Blanket Scenario

Chapter II: Aftermath.

Kenshin was the first one to wake up the next morning. At first, he felt disoriented but as his senses started to clear, he became aware of another presence close to him. Extremely close to him. He looked down to find Kaoru nestled in his arms. Even though the blanket was covering most of their bodies, he knew they weren’t wearing anything.
He could fell every curves of her body molded against his own. Her smooth arms and long legs were wrapped around him. Her soft breathing against his neck. He could feel her heart beat against his c. As. As much as he was enjoying having her in his arms, they needed to get home. The others might be worried since they didn’t get home last night.

He gently entangled himself form her and got up. He almost cried out as the cold air bit against his naked flesh. He got dressed and went back to wake up Kaoru. At first he was a little reluctant. Not knowing how she would react once she realized what they had done the previous night. Not that he regretted making love. Heavens no!

‘I’ll do it again if I have a chance.’ The battousai said in his head.

‘No, you won’t. Not if I can help it.’ The rurouni replied.

While Kenshin was having his own identity crisis, Kaoru had woken up. The first thing she noticed was that she was completely naked and Kenshin was looming over her.
Then everything came rushing back to her. The memories were vivid. It was like making love with Ken aln all over again. She turned as red as Kenshin’s hair.

She sat up and wrapped the blanket around her naked form. She turned her head and her eyes met with his. She quickly turned away out of embarrassment.

‘I’ll leave you to get dress.’
e hee heard him leave before she got up to get dress. She was so deep in thoughts that she didn’t realize how cold the cabin was. “Oh! God, what have I done? How would I
ever face Kenshin again after last night? I know I love him and he said that he loved me…too. He said he loved. But why do I feel so embarrassed.

Once she was dressed, she left the cabin to see Kenshin. He was standing looking at the scenery. it was still snowing but not as bad as last night.

‘The storm had passed. We should be able to find our way back to the dojo.’

She nodded her head.

The journey back home was made in complete silence. Neither knew what to say to the other. They were both feeling guilty and embarrassed. What happen last night between them is definitely changing their relationship. They had no idea how to deal with it.

When they got home, Kaoru quickly made a move to go to her room but was stopped by Kenshin.

‘Kaoru-dono, can we talk?’

‘Ummm…sure, Kenshin.’

They went into the living-room. They both sat down, facing each other. Kaoru didn’t look at Kenshin mainly because she was afraid of what he was going to say.

‘Kaoru, I’m sorry about last night.’

He’s sorry. After such an incredible night and all he could say was that he was sorry. She felt angry but mostly insulted and ashamed. She had given her body freely to him.
She had given him her heart and he had crushed them with just that one sentence.

‘Do you regret what we did last night, Kenshin? Cause I don’t. I slept with you because I love you and thought that you love me, too. I’m ashamed to think that I actually believe we were making love last night but obviously we were only having sex.’

She sprung to her feet and ran to her room. She couldn’t bear to let him see her cry. She knew she normally never say something like that especially to Kenshin but she was so angry and hurt. She laid down on her futon and cried her eyes out.

Kenshin on the other hand was still sitting in the living room. To say he was shocked was an understatt. Ht. He never thought she would be this angry at him just for saying he was sorry.

‘She was not angry. She was hurt.’ The battousai said.

‘And you would know.’ The rurouni replied.

‘I know. I could see it in her eyes. She was fighting back her tears.’

‘Why would she cry? She should be relieved.’

‘And why is that?’

‘She deserves better then me. She deserves someone better.’

Thttouttousai was quiet for a while then he replied.

‘You’re right. She does deserve someone better than you. She deserves someone like me.’

And with that, he took over. His eyes were no longer purple. They were amber. He got up and made his way to Kaoru’s room. He could hear her sniffling inside. He knocked
on the door.

‘Go away.’

‘But Kaoru I want to talk to you.’

‘I have nothing to say to you.’

‘We have a lot to say.’

Ther sur suddenly flew open.

‘What do you want, Kenshin. Haven’t you insulted me enough?’

‘I’m sorry about that. It didn’t come out the way I wanted it.’

‘And how did you want it to come out? I don’t think it could be any clearer.’

‘Come on, Kaoru. Stop being so childish.’

That when she noticed his eyes. They were no longer the timid and confused purple but golden and determined.

‘I’m sorry if I insulted. It wasn’t my intention. If you recalled we did not used any protection last night and you might be pregnant. I wanted to apologize for that.’

Until now, she hadn’t thought about the possibilities of getting pregnant. Her anger vanished leaving her feeling guilty for yelling at him before he had a chance to explain himself.

‘Kenshin, I’m sorry for yelling at you earlier. Can you forgive me?’

‘Of course, koishii.’

He hugged her and she instantly melt against him.

‘Are you hungry?’ he asked.

‘Not really but I could use bath.’

‘I’ll run one for you at one condition.’

‘And what’s that?’

‘You share it with me.’
