Chapter2
Legato\'s Curse - Music Box,
I want to feel again, I want to live again but nothing is for free. Soon, I will be free again.. Nearly, one month after Legato\'s escape, Knives takes out his aggression on Midvalley The HornFreak.
\"Find him, damnit!\"
Midvalley kneeled before the plant as he flung objects at the wall. \"I have tired mas--\"
CRASH!
\"Silence! I have not asked you anything worthless spider? When I need your opinion, I will-‘
At that moment a young boy with dusty blonde hair burst into the large room. \"M-master I found him,\" said the child as he bowed as low as he could. Young Zazie The Beast kneeled as Knives approached him.
\"Where did you see him, Beast?\"
A smile came upon the young gun slingers face. Legato was going to pay dearly for betraying the master..\" ****
Only about three iles away, Legato Bluesummers sat at a bar. He sipped his vodka, and for the first time in his life he felt relaxed. Although his master would surely kill him, he did not care any longer -- death would be more like a present than a sorrowful event. But Legato was far more intelligent than most may have thought. He had already devised a plan to find a way back on his master\'s good side and already figured out how he would take Knives Millions down. Legato\'s concentration was broken as a hand was placed on his shoulder.
\"He\'s looking for you.\"
Milk chocolate eyes met shine-less golden ones. Legato knew those eyes; they were the eyes of Chapel\'s ex-lover and long time friend, Midvalley.
\"Do you truly think I have no sense, Hornfreak? I have known that his grace has looked for me since I escaped. Tell me something, though.. What the fuck possessed you to even think of running like some coward?\"
Midvalley tried to manage a harshed tone as he stared down his comrade. \"I didn\'t flee like a coward as you say I did. I simply had enough of it all.\"
\"Oh? That\'s what you call it?\"
\"When we found him he was a wreck, and half the whole mansion was crumbled all over him. Now it doesn\'t take a genius to figure out that you did something.\" Midvalley paused giving Legato a small smile.
\"Tell the Master that I will return shortly.\"
\"You\'re crazy! He\'ll kill you Lega-" --\" Legato placed a finger to Midvalley\'s lips.
\"All those who fall down dead, aren\'t always dead, Midvalley..\" The man with short dark hair gasped as Legato took his finger away from his lips. What ever Legato had planned.. it was damn good. **** Legato got up and left the saloon, saying nothing more to The HornFreak. After all, his plans were his and his alone. Legato had only walked half way down the dusty side walk way when something caught his eye. In one of the shop windows was the most divine things he had ever seen. At that moment a memory came to Bluesummers, a memory he had long forgotten. A golden necklace shattered into what Legato remembered was like a million pieces.
\"You will no longer need this. This is for the weak and I do not tolerate the weak. Always remember your place and your value to me, spider; for if you should ever forget- it will be too bad for you,\" Knives voice rang through out the halls of the Millions residence. A younger form of Legato Bluesummers kneeled before the god-like plant before him. Cold blue eyes stared back at the ever so young Legato, and a sinister smile crept upon his face.
\"What is your place, boy?\"
Legato hesitated, for his answer must be perfect just as was his master. No -- his god. \"My lord, I am but a pet to my master, and a worthless spider. I have no value to you other than when you, Master, see fit.\"
Apparently, pleased with the answer Knives flung the remaining pieces of the necklace at Legato\'s feet and walked off laughing. When Knives was out of sight, Legato scraped up the thin glass-like shreds and slowly pulled from his shirt pocket a small nickel-silver locket. Legato opened the treasure he so cherished, and smiled as he looked at the photo inside. Inside was a picture of two indigo blue haired children sitting next to a reservation camp. On the right was none other than Legato himself, but on the left was..
Legato snapped back to reality. To remember was pain all in itself. Legato had long forgotten the name of the one who sat next to him and their relation to him. He remembered when Knives had caught him smiling once staring at the locket. Knives had actually beat him until he had bled nearly to death. Smiling along with any other common nature emotion was banned from Legato\'s body, mind and soul. He was a tool for his master, and nothing more than a tool.
Legato had always been a calm natured man, but he just couldn\'t take the abuse and torture his master dished to him daily. At one point in his life he would have said he even loved his master, cherished him more than anything, and if Knives had asked him, he would have even died for him. But Legato had new plans now. No longer would he be the puppet. No longer would he play the mindless spider scum. It was time to put his plan into motion, and his first step was far too easy. **** Iwant to feel again , I want to live again, but nothing is for free. Soon, I will be free again. Long blonde curly hair swayed in the mid-day breeze, as Crimson Nail looked out on the filthy city. Taking down his shades from his face, looking like a real woman; tall, slender and all around just breath taking goodness. A body so fair, men and women both stared at him, a reaction he was used too, of course. Walking past the shop window Legato had passed earlier on that same day he spotted the item in which he was to buy, racking through his purse he pulled out a large round stack of double dollars.
\"That must be it, although I can\'t say much for Legato\'s taste in color,\" he said in a silky female voice. Elendira walked into the little shop and in less than a few short seconds he walked out, cradling a rather small box a lined with ever-green velvet, and nickel shine silver thread that was decorated in a devilish fashion. Elendira walked down the narrow walk way to a near by saloon. Inside, he noticed Legato sitting at the far-most table in the bar. A smoke like haze filled the room as Elendira covered his mouth as he walked by three loud men talking about something Elendira couldn\'t care less of. Taking a seat across from Legato, Elendira gave a faint smile.
Sliding the evergreen box across to Legato, \"Sugar, please be careful. Boss man isn\'t the nicest guy.. um, plant, on the block.\" For the first time in Legato\'s life he heard Elendira\'s real voice. \"If you fuck up, or even if my name comes up - no - if I even feel that I\'m being followed..\"
Legato merely gestured for the box, \"Do not worry your self. No one will know of your deeds. I simply asked you for I can trust no one else.\"
The blonde stared in awe, and brushed back his silken locks. \"I thought you were tight with Midvalley?\"
Legato grabbed the box and stood up, \"Midvalley assumes he helps, but if he were threatening enough he would ruin my plans.\" Elendira grabbed Legato by the arm, \"Where\'s my end of the deal?\" Legato tossed a large sum of double dollars on the table before the sexy male.
\"Remember, you never saw me.\"
And he left, his china white trench coat trailed behind him in all his beauty. His indigo blue hair swayed as his body moved with each step. Golden eyes looking out, searching for something that not even Elendira did not see ahead.
