Ch. 2
Robin, Lend a Hand

A little over a week had passed since Luffy had made his wish and he had yet to any of the Going Merry crew what it was. Nothing much had happened since then except for the fact that Luffy had started to cleat ont one of the large back rooms that was used for storage

At the current moment Luffy was in the kitchen trying to avoid the barrage Sanji threw at him.

“Dammit, Luffy!! Can’t you wait an hour or two for lunch?! If you hadn’t wolfed down your breakfast you wouldn’t be hungry now!”

“I didn’t wolf it down! I was hungry so I ate!! Do you have a problem with that?!”

Sanji was taken aback. Luffy barely ever snapped at anyone so this was a rare commodity. Sanji calmly regained his composure.

“I do have a problem with that! Because if you always ate when you’re hungry then we’d all starve to death!!”

“Well then I just wont ask for your lousy crap anymore!!”

Sanji stood there frozen. Never, NEVER, had Luffy insulted his food. He always had a smile on his face when eating the meals Sanji had created with his own hands. And now here was his captain, possibly the greatest fan of his cooking, calling his food crap……..something was amiss.

Sanji’s eyebrows shot up as he watched Luffy’s scowl melt into shock.

“G….gomen….Sanji, I didn’t mean it…I didn’t…”

Luffy never finished his sentence. His face paled visibly as his knees buckled, his eyes rolling into the back of his head as he lost consciousness standing up.

Sanji quickly caught Luffy’s prone body before it hit the galley floor. In his frantic state he the only thing he could think of.

“CHOPPER!!”

A few moments later the small elk and the rest of the Going Merry nakama stumbled into the kitchen.

“LUFFY!!”

“What happened?!”

“He fainted!”

“This had never happened before!”

Sanji said nothing as Chopper asked him to lower Luffy to the floor. He stared at the worried look plastered on the green haired swordsman.

Luffy suddenly sat up groaning.

“What happened?”

“You fainted, Luffy,” Chopper explained, proceeding to quickly ordering Sanji to get Luffy a glass of water. Before he could do so Luffy quickly got to his feet. He clutched his hand to his stomach, glaring at his nakama.

“Out of my way.”

No one said anything until the sound of Nami letting out a growl broke the silence.

“Luffy, you are going to lay down and get some rest cause right now you and in no shape to bvingving orders!!”

She instantly wished she hadn’t said that as Luffy’s facial expression changed from a glare to a look of pain.

“I mean get out of my way cause I’m gunna throw up!!!”

The next thing Luffy knew was that his face was planted in a toilet, heaving up the remains of his breakfast. As the bile flooded out of his mouth a hand was placed on his back. It soothingly rubbed his back in a comforting manner as he continued to vomit.

Finally, emptying the last of his stomach, he shakily reached up and pulled the leaver that flushed away his bile. Tears fell as he laid head ead against cold porcelain. Not opening his eyes he felt a cup against his lips. He accepted the content of cold water, washing away the taste of stomach acid from his mouth.

Luffy silently wept as a pair of arms encircled him, pulling him into their chest. He laid his head against his comforter as the spoke soothingly to him and calmed his shaking body.

He soon fell asleep and Robin looked up from the sleeping captain in her arms.

“Zoro. Can you take him to his bed?”

He silently nodded, taking the sleeping brunette from her arms and down to rest.

Robin looked away from the glorious sunrise that greeted her while standing as lookout with the sound of hacking assaulting her ears.

{Luffy must be getting sick again. That poor kid.}

Abandoning her post foromenoment she quietly made her way to the bathroom. Raising her hand she softly knocked on the door.

“Luffy? Are you ok?……………Can I come in?”

She was greeted with silence. Cautiously, Robin wrapped her hand around the metal doorknob. Pushing forward she found the same scenario as she did the past afternoon.

Luffy’s head was laid against the porcelain of the toilet as he sniffled. He slowly turned, trying to prevent himself from getting nauseous again.

“Hey, Robin,” he sniffled.

Reaching into her pocket Robin withdrew a hair binder and pulled her hair back in a loose pony-tail. She turned to the linen closet proceeding to pull out a cream colored wash-clothe. Stepping up to the sink she immersed the clothe in cold water. Wringing out the excess water she kneeled down to her captain and wiped away the dripping sweat from his brow while giving him a comforting smile.
“You poor guy. Throwing up is the worst. Getting sick isn’t fun.”

Luffy let out a strangled chuckle.

“Thanks, Robin.”

She put a hand on his shoulder as she continued to wipe down his face.

“I know you’d be worried about me if I was sick like this, Luffy.”

