An Eventful Plane Trip Begins
Traveling with young children can be fun, or you can wish that they fit in the overhead compartment. But these sweet little boys would never be a handful, would they?
Chapter Two: An Eventful Plane Trip Begins
Kyo\'s POV
We got through the check in proceedure with little difficulty, considering the man who checked the tickets was a letch. Yuki flirted his way through and saved us about fifteen minutes. And he sent us through with a \"Now you take care of those little ones Honey, my they look just as cute as their mother. \" I almost retched.
And amazingly we got the only male stewardess on the damn plane, too. I was in the row with Yuuhi and Kato and Yuki was sitting with Tsuki in front of us. The steward was trying his hardest to give the poor little boy all the attention he needed, as an excuse to lean over Yuki for such all important things like showing him how to open the window, and where his foot rest is, (like his little feet could reach) and how to work the earphones. Yuki played along and I sat back and wished the idiot would accidently brush up too close to those cute little shorts. He would get the surprise of his life right about there.
I smiled at the thought as Yuki thanked him yet again for helping with the child, and Kato called out \"Okaasan, when are we going to get to \'Kawaii\'?\" The boys didn\'t understand why the whole country was called \"cute\" but they wanted to see it. Yuki turned and told him that he had a long plane flight still and to sit down and behave for Otousan. The steward turned to me for the first time and looked at the two boys in my row. His eyes went wide, as he calculated the fact that all three boys were around the same age and looked about as much alike as three total strangers. I smiled at him, and asked him what time the dinners would be served. He cleared his throat and checked his watch and told me the expected time, and vanished for the next hour. I didn\'t miss him.
After the meal was served, the movie began, and the boys were quiet. It was one of those awful \"Sci Fi Classics/Godzilla meets something.\' Our boys were big fans, and they were all on Godzilla\'s side. We lived in Tokyo and they kept asking when Godzilla was going to come visit and knock down buildings on our street. Oh, well. At least they were quiet for the duration. And when the movie ended, I read them a story and they promptly fell asleep. They were good boys, when the energy finally wore down. Yuki stood up and turned to me. He leaned over the seat and whispered.
\"I am going to go change. I\'ll be right back.\" And he picked up his carry on bag. I couldn\'t resist.
\"Sure, any messages for your boyfriend, if he asks?\" He turned quickly and gave me his \'sexy eyes\' as I had come to call them.
\"I just told you, \'I\'ll be right back\' so don\'t ask stupid questions.\" And he was gone. I laughed to myself. I checked the boys one more time and when I was sure that they were all sleeping, I put my headphones on and listened to some music.
I was just falling asleep, when a hand tapped my shoulder. I looked up to see the male steward looking apprehensively at me. He looked once up the isle and then squatted down next to my seat. This was going to be good. I put my best serious look on as I prepared for his explaination.
\"Sir, I . . . . just wanted to appologize for my earlier actions.\" He indicated the seat before me, I stretched my neck to look at it, then returned my eyes to his face. Open questioning in my look. \"The young lady you are traveling with? She is very attractive.\"
\"Ahhh. I see. You like my Yuki?\" He looked a little surprised, no this would not be enough. \"Are you asking me for something, here?\"
\"Oh, no sir, I just. . . . \"
\"Please don\'t call me sir. It makes my skin crawl. Call me Kyo.\"
\"Eh, yes Sir, I mean, Kyo. What I meant was, that when you boarded, I didn\'t know that you were traveling together, and I may have overstepped my boundaries.\"
\"Did you and Yuki do something?\" He flushed, embarrassed by my seeming missunderstanding \"Oh, there you are, so tell me what did happen here?\" Yuki was just returning. Oh, my he looked great. He had changed into a colorful sundress. How did he keep those things up. I was starting to think they had actually started growing there. The steward looked about to bolt, and I hadn\'t even gotten him back completely yet. Oh no you don\'t, I thought to myself.
\"No, no. Nothing like that, I just meant. . . . .\" Yuki looked at him questioningly, as he tried to explain. \"I was just appologizing for the . . . . . \"
\"Kyo, have you been giving this poor young man a hard time?\" Ah, caught in the act. \"Don\'t mind him, he likes to do that. I told you I would be right back, can\'t you get a simple message straight. \" Yuki slid into his seat, slowly allowing the skirt of the dress to ride dangerously up. Oh, he was playing, too. \"I really wanted to thank you for helping my son earlier, you are certainly good at your job. He was terribly nervous traveling by plane for the first time, they all were. And you made them feel so at ease. I can\'t thank you enough.\" At this he leaned close, and the steward drew a breath at the supposed view, nothing would actually show, it was all an act, and the man blushed brightly. He turned and saw me watching and cleared his throat. \"I am soo tired, could you reach me one of those little pillows, I really wanted to take a nap?\" And he stretched languidly, his long arms reaching high over his head. The steward quickly stood and fumbled at the overhead compartment, pulling out a pillow and hesitating, as Yuki slowly raised his head to allow him to place it there. \"Thank you again, Mmmm, it\'s so soft.\" The softness was all in Yuki\'s voice, as he almost purred at the attendent. Now, it was my turn to clear my throat.
