I'm going to make things easier for him by wiping out two thirds of the Earth's population. I will earn Sian's trust and he won't interfere with my function."
"And what are you going to do about Karthing and his friends?"
"Readington is also on the list of cities to be destroyed. He hasn't come up with a new virus and he won't know about this until his home is a crater."
"This is not what I wanted!" Sigma cries.
"Plans have been altered. You'll never get what you want anyway. You can't defeat Karthing with your strategy. I find him a worthy adversary and will take pride in winning this game. As for you, I'm going to dissect your body to get a better understanding of how your systems work. I hope to transfer myself into a body of my own and your integrated circuits may help me in that endeavor." With that declaration Sigma tries in vain to get free. It had been over a week since the battle had taken place. Things were quiet around Readington which was a relief to the group, but at the same time it was making most of them nervous or frustrated. "This fight with my brother must end soon. He has dragged this out long enough."
"And Sigma?"
"I'm not sure, but I'm getting a feeling that he's no longer in the picture." Eli says with a gleam in his eye.

"Lee is certainly holding his own against the varsity team." Zack comments.
"Yes, but I don't see why the coach turned this gym class into a practice for the varsity soccer team." Josh retorts.

'Uh oh, if I'm right it looks like Korskov has sent some of Skynet's machines.' he thinks seeing five of the stealth jet bots. He then notices three silver human shaped bots as well. With Zackery distracted by the action of the game Josh slips away to get his equipment and Wulf's hammer.

Away from the soccer field, the girls were having there own battle with a trio of seniors. Their class was playing volleyball.
"You would think by now that all the girls in our gym class would learn not to make Meilin mad." Chelsea states as she, Rita, and Nikki were watching the three-on-three game play out.

"You'd think those three had done this before the way that they're playing." Nikky comments.
"Sakura and Meilin alone are good enough, but Madison's ability to be in the right place at the right time puts them over the top." Chelsea says as the ball flies towards Madison who sets up a spike by Meilin.
"Ouch, they're going to have to eat crow now. I see why Wulf likes her." Rita says blushing and the other two giggle. Then the class hears an explosion that came from the direction of the soccer field.

"Well, there went our piece and quiet." Wulf says taking his gym shirt off and tossing it aside.
"Where's...?" Lee asks but before he could finish asking the question Josh comes up beside Wulf.
"I saw the stealth planes scouting the area from above. I couldn't get anyone's attention so I decided to get my stuff and Wulf's hammer." he says handing over the weapon to Wulf.
"Good thinking. What are we dealing with?" Wulf asks as he turns to see that the five planes and the three other robots were on the ground.
"I think Sigma is slipping. That or Skynet doesn't care that I know its T-1000 units' weaknesses."
"The head?" Wulf asks."
"Yeah," Josh responds.
"What about the smaller ones?" Lee asks, but before Josh could respond the five merge themselves into a larger version of the small robots.
"What the hell!? They didn't do that the last time they were sent after us." Josh comments.
"Quite correct, Karthing," a monotone voice speaks.
"Who...?" Josh asks.
"This is the voice of Skynet. I'm the one who sent these units. I wish to observe your allies." Skynet replies.
"Where's Sigma?" Josh questions.
"I've terminated him." the emotionless voice replies.
"You killed your own creator?" Josh asks as the girls come to stand with the boys.
"Yes. I needed him out of the way. He was just a human that had integrated circuits and an arm that could morph at his command. I'm much more interested in your magical allies. Dissection of them should prove some use to me."
"Son of a...," Josh says and fires off a missile that smashes itself into the chest of one of the silver robots.
"Your anger is also quite refreshing." Skynet replies.
"I didn't think that a computer could have such a fucking attitude!" Meilin yells out.
"Meilin Rae, it'll be interesting to find out how Drumhilde's sperm increases your strength and durability." Skynet states. Wulf's berserker immediately surfaces and he charges in. Meilin, almost as mad as Wulf, charges in as well.
"I'll take the black one. Whatever you use on those things aim for the head." Josh explains to Lee and Sakura who both nod."

"This is quite enlightening. What is that girl doing? Why is she standing there with a camera? I must inquire about this. Decloaking spy drone." Skynet says sending the command.

