14: Kujou Mujou

Chapter 14
14: Kujou Mujou

A/N: Forgive the shorty chapter! ;_;

She stared fearfully out her window, noting the grayness overwhelming the city. It was a sign of her approaching demise. Her hair hung loosely around her shoulders, knotted together from her fret of not fulfilling her father’s revenge. Dark violet rings under her eyes made her appear much older than what she seemed. For the thirtieth time that afternoon, she ran her fingers through the knots in her hair, pulling out strands of blood along the way. She leaned forward until she placed her brow against the glass. “I’ve failed you father.”

“Isn’t that a shame, Ms. Kujou?”

Kujou peered behind her at the voice’s owner with little acknowledgment. She already knew who it was before he had stepped into her office. I guess that’s a benefit of being a murderer alter user, sixth sense. She smirked weakly. “I knew you’d somehow figure out that you had that chip in your head.”

“Of course. It’s kind of hard to ignore something that rattles around in your head and comes out of your nose!” Kazuhou growled. He couldn’t explain it, but the woman that he used to follow seemed to have a strange glow about her. She resembled a convict ready to accept their punishment with a sad smile. “I’ll just end your life now and get it over with!” He stared down at the floor where the security guard’s blood had washed over and dried. “Dangan!” He beckoned.

Part of the floor and wall disintegrated from behind him and gathered around an invisible form. Two ribbons shot out from thin air, aimed directly at the woman standing behind her desk unfazed. They passed mere inches from her face and stabbed into the window, causing it to crack and shatter. The red ribbons retracted to their owner’s sides and waited for their next charge.

“Ryuma’s and your chips were supposed to be linked together so you could attack together.” Kujou explained incoherently. “I thought it’d make you happy.” Her eyes wavered as she focused on a point behind the teen’s left shoulder. “You two were like my own children, and yet this is how you repay me?”

Kazuhou cringed. “You would never be like our mother. A mother would never plant microchips in her children’s craniums for them to destroy someone else. You’re nothing like a mother.” He gasped. What was that? Something fell onto the floor. It was his tears. He viciously wiped at his eyes and sobbed.

“I realize that now. I guess I have no need for either of you.” She closed her eyes and grinned maliciously. “Serenity Blades!” With a heavy gust of wind, she threw her arms open and laughed.

The teen barely had any time to think before a sharp pain went through his left leg. Blood gushed from the wound he received, causing him to cry out. “Ah!” Two other blows went through his right arm and right leg. He collapsed onto his knees, unable to stand any longer. He grasped his injured arm and exclaimed at his avatar. “Dangaaaaaan!”

Dangan’s eyes flashed in response and thrust two rigid ribbons at the woman, stabbing her through the chest and head.

She let out an ear-piercing shriek before she fell back out of the shattered window and hit the hard ground below.

Kazuhou let out an exhausted gasp before fainting onto his side.

Kazuma reached the office just in time to see Dangan vanish. “Kazuhou!” He ran to the teen and held him up gently. “Kazuhou,” he whispered with concern. He glanced around the room, looking for anyone else. He suspected that the teen had done his job. But how? He noted the broken window and mustered an eyebrow. “Never mind,” he sighed. He held his son bridal style and carried him home.

Kanami faltered in the doorway, not wanting to leave Ryuma’s side. The poor teen had been through so much suffering, and as each minute passed, his pulse faded. She had called Ramsey over to help her, but it wasn’t much. Ryuma had lost so much blood, she wasn’t so sure if he was going to make it anymore. She couldn’t hold back the tears that gradually began to slide down the sides of her face. “Please, Ryuma…” She reluctantly closed the door and approached the living room where the others were waiting.

Kazuhou lied on the couch closest to the door, sleeping. Kazuma and Ryuhou sat on the opposite couch, holding each other. Ramsey sat in a recliner near the window, staring off into the distance with glazed over eyes. She sat down on the couch next to the two men and stared at them sorrowfully.

Kazuma looked up at her with a weak smile. “How’s he doing?”

Kanami smiled sadly. “I-I don’t know. His pulse keeps getting weaker.”

There was a noticeable flinch in the corner where Ramsey sat. “He can’t die!” He exclaimed as he stood up and peered out the window. It started raining suddenly, accompanied by blue-white lightening in the distance. He cursed the weather for crying for him.

Ryuhou stared at the back of Ramsey’s head. “She didn’t say Ryuma was going to die.”

“No, but that’s what she was implying,” Ramsey argued feebly. He turned away from the window and gazed at the other teen lying on the couch. “I’m going to check up on him.”

Kanami was about to protest, but a palm against her arm spoke otherwise. She faced Kazuma and stared at him for a short moment before nodding and slightly relaxing. However, she still kept her eye on the brunette as he descended the hall to Ryuma’s room.

Ramsey opened the door, the hinges objecting with a loud squall that caused him to cringe. Luckily, it was only loud to him because he was trying to be quiet. He entered the dark room, forgetting to close the door behind him, and perched himself on the chair next to Ryuma’s bed. He reached for the teen’s good hand and held it tenderly. Even through the darkness, he could see the boy’s face plainly. He was tempted to touch those pale cheeks and kiss the soft looking lips. He couldn’t help but notice that the teen was smiling. Was it a good sign? Probably not, but there was nothing Ramsey could do about it.

A/N: OMG!!! It’s a cliffhanger! Yes, I was definitely being evil on this part. However, the next chapter is all about Ryuma…and…yeah. You don’t need to know the rest. Oo;

Nanaka: Nooooo! She’s been cheating on me with another anime! ROFL! Nah, actually I know how you feel because I’ve been stuck on Naruto lately. Kisame x Itachi to be exact. *sigh* I know, it’s shameful.
