detector. "Well, I guess it's time for a distraction." he says to himself as he suits himself up.

"Good, come to me little Karthing. You'll find out that I've jammed any way for you to contact the others." Sigma-Black says to himself as he flexes his metallic arm. The plan that he, Sian, and that dumb creature that impersonates a bat was simple. Sigma-Black would lure the Karthing boy to him. At the same time, Sian would attract the three mages while Akurax deals with the two warriors. These three battles would then eventually converge in the park where all three, plus the demon card, would crush the group of wannabe heroes.

"You sensed it too Lee?" Sakura asks as the two follow their magical senses to the park.
"Yeah, it looks like Sian wants another crack at us. Have you been able to contact the others?" Lee asks as Eli approaches the dashing pair.
"No. Hey Eli," Sakura greets hurriedly.
"Well, looks like my brother is throwing us a party." Eli states smiling as Spinner hangs on for dear life to his master.
"I still don't like the fact that we can't get in touch with Wulf or Josh. To make matters worse Meilin decided to spend sometime at Wulf's place." Lee states.
"I don't know why my cell phone is only picking up static. We'll just have to go it alone." Sakura says as the trio slows down. "On the bright side, Madison won't be in the line of fire if this is a trap."
"This has got all the signs of a trap. If Sigma-Black is attacking as well he might have jammed any cell phone communication." Kero states.
"I have to agree with my counterpart, master. If this is a trap...," Spinner says but Eli stops him.
"We've got no choice. If the demon card is released on the public it'll cause chaos." Eli says cutting off any protests.

"Young Karthing, you're not dealing with a bitter man like Dr. Fermont. Your dealing with a Soviet that can adapt. Now, let's begin." he says firing a black mini-missile at Josh who puts up his shield.

"Good evening, dear brother. I'm glad you and these two vermin could join me tonight. Now, demon card dispense with these two young mages." he says touching his staff to the fiery red card. The hoofed beast charges at Lee and Sakura who roll away from each other to get away from the card while Eli and Sian start to throw spells at each other.

"Funny, your aim seems to be no better!" Sigma says firing his own laser.
'How did Skynet block all wireless transmissions? I hope I'll be able to drive Sigma off by myself.' Josh thinks firing off another mini-missile.

"Can the two of you do no better?" Akurax taunts. "You haven't been able to get mere me to use that makeshift stake of yours, Drumhilde." This infuriates Meilin who charges but is caught and thrown aside like a rag doll. Wulf makes another charge at Akurax hoping to gore him on the blade end of his hammer. Akurax grabs the handle and the two have another test of strength.
"Where's your master, Akurax?" Wulf asks trying to wrench his weapon away from the vampire.
"He's busy. You'll just have to settle for me." Akurax responds not giving in.
"Busy doing what?"
"Oh wouldn't you like to know," Akurax says conspiratorially. He then feels Meilin grab ahold of the handle as well. The extra force allows the pair to overpower the vampire and free the hammer. Meilin aims a kick at Akurax's abdomen while Wulf attempts to use the hammerhead end to crush Akurax's skull in. Akurax avoids the hammer blow, but Meilin's swift kick knocks him to the ground.
"I suggest you follow me if you don't want me to feast tonight!" Akurax shrieks out and transforms into a bat and flies off.
"Let's go," Wulf simply states and the pair follows the bat.

"I never understood why Fermont bothered going after your father. You should have been killed instead of kidnapped. I guess that's what I get for listening to an idiot!" Sigma says firing off another mini-missile.
"So that's why you broke your alliance with Dr. Fermont? You had conflicting ideas for handling me." Josh responds taking out the missile with his laser.
"That and the fact he found out too much about Skynet. A man with that much knowledge is useless." Sigma replies firing his own freeze ray. This fight was pushing his arm's abilities to the limit.
"Is that why your now working with Sian Reed?"
"Why don't you follow me and see if your theory is correct." Sigma-Black states activating his rocket pack and blasting away. Josh quickly jumps onto his flying disk and follows.