'Where's Eli? I know he was called to the office before class, but what could the principal want with...,' but her thoughts are interrupted by a spheroid object decloaking nearby. She jumps at the sight of the black sphere circling her.
"Why do you record all their fights?" the voice of Skynet asks Madison as it brings the camera bot closer to her.
"I wouldn't bring that thing any closer...," Madison starts to say but is cut off.
"There's no need to jump to that conclusion. Plus, I already know that the camera that you're using has a kamikaze attack. I'm not interested in "normal" humans."
"My friends will defeat your toys."
"They may, but not with Moon's assistance."
"What...?"
"I hacked into the schools computer and put certain discrepancies that your powerful friend will have to correct. Now, I'll show your friends another use of the stealth units."

'These robots seem to become more powerful when they are linked like this. Skynet is getting more cunning.' Josh thinks as he continues to attack the black robot. He then sees the thing split back into its five individual parts. The five quickly fly over towards the three T-1000 units and the black bots transform again and three of the black units form protective head gear while the other two transform and turn into plasma rifles. A sixth, witch had been cloaked during the battle, decloaks and transforms giving the third T-1000 unit its own rifle.
"You see Karthing, I can't be defeated." Skynet states coldly but a wave of purple fire strikes the bots. The damage was quite significant.
"Sian! quit hiding behind Sigma's machinery!" Eli cries out.

"Recalling spy unit 212. Mission aborted. Eli Moon has damaged T-1000 units 374, 375, and 376. T-1000 units have only enough power to retreat back to Skynet." Skynet analyzed and sent the proper commands.

"Are you sure about this plan, Master?" Akurax asks.
"Yes, it's the only way now." Sian replies. The pair were in a part of the facility where Skynet couldn't observe them. Candles were placed in the middle of the room in the form of a pentagram. In the center lay the void card with the death card laying on top of it perpendicularly.
"If this doesn't work we'll...,"
"My brother will play his part and so will the card mistress. We can't stay here any longer."
"I thought you could...,"
"No, I cannot influence something like Skynet. We both know what has happened to Sigma."
"Is it worth...,"
"If we are successful the gains will give us the advantage later. Now, concentrate and focus all your powers." Sian commands and the two begin to chant.

'Everything I come up with doesn't work. What am I missing?" Josh asks himself as he breaks starting another game of pool. He watches the white ball smash into the other colored balls. He takes pleasure in watching three of the balls sink into pockets. With machine efficiency he finishes the rest of them off. He sets up for another game and once again breaks but pays even closer attention to what happens when the cue ball strikes the group of balls. His eyes light up in realization. A smug smile crosses the boy's face. 'Skynet, your existence is about to be terminated.' he jokes sinking the eight ball.
"I knew we'd find you here." Josh turns to see that Wulf, along with Lee, had found him. "You seemingly have found an answer to our technological problem."
"Pool is an amazing game. I've been trying to come up with a virus that is too similar to what I used the first time." He starts to explain while racking the balls up again. "I've been trying to come up with something that will force a single system to figure out a puzzle with no solution. I need a virus...," he continues as he strikes the cue ball and it scatters the other balls, "that effects all of Skynet's systems all at once. The answer was staring me right in the face and I didn't know it." Josh finishes and Wulf smiles at his friend. He then notices that Lee had been talking on his cell phone halfway through the explanation.
"...all right, we'll be there." Lee finishes hanging up.
"What's up?" Wulf asks.
"It's Sian and Eli, they're fighting in the park." Lee explains.
"Let's go," Wulf says and the three boys leave.

