More Emotional Unrest
Fighter awoke to a large hand shaking her.
“What do you want?” She slowly opened her eyes to see a distraught Maker kneeling next to her bed. “Maker, what is it? Is it the princess?”
“No, no, it’s nothing…I just…” She sank down onto the floor, leaning against the wall and put her head in her hands.
“What’s wrong?” Fighter jumped out of bed and slung her arm around the tall girl who looked at her with tears barely contained from escaping down her face shining in her lavender eyes.
“You didn’t tell me, you didn’t tell us they were talking about Seiya.” Fighter looked at the girl in confusion.
“I…how do you know that? I didn’t think it would matter.” She struggled to keep the tears rising in her own eyes from falling down her face.
“Oh, but it does matter. It does matter, because I felt it too. I felt them talking about me: about Taiki.” Fighter’s eyes grew wide.
“Could you tell who it was? Who was talking about you?” The other girl shook her head sadly. “Wait, why are you so upset?” Maker’s face contorted with anger.
“You’re so blinded by your own selfish moodiness. You think you’re the only one who had to leave people behind, people you cared about, people you…” She couldn’t say it. She wasn’t even sure that’s what it was, and the thought of her unnamed feelings distracted Maker enough to cool her anger. “I just wish you would have said, I wasn’t prepared…she…they were talking about Taiki.”
“She who? Who do you think it was?” Maker lifted her gaze to meet Fighter’s as the tears began running down her cheeks.
“I don’t think, I only hope.”