Since it was someone of evil killing the so-called dark apprentice, the demons that he made that deal with couldn't invade this world. You've never been able to kill. That'll be your downfall." Sian says as he sees that the demon card was finally getting somewhere with the two younger mages.
"Please, stop this madness brother." Eli says pleadingly.
"I've not even begun what you call madness. Why don't you take a look behind you." Sian says smirking.
"Like I'll fall for that...,Ahhh!" Eli screams as Akurax's fangs sink into his neck.
"That's right, go to sleep brother. Don't drain him to much, but you can leave a booby trap if they try to heal him, Akurax." Sian says to the vampire. Once his thirst was quenched he allowed Eli's body to fall to the ground. Meilin and Wulf come to see this and the two charge at the vampire. Spinner, seeing that his master was down, leave Lee, Sakura, and Keroberos to deal with the card. From the other side of the battle field Sigma-Black forces the two mages to separate again with a blast of his laser. This distraction allows the demon card to get the two mages off their feet. The sound of a mini-missile is heard as Sigma-Black dodges the weapon fired by Josh.
"I've guess that the lot of you had an idea that the three of us were working together, but you didn't have the proof. You're useless attempts of defeating us will not work." Sian says smirking as the demon card teleports beside him.
"With Skynet working again there's no hope for you heroes." Sigma says landing on the other side of Sian with Akurax, in bat form, lands on Sian's right shoulder.
"Now demon card, finish them off!" Sian says smirking.

'I can't believe that dark brother of my former master did this to me. My other form was perfectly fine. "You're giving them an advantage that may come back to haunt us later." Sigma says giving a look to Sian.
"Beating them like we did was what I wanted. I wasn't going for the kill today. They'll pick themselves back up and will want to get back at us. Their thirst for revenge will drive them to make a mistake and we'll capitalize." Sian explains.
"And if they don't?" Sigma asks.
"We're not the only problem that those heroes have to deal with. Lee's family's elders want Shaoran and Meilin to marry. Those fools don't realize that the card mistress's powers are just as good as someone that was actually born from a magical blood line." Sian explains sitting back down in a comfortable chair.
"What is the next step going to be?" sigma asks.
"An official challenge," Sian states with Akurax sitting up in puzzlement.
"A fair fight overseen by the higher powers...,why?" Akurax asks.
"Simple, it'll be the best place for my brother to finally fall at my feet and beg for mercy. The others will be so demoralized that we'll walk all over them." Sian says smirking.
"But a fair fight...," Akurax complains but Sian stops his complaint.
"You forget that once combat begins victory is guaranteed only by either one side giving up, running away, or if one side loses consciousness. Winning means that they'll lose some of their powers and natural abilities. The fools will get them back, but by the time that happens it'll be too late for the rest of the world. If those fools manage to win the same will go for us, but if you leave Skynet on stand-by mode it won't be effected. Since it isn't consider "alive" by the higher powers your super computer could continue to attack them. A loop hole that works to our favor." Sian explains smirking.
"So even by a fluke that we lose we could keep Skynet out of the fight and use its power to crush them afterwards! Perfect!" Sigma says and the two laugh.
"We must make preparations. Find a battlefield that'll give us a slight home field advantage. Akurax, how long will it take for you to integrate my brother's powers?" Sian asks.
"This won't take as long as my last victim. Give me a day or so and I'll be able to fight." Akurax responds.
"Excellent," Sian says linking his fingers together.

"It's all right, you were trying to preserve your brother's life without destroying him." Sakura says smiling.
"His life is no longer worth preserving." Eli states coldly and the shock crosses everyone's faces.
"You are going for the kill?" Lee asks.
"Yes, and if I don't survive I'll make sure that you and Sakura can finish him off in my place. The two of you together can overcome Sian. With the others helping you you'll be able to defeat my brother's insane minions." Eli explains.
"I don't see how since we've just been crushed." Sakura says depressed.
"We're still standing, Avalon." Meilin starts in on her. "You've now got the healing card on your side. We can still beat them within an inch of their lives."
"Meilin is right, we've come this far, so we shouldn't get discouraged just because those three planned that so well." Wulf adds.
"They're right, Sakura." Eli says quietly. "This is a setback that we must bounce back from."