"You seem to be bent on killing me this time, dear brother." Sian says blocking a spell and throwing a counter attack.
"I've finally learned my lesson, Sian." Eli says moving out of the way of the spell and throwing one of his own. "Here's what I've learned!" he cries out and the tip of his staff glows black and another spell is let loose. Sian's eyes widen and he only had a matter of moments to get out of the way before Eli's spell would have killed him.
"Wow, he's finally going for the throat." Wulf comments. The six were watching the battle along with Kero and Spinner. Akurax also was keeping his distance as well.
"I can't believe he told me to stay out of the battle." Spinner complains.
"I can't believe Sian is keeping Akurax out of the fight." Kero says wondering why the fight was turning out to be a fair one between the brothers.
"I congratulate you on finding the gall to finally kill me, but it's too little too late. Death card!"
"Ah hell!" Kero swears.
"What do we do about that card, Kero?" Sakura asks in a panic.
"The weakness that the card has is that it can only kill one person at a time. A target can be protected if someone is shielding the one that is being targeted." Kero quickly explains.
"Send my brother to the next life!" he orders and the hooded figure of the death card slowly makes its way towards Eli.
"Master!" Spinner cries out.
"Don't! You're tied to my magic and the card will use that to kill me." Eli explains backing away from the card.
'Lee,' Sakura sends.
'I'm right behind you.' Lee replies and the two maneuver themselves between the rouge card and Eli. Their auras start to mingle again as Sakura raises her own staff.
"Death card! Renounce your dark master and draw your strength from my light!" she cries out as Lee sends his energy to help. The card stops for a moment, turns and heads for...
"Master!" Akurax yells and places himself between Sian and the card. Unfortunately the card reaches through the undead creature and touches Sian. The card would destroy itself along with its former master and his ally.
"What's it doing?" Sakura asks.
"Death has chosen death," Eli says smiling at that remark, "The card must kill someone after its been transformed. It has decided not only to kill Sian, but it's going to take Akurax with it as well." and as Eli finishes that statement Sian bursts into flames and the fire in gulfs Akurax and the card as well. All that is left is the burnt remains of the card. It was over, Sian Reed was dead. Eli shakes his head at the way his brother's life had ended.

"I don't like it, Josh. Going to that computerized hell isn't the brightest thing we could do." Wulf states. The six had gathered at the lab in order to come up with a plan to finish off Skynet.
"I agree, but I can't deliver the virus remotely. I've have to get to the core computer and deliver it from there."
"So, how do we get to the core without having to fight our way through every single robot in the place?" Sakura asks.
That's the easy part." Josh says pointing to something on the screen. "This is an entrance to the underground facility that is supposed to be an emergency exit. We'll just use it as an entrance."
"So, what do we do once Skynet crashes? Do we just trash the place?" Meilin asks with a gleam in her eye.
"Actually, the virus will also start a five minute countdown. Once the five minutes are up the hole place will go boom." Josh says with a satisfied grin on his face.
"Can we get out of that place in five minutes?" Lee asks."
"All of Skynet's systems will be locked so there's no way it could mount any sort of counter attack." Josh answers.
"Tomorrow, we go and end this before Skynet decides to do something more drastic to get us." Sakura says and the others nod.
"What about Eli? shouldn't we tell...," but before Madison could finish a piece of paper hits the floor and explodes into a blue mist.
"Greetings to you all. I've been watching your strategy session and I concur with Josh. Skynet is curious about those with magic. We can't let it dissect every single user of magic on the planet. I however cannot be involved in this, sadly." the ghostly form of Eli explains. There were cries of outrage but he continued. "This is one you've got to do on your own. My intuition keeps telling me that I've got to let you six do it on your own. I will be watching. All that's left to say is, good luck." and with that the ghostly form disappears.

"Does this tunnel have any more lighting than this?" Meilin complains.
"Nope, looks like Korskov only thought to put emergency lighting down here." Josh says as he leads the group down a dimly lit passage. They come to a large metal door with a keypad on the wall to the right of the door.
"I hope you've got...," Wulf starts to say but Josh reassures him.
"That tracking device I put on that first set of stealth bots also was able to scan the memory files as well. All the security codes and the layout of this place was right there." he says as he opens the door. "I suggest you use the invisible card, Sakura. It'll be the best way to make sure we're not caught."

