Farm Life

1/6/2011

The time on the farm had been advantagious for Shade and Gertrude alike. Both had sworn to build their physical strength and stamina through hard work and training with Meinshao and Broken.

This showed with the muscles that had built under their skin, though they still kept their respective physiques. Shade with her lean tomboyish looks and Gertrude with her all too noticeable femininity.

They had also began to delve into their bond. Somehow, even with her dark element, Gertrude was still very much a psychic and Shade was capable of tapping into her abilities.

They wished to learn more, so they had contacted their old friend Professor Birch.

They hadn't explained the mated aspect of their relationship to Birch, but they were getting help from his friend in Johto after they had contactrd him. Elm was full of theories and, as most pokemon professors, he wanted to be the first to truely unlock the sectrets of the dark psychic capabilities. In return, they secretly provided the same service to Elm that they had once provided to Birch.

Only this time, they were the ones having data collected on them.

Gertrude and Shade looked at eachother with the same thought in mind.

"We need to go!"

In a flash, the two were fsr away in a cave they had found and began to use in training.

- FARM -

"Spread out!" Came the order of a senior officer.

Martin was quick to step outside once he noticed what was happening. "What's going on here?"

"We have heard rumors of two fugitives hiding out here!" The officer stopped to explain. "We have a warrent to search the property!"

"Let me see it." Martin stepped back into the doorway and crossed his arms.

"I don't have time for this!"

"In other words, you don't have it." Martin took a closer look at the officer's uniform. "You're from Hoenn, you have no authority here." Martin turned slightly to call into the house. "Grace, call the authorities. We have some tresspassers."

The officer stood his ground until he saw grace on the phone behijd her husband, describing him to whoever happened to be on the other end of the line.

He grit his teeth and called his men together. "When I return..." Martin squared up to him. "... I'll..."

"Be arrested." Martin stated flatly.

The officer reluctantly turned an left the farm.

An hour later Martin explained the events to local authorities. He swore he didn't know who they were looking for, just that they felt that they could start turning the farm upside down as they wished. He pointed out hours of hard work that had been undone in the half hour they had illegally searched the property.

Officer Jenny and her team took photographs and made sketches before they had left.

That night Gertrude and Shade returned, looking sorry.

"Martin..."

"Shade, we know who the two of you are." Grace placed a hand on her shoulder and took Gertrude's hand. "Of course we were still surprised that you are a gardevoir, hon." Gertrude grinned. "Everything in our bones has told us that you didn't do what they had said. I just don't feel it."

"You trained psychics." Gertrude spoke up and Grace nodded. "You..."

"I only read in a little. Your privacy is your privacy." She had addressed Shade. Her eyes moved to Gertrude. "I thought that you were a psychic trainer as well. You keep your walls up well, Gertrude."

"I have a feeling that this wont be the last time you are inconvinienced. We should really go." Shade mentioned sadly.

"Nonsense!" Martin stepped in. "We will not force you to stay, but you are welcome to stay as long as you wish." He said asbolutely.  "Or come and go freely." He added as he realised that they would be leaving.

"As you are welcome to do at our place... once we find it, that is." Gertrude answered.

They helped clean up the mess and were treated to a last dinner around the table with their friends and family.

As they prepaired ro leave, Broken hugged them. "Post cards." He mentioned. "Take good care of eachother and Sugar."

"What about Sugar?" Shade asked only to be shown a pokeball.

"Martin explained what was going on to her. I'm staying. I've officially been traded. No one can take Sugar from you two. From Gertrude, actually." He handed Sugar's pokeball to Gertrude. "You are like a sister to me. Which makes how I feel about Shade much, much weirder." Gertrude smiled, knowing what he had meant.

As they walked away, Shade turned to Gertrude. "What thebhell did he mean by that?"

"Oh, not much..." Gertrude grinned. "Mom!"

"Oh that is weird!"

7/6/2011

They had been taking on all comers on the main route. Wild pokemon and trainer teams alike.

Celebrating with some saki and doughnuts was a must when they found the small town.

Yelping drew Shade's attention. Being drunk, she took action.

"Hey!"
