Tohru seemed to be lost in space and time. She could hear the soft murmur of Akito’s breathing. She could hear the night outside with the crickets and the soft wind whistles. Her mind didn’t seem to register anything except sound and sight of the ceiling. She must get up though, away from this place, away from HIM.

She untangled her legs carefully from Akito’s, gingerly removed his finger from her secret area and shifted her chest away from his face. Light enough to not make a difference in the bed’s creasing; she rose quickly away from him. She whipped around and looked at him, naked on the bed right where she left him. He almost looked…peaceful. His eyelashes lightly touched his cheeks and his lips slightly parted.

Should she go back to him? He looked cold. She tiptoed over to where he laid sleeping and pulled a cover over him, shifting him slightly on the pillow. He moved his head a bit and Tohru held her breath, waiting to see if he would wake up or not. When he sighed and snored a bit, Tohru relaxed and exhaled.

She tiptoed over the rest of the room and got her scattered clothing together and put them on. Tohru winced. Her body ached so much. She walked bow-legged out of the room and quietly shut the door, not wanting to attract any attention to herself. She went past Hatori’s room, barely breathing, but she once heard him snore a bit, she exhaled, knowing he was asleep. She left through the front door and walked down the dimly lit street.

Tohru arrived home at about 10 o’clock at night and opened the door quietly. She turned to close the door and then took off her shoes, but then she heard a stopping pair of footsteps. She looked up and there was Momiji.

“You’re home, Tohru!” almost shouted Momiji. He smiled brightly and grabbed her hand and led her to the living room. “Look who’s home, everyone!”

Tohru looked in the living room and saw Shigure, Yuki, Kyo, and Haru there. She smiled but was surprised. Why were they here?

She bowed. “Hello!” She turned to Haru and Momiji. “What are you two doing here?”

Haru raised an eyebrow and Momiji looked at her. She thought about what she said and her hair frizzed. “Oops, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make it sound ungrateful! I mean, I’m glad you’re here, I was just wondering what was going on. No, I mean – I – well – umm…”

Momiji smiled. “Its okay, Tohru! We’re just here visiting!”

Haru smirked. “Yeah, at 10.”

Tohru smiled weakly and nodded. “Is anyone hungry?”

Momiji smiled and shook his head. Haru just shook his head once and continued to stare at the television. Yuki smiled at her and said, “No, thank you, Miss Honda.” Kyo shook his head and just watched the television.

Shigure appeared in the doorway and tapped Tohru softly on the back. She turned around slowly and relaxed when she saw it was Shigure. He smiled warmly at her as she smiled, too. He leaned forward and Tohru kind of tensed for a moment and was about to step back when Shigure whispered in her ear, “May I speak to you in private?”

Tohru knew what Shigure wanted to talk about. She looked down and nodded slowly. As Shigure and Tohru were about to leave the room, Shigure’s hand lightly under Tohru’s elbow, three strong and fairly suspicious voices slowly said, “Hold it, Shigure.”

Tohru turned around and looked at the now standing Haru, Kyo, and Yuki, a sort of death look in their eyes and their auras swimming around then, a sudden gust of wind coming between Tohru and Shigure and Haru, Kyo, and Yuki. Shigure turned around quickly and put a hand behind his head and smiled broadly. “Oh, we’re just going to talk for a little bit!”

“Mmhmm,” said Kyo. “We know you, Shigure.”

“You try anything with Miss Honda, Shigure, and you have us to answer to,” said Yuki.

Haru just cracked his knuckles scarily and glared at Shigure. Shigure was just backing away with Tohru following. Shigure just waved a hand up and down and smiled.

“Really, boys, you think I were to harass her or something!” he said. Tohru paused mid-step and her mind froze. All the thoughts and images of Akito assaulted her mind. She bit her lip and left the room and went down the hall to Shigure’s office.

The boys just stared after her and Shigure looked down the hall, slightly confused and worried. Was it something he said? He looked at the other men, shrugged and followed. The boys just stood in the hallway for a second, but slowly sat back down to watch the television, each of them thinking about Tohru.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Tohru stood in front of Shigure’s desk as he made his way over to his chair. He sat down and gestured to Tohru to sit on the chair behind her. She nodded and sat down carefully. She didn’t meet Shigure’s stare and stared, instead, at her sock. She wiggled her pinky toe as Shigure cleared his throat.

“Tohru,” he began, but soon faltered. He sighed deeply, ruffled his hair in the back and leaned forward, toward Tohru.

She looked up and met his gaze. It was a soft and caring one. These were the eyes she normally saw laughing, twinkling, and sparkling with joy. But, now, they held heavy concern and a sort of love. She clenched her jaw and forced a smile on her face.

Shigure sort of relaxed when he saw her smile. It meant that everything was or would be okay, a smile that said ‘I’ll be your ray of light’. Shigure smiled too. He felt okay now that she showed him that she was fine. He leaned back and cleared his throat. Curiosity was eating away at him “T “Tohru, what did Akito wish to talk about?” he asked.

Tohru’s smile faded and fell into a frown. She just looked up at Shigure. “Oh, nothing, he just wanted to see how everyone was doing, myself included. Just some tea, a friendly chat, and then I left and came home.” She smiled on the outside but inside, she was crying. Why couldn’t she tell anyone? Why did she just LIE? But then a thought struck her…What would happen if she DID say something? Would Akito hurt someone? Would he kill them? Would…would he hurt HER? She tried her best to lie to Shigure, but it sounded cheesy. Too cheesy to believe…?

“Oooh, I see, I see,” Shigure said. He nodded enthusiastically and smiled at her. She smiled back. She was hiding something. He could tell. She was a bad liar, but…could she be lying? He could never tell when she smiled. When she smiled, it was innocent, sweet, caring…But this smile…It looked like one to conceal something, a dark secret perhaps? But, if something bad happened to Tohru, she would definitely tell someone. She was the honest type. So, after battling mentally with himself, he believed Tohru. Why would she lie to him?

End for now…..Please review! Sorry it took so long to update, I’ve been really busy! If you would like to help the story develop, email me with ideas! Ok, cya!