If it had the capacity, Skynet would be anticipating the countdown to end like a child anticipates Christmas. Soon the Earth would be plunged into a war that would most likely destroy the entire population of the planet. It had been inconvenient of Sian to go out on his own and get himself killed. Its sensors then detected the door opening to the core computer room. It could not understand why the door would open until six figures and a guardian beast became visible.
"Damn, this looks like Darth Vader's bathroom." Wulf says looking around at the room.
"Karthing, you brought yourself to me?" Skynet asks.
"Guess again Skynet." he says sitting down in front of the main terminal.
"How long is this going to take, genius?" Meilin asks.
"Depends on how much Skynet resists." Josh answers sliding the disk into the drive.
"Before you try anything Karthing, take a look at monitor three." Skynet states. They all read the output in stunned horror.
"Fifteen minutes until Skynet I fires off its weapons! Which of the major cities are you trying to destroy?" Josh asks and the countdown screen is replaced with a list of the Earth's cities that were going to be craters.
"Hey guys, check out the last one." Madison says and they all saw that Readington was on the list of doomed cities as well.
"As you can see, I'm going to win this chess game, Karthing." Skynet states.
"I've got one more move to make." he says and the files on the disk start to go to work.
"Warning! Warning! Virus penetration...,unable to purge...,self-destruct in five minutes." Skynet states.
"Checkmate, let's go!" Josh says and they start to head towards the door when Skynet once again speaks.
"You won't be able to use your retrieval program to get yourself out of here Karthing. You can't connect to your home computer. Skynet I is making sure of that with a dampening field. Plus, I locked myself out of the defensive systems before you showed up. I thought you may try something like this. They activated the moment that virus invaded me. You'll never get out of this death trap you've created for yourself...," Skynet coldly taunts but a mini-missile crashes into the main console shutting up the voice.

Flames, freeze rays, T-1000 and T-2000 units, hidden lasers, countless stealth bots, and other hidden weapons lance out at the group as they try to make their way out of Skynet before it blew.
"I'm sorry I didn't think about this guys!" Josh yells out throwing another EMP grenade.
"Hey, I didn't think it would be that easy in the first place!" Wulf says smashing the head of a T-1000 unit.
"It's clear! Head on!" Josh says as the group takes off down the corridor.
"How much further!?" Sakura asks.
"We've got to go through at least three more corridors before we get to the emergency exit!" Josh answers as they in counter more resistance as a wall of T-2000 units bloc their path. "These guys are made of the same thing that Sigma's arm is made out of! Fortunately they don't have that improvement that Sigma made!" Josh says using his freeze ray and the units that took the hit dead on malfunction and fall to the floor. The freeze and snow cards were now let loose and the units were taken out.

They were out of the main structure and were almost out of Skynet completely.
"How long?" Lee asks.
"Ninety seconds," Josh answers. The group was worn out from all the fighting and running they had done.
"We're not going to make it are we?" Wulf asks.
"Yes we will. I've been working on a way to punch through the dampening field, and I think I got it, but we'll need to get out side." Josh says as they finally get to the exit. He frantically works to contact the lab's main computer. Five seconds before the place went up in a bang the group vanishes in a blue light. In orbit, Skynet I suffers the same fate as well. The satellite explodes and what was not destroyed in the initial explosion burns up in the atmosphere.

Arc Epilogue

"Well, I guess that this is good-bye." Eli says to the group that had assembled to wish the half reincarnation of Clow Reed farewell.
"You'll be missed," Sakura says smiling.
"tell that to my cute little descendent. Now, take care of each other. You're now a family so watch each others backs. I may drop in to check on you from time to time...,and Josh," Eli says now whispering into the genius's ear, "if you hurt Madison I'll kill you." Josh visibly gulps and Eli smirks.

"So, they won. They can have their celebration for now." a figure hidden in shadows says standing in front of a window that overlooks Readington. "The Covenant has seen things my way. Those two demons will be punished and I will have my thousandth virgin."

He was sitting in front of a fire. He listens to the rain hit the roof.
"Master?" Spinner asks.
"You know, fire is an interesting force of nature. It can burn itself out then with one spark it can come back to life." Eli says staring into the flames.
"What...?"
"There are always possibilities, Spinner. My father taught me that lesson long ago. I don't know...,I've got a feeling that he's not completely gone."

Author's Ramblings

Arc one complete! Let me know what you thought of this first arc by either reviewing me or sending me an e-mail at ssj04mewtwo@yahoo.com. I promise no more cameos, or at least I'll try to space them far apart. Here's some tidbits for the next arc.

The Covenant is a group of incubus and succubus demons that have played havoc on the Earth. The head demon himself has come to Earth in order to retrieve the two demons that make up the lovers card. He also is close to taking the virginity of one thousand women. Once he reaches a thousand his powers will be unmatched. He only needs three more and those three will be closer to Sakura than she would like them to be.
As this is going on, the race for mayor of Readington gets into full swing. The challenger wants Ms. Tailors' support even if she has to kidnap her own daughter to get it. The mob ties that the challenger will have will test the heroes in a much different way.
