Idle Hands

Idle Hands: Sins Series - Sloth

~*~*~*~

Yohji watched Aya from the corner of his eye. The redhead was sprawled carelessly in a chair, a book in one hand. He turned the pages slowly, languorous fingers lingering on their edges.

The pages in front of Yohji couldn't hold his attention the same way as the nearly silent figure on the other side of the room. The long columns of numbers didn't hold the same appeal as the long legs stretched out in front of Aya.

“You're going to poison yourself if you keep chewing on that pencil,” Aya said quietly, not looking up from his book.

Yohji pulled the pencil from between his teeth with a guilty start. He hadn't noticed the dull taste of the wood on his tongue until Aya spoke. He tapped the end of the pencil against the paper in front of him, staring intently at the numbers but not really seeing them.

His gaze drifted covertly toward Aya, following the sound of the soft sigh that came from that direction. Aya sat with his arms wrapped around a pillow, the book hanging from his hand nearly forgotten and his eyes closed.

Taking advantage of Aya's relaxed state, Yohji turned quietly in his chair, propping his chin on his fist. He studied the way Aya's hair lay against the curve of his cheek, a vulnerable shadow against pale flesh.

Aya's lips were slightly parted, his breathing soft and deep. Yohji's gaze drifted downward, skating over the warm hollow at the base of Aya's throat and across the slender line where his collarbone pressed against his skin.

Hardly aware of what he was doing, Yohji rose and walked slowly toward Aya. He reached out, the tips of his fingers gliding lightly over the fullness of Aya's lower lip.

Violet eyes opened, a whisper of breath skimming over Yohji's fingers in what sounded like a name. Suddenly Aya flinched backward, raising shocked and angry eyes to Yohji's face. Yohji jerked his fingers away, his own expression surprised. Without a word, he turned and left the room, the disturbance of his passing sending the pencil rolling off the table to clatter on the floor.