\"Excuse me, if you two are finished, I was wondering if I could get something to drink?\" The steward jumped at the sound of my voice and quickly stammered out.
\"Yes, of course, anything you want, eh, coffee, tea, water, soda or would you like something harder?\" I almost laughed out loud, he looked like he was going to faint. Yuki was much better at this than I was, the steward turned to him, and he shook his head very slowly.
\"Nothing for me, thank you, I just want to sleep before the children wake up. \" And he yawned prettily, behind his hand. The attendant turned back to me.
\"Can I just have some iced tea, do you have Oolong? If not, that american stuff, Lipton would be fine.\" The attendent nodded.
\"Um yes, I actually think we do have oolong. Let me check.\" He moved down the isle. Yuki turned around and gave me a look, I smiled at him.
\"I think that poor young man as you called him, deserves an appology.\" Yuki smiled. \"After all this is a long flight.\" I rose from my seat and headed off the way the man had gone. I found him leaning up against the wall behind the curtain of the kitchen area. I placed my hand on his shoulder lightly to get his attention. He jumped and knocked over the empty cup in front of him.
\"Oh, sir. I mean Kyo. This area is restricted.\" I smiled at him, nodded and picked up the cup for him.
\"Yes I know. I just, um . . . what is your name?\"
\"Rand, Rand McFarley.\" He seemed terribly tense. I leaned against the door frame.
\"Look, you didn\'t do anything wrong, so relax. Yuki just, likes to tease. No one is mad at you. But, a word of advice.\" He looked up at me, and I winked at him. \"When dealing with someone like Yuki, be careful, you just might end up with more than you bargained for.\" As he was pondering this, I heard the voice of my youngest calling,
\"Otousan, are you still here?\" I rolled my eyes.
\"Gotta go, Rand-san. Hey, could you add three juices to that tea? \" And I headed back down the Isle. \"Kato sit down I was just seeing if they had any juice.\"
\"Are we in Kawaii yet, Otousan? I wanna have pie-apples and banamas.\" Kato jumped off the seat into my arms as I arrived within reach. \"Okaasan says they grow them there, and when we get there we can go to the beach. I wanna go swimming.\"
\"Now the problem with that is, if you eat first you have to wait to go swimming, so what do you want to do first?\" And I dropped us both into my seat. Kato sat straddling my lap as he considered this. \"How about we go and see what our room looks like and then, we can all talk about what we want to do first. Yuuhi, there isn\'t room for you up here.\" Yuuhi had woken up and was attempting to squeeze onto my lap as well.
\"I\'m sorry, young man, but we have a rule about how many people can occupy a seat at one time, and that is two. So if you will just return to your own seat, then I would be happy to give you some of this delicious pineapple/orange juice.\" Rand had made his way to our seats with a cart full of various drinks. Yuuhi nearly flew back to his seat, and with a smile that reached from one ear to the other he announced.
\"I want Juice.\" and Rand reached accross to hand him a juice box decorated with palm trees and a hula dancer. He handed him a straw and turned to Kato.
\"I am afraid you will also have to be seated, if you would like one. And your father can\'t have his tea if you are on his lap.\" Kato looked at me and slowly moved to his seat. Before he made his departure complete, however Tsuki called from the seat in front of him.
\"I want a juice, please. I am in my seat, aren\'t I, Okaasan?\"
\"Oh, my yes, you are. Here you go.\" And Rand moved the cart forward to reach a drink box to Tsuki. Kato looked like he had been cheated, and called out.
\"Tsuki, it was my turn. You took my juice. I am in my seat and Otousan is thirsty.\" Rand turned quickly and handed the next box to the fuming redhead next to me.
\"Oh, my. I have enough for everybody. It\'s okay. And here\'s one Iced Oolong Tea, for you, Mr. eh, Kyo.\" I thanked him and the boys sucked noisily on their straws as Rand made his way up the isle to ask if anyone else wanted something.