He stayed quiet for a few moments, still pale and sweaty.

“Hey, Robin?……Can I talk with you for a little bit?…..I need your help.”

She blinked a couple times, taken aback at his request.

“Why me, Luffy? Why not Nami, Chopper, or Zoro?”

She looked slightly concerned when he flinched at her mentioning of the green haired first mate.

“Robin….I trust your input the most…..your smart and clever and calm…”

She warmly smiled.

“Let’s go to the kitchen. We can talk there.”

Robin pulled out a water from the fridge as Luffy settled into a chair at the table. She was confused as he slightly flushed as he looked at it.

“You want something to drink?”

He looked up at her slowly.

“If it’s ok…could I have some tea?”

“It’s fine. I didn’t even know you liked tea.”

“It’s soothes my nerves.”

She nodded as she snatched the tea cozy off the kettle. She snapped the top off and filled it with water, proceeding to put it on the stove, turning it on to high. Robin flipped open the cupboard to grab a box of tea.

“Which kdo ydo you want?”

“Chamomile, please.”

She grabbed the tan colored box and plucked out a tea bag, inhaling the calm scent it gave off. She opened another cupboard to grab a coffee mug and dropped the tea bag in it. Setting the cup on the counter she sat down at the table across from her captain.

“So…..what do need help with?”

Luffy bowed his head deeply. His hat covered his face so she couldn’t tell his expression, but now she was deeply concerned.

“Luffy? Is something wrong?”

“…..Kind of.”

Robin scrunched her brow and propped herself up on her elbows. With a flick of her wrist another arm popped out of nowhere and opened the same cupboard that the cups were in, pulling out a cup for tea for herself.

“I’m afraid, Robin.”

She turned her head to look at Luffy.

“I beg your pardon?”

“Why I’m sick…..I know why….but I’m too scared to tell everyone….”

“It can’t be that bad.”

“It has to do with my wish.”

Her eyes widened in surprise. He hadn’t mentioned to anyone about his wish and now he was getting sick because of his wish?

“Why would your wish cause you to get sick?”

Luffy inhaled deeply and he wrung his hands together.

“Robin…..I need you to promise me that none of this gets out to anyone.”

“Luffy?”

“I’m going to tell you what I wished for, but you cannot tell anyone about it!!”

He stared at her, his eyes pleading for her to keep this promise.

“…..Ok….so….what’s up?”

Luffy slowly took off his hat and placed it on the table.

“You guys……my nakama…..you guys are my family….you guys are the only family I have…”

Robin smiled. Hearing that warmed her heart.

“But.”

“But?”

“You guys aren’t the same as Ace. He’s my brother in blood. I don’t have any other family except for you guys. It makes me sad that I don’t know my parents, or if I even had any other brothers or sisters. I don’t want to hear something like that happen to any child. So…..my wish…….I wanted a family….but I already have you guys.”

He took another slow breath. He looked at Robin with a strained smile on his face.

“You guys make me so happy. You guys are my family. But I want my family to get bigger. I want more people to love.”

“Oh, Luffy,” Robin sighed, “ Don’t tell me you wished for more people to join to crew.”

Luffy let out a loud laugh.

“No, no, Robin! I didn’t wish for that…..why would that get me sick? Anyway….you know about….me and Zoro, right?”

Now it was Robin’s turn to laugh. She threw her head back.

“Luffy!! Everyone knows about that!! I think Sanji is the only one who doesn’t know! Either that or Usopp! But everyone else can see that you guys have something going on!”

Luffy chuckled as Robin went on.

“So you obviously can tell that I don’t like girls in…erm….“that” way.”

Robin rolled her eyes.

“Duh. So what’s your point?”

Luffy lowered his head slowly.

“Well…..here’s the part I want you to keep quiet about…cause it’s the most important. What I wished for involves Zoro. And he’ll probably be pissed as Hell if he found out.”

Robin placed her head in her hands, her elbows supporting her body. A frown was upon her face as she tried to comprehend what Luffy was trying to tell her.

“So….I wished for a bigger family…but not in the way of receiving a bigger crew. And when I talked to the wish-giver I said that I don’t like girls….so….I wished….I wished….”

Robin frowned for a moment. As the tea kettle whistled she slowly raised her head, her eyes widening till they couldn’t go any farther. She snapped her head around letting her other arms take the tea kettle and pour the hot water into the two cups awaiting with the tea bags.

“Hold on…..Luffy are you saying…..it’s not possible…..but…the wish-giver……are you….did you….are you?”

Luffy placed his palms on his abdomen.

“I wished for a child…..Robin, I’m going to have a baby.”
