how she felt about him. Sure it was late..and sure Gene was a little buzzed oO;. Mel shrugged casually, stuck her tongue out at herself and smiled. Still..she felt like it was now or never. She needed to tell Gene how she felt about him and tonight was the night. Melfina took a nice, long, deep breath and let it out slowly. She turned away from the mirror, pulled on the doorknob and quietly headed for Gene’s room.

Gene was falling asleep when he thought he heard his door being opened. “What the fuck?..” Gene thought sleepily, as he rolled over to see who is. “s. “Melfina?” Gene asked groggily in a confused tone. Mel stepped into his room and shut the door behind her. Mel quickly walked to Gene’s bed and sat down on the edge facing him. Gene sat up. “What’s up Mel?” He asked, staring into her beautiful face. “Why aren’t you asleep?” He started to smile, then realized Mel was on the verge of tears. “Mel, what’s wrong?” Gene asked in a concerned tone, lifting a hand towards her cheek.
Melfina covered her face with her hands and started to sob quietly. Her shoulders gently moved up and down. “Oh Gene…” She managed, between sobs. “It’s a lot of things.” She continued. Gene looked at her, listening intently. “I’m worried about the showdown tomorrow. I know you’ve been in situations like this countless times before. And you somehow always come out on top. But I don’t feel good about tomorrow.” Mel said, removing her hands from her face. She let her tears flow freely. “And I’ve just been thinking…what about the promise you made to me?” Melfina asked. Mel’s words cut through Gene like a caster shell. He felt pangs of guilt all over. “I mean, you told me you’d find out why I was created!! Why I was here!! But you haven’t told me shit!” Mel stared at Gene angrily, accusing him with her eyes. Gene was shocked by Melfina’s language. He had never heard her curse before. Gene spread his arms out wide and enveloped Melfina in a crushing hug. Mel let out a small gasp.
“Mel…I am so sorry.” Gene said, holding her close. “I’ve been so caught up in finding the Galactic Leyline and hunting down the MacDougal brothers.” Gene could feel Mel’s body shaking slightly and he ran his hands soothingly up and down her back. She stopped shaking. “I have neglected my promise to you. But I won’t anymore.” Gene looked down and Mel pulled back slightly so she could see his face. “I’ve been so busy doing other shit…I’ve forgotten about my obligation to you.” Melfina could feel her heart beating faster. “But no more. From now on..I dedicate myself to finding out exactly why you were created.” Gene said with emotion. “But even if I don’t find out-“ Once again, Melfina’s eyes were filled with sadness and pain. “-your life already has meaning.” Gene stared deeply into Melfina’s eyes. Melfina felt her whole body stop. She wasn’t even breathing. She wanted to hear what Gene was going to say next. “Every time I look at you, Melfina…my heart swells with such passion…such deep, fiery passion.” Gene’s voice caught in his throat for a second. “Basically, I’m saying I love you.” Gene stared at Mel with deepnuinnuine and passionate emotion. “Oh Gene…” Melfina began happily. “I love you…so, so much. Being a cyborg..I always knew I had the ability…the capacity for love. But I haver ver experienced it. I never knew how it felt. Until now.” Melfina stared into the eyes of her soon-to-be lover ^_^. Gene smiled happily. A few moments of silent bliss passed between the two of them. “You know, Gene…there’s something else I’ve never experienced before. As a cyborg.” Melfina lowered her voice to a seductive
