And Time Stood Still
Written by Innocence Lost
Disclaimer: If I owned Kenshin, he’d never leave my bed…but sadly, I don’t….
*******
Shae cried out in disappointment as the man’s warmth slipped away from her. Her heart was beating heavily against her chest, every nerve in her body was set on fire.
A phantom that appeared and then vanished, her heart cried out in anguish her body cried out for completion.
But he was gone.
Kenshin groaned as the woman’s form disappeared, leaving him alone once more. His breath was ragged and his heart thumped against his chest, his body very painfully aware of his arousal.
A vision sent to tease and taunt with his mind and body and then vanish. His heart cried out in sorrow, and his body cried out for completion.
But she was gone….
*
Shae couldn’t stop the tears from falling once she had reached the small room she had rented for the night. She buried her face in the pillow and let herself mourn.
Mourn for what, she didn’t know. If felt as if her heart had been torn asunder, her soul crying out for it’s mate.
She wanted to be held by the silken steel arms of her phantom lover, her body reacted to her thoughts. A longing deep within herself, burning deep within her core.
She shouldn’t be crying, she shouldn’t be caring. Her actions were not like her at all…but still, she couldn’t forget the thrall she had had looking in to those amber fires….
Kenshin leaned against the tree, his sakabatou beside him faithfully. He looked up towards the moon, trying to find some peace for his breaking heart.
Why he felt this way he didn’t know. It was if now that he had found her, his soul was painfully aware of a piece that had been missing.
But he wanted to feel her soft lips against his own, the butterfly soft caresses of her fingers…his body reacted violently to his thoughts, all blood rushing immediately to his groin.
He shouldn’t be feeling this way, shouldn’t be thinking of her at all. His actions towards her was completely unlike him…but still he couldn’t forget the green depths that had stared back at him with so much passion.
Shae shifted restlessly on her futon, silently cursing the fact that she had chosen a rather traditional inn to stay at. She was painfully aware of the hard floor beneath her body. But she couldn’t forget violet eyes ringed with gold and crimson hair, the cross-shaped scar or how he had looked at her.
Like she was something precious enough to treasure….
Kenshin shifted restlessly against the tree, silently cursing the rough bark that ate into his back. He was aware of all his surroundings, the cicadas and crickets singing doing nothing to sooth his mind. He couldn’t forget her flame-colored hair or her green eyes and how they looked at him.
Like he wasn’t a murderer, like he was someone worth loving….
Shae sighed as she looked up at the wooden ceiling above her, sleep would not come easy for her this night.
Kenshin sighed as he looked up at the starry sky above him, rest would not come easy for him tonight.

She was walking, she knew, but her destination was unknown. Walking down a foggy path, searching for something…or someone. It was a disorientating feeling, not being able to see where she had been or where she was going.
But somehow, she also knew that it wasn’t real. It was a phantom, a dream much like her redheaded would-be lover.
Shae was of the practical sort, ghosts and fantasies did not exist in real life, but her body thrummed as the visual image of the lavender-eyed man with the cross-shaped scar came to mind. He had felt real underneath her hands and she could still recall the way his hair felt, a silken crimson waterfall. The tautness of his muscles moving and twitching in response to her touch.
He felt like flesh and blood, in more than one way. Her cheeks flared up as she recalled the very…large reminder of his masculinity.
Kenshin found himself in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by dense fog. He had no idea where he was or how he got there in the first place. The last thing that he remembered was falling asleep against a tree. He felt as if he should have been searching for something, someone, anything really….
It was almost like a dream, in fact, it probably was. It wasn’t like his usual dreams that were haunted by the souls and blood of the people he had killed
He was a practical man, believing very much in reality and not in illusions. He had had young idealism once, he supposed sometimes he still did, but those dreams had drowned long ago in chaos and in torrents of blood. By his sword and through the one person he found he could care about…Tomoe.
But she, the woman with a river of flame-colored hair and flashing green eyes, she felt real. Her soft breasts pressed up against his chest, the silky texture of her skin. The way she responded to his touch, the breathy mewls, moans, and gasps…the hot velvet of her womanhood wrapped around his fingers…her taste.
He clenched his teeth as his body responded to the memory of her. She may have been a phantom, or some cruel trick of his mind, but she breathed and responded to him as a woman.
He heard a small gasp from behind him and he whirled around, bending low in a battou-jutsu stance and nearly fell down with what he saw.
Shae certainly wasn’t expecting the vision of her red-haired lover to appear, his back facing her. He seemed to he lost in thought, just standing there not focusing on anything. It startled her so much that she gasped, and she certainly wasn’t expecting the reaction that she got.
She slowly walked over to him, she could feel herself blushing and she refused to meet his gaze.
“Hello.” She whispered softly, “I didn’t expect to see you again.”
Kenshin crooked a finger under her chin and forced her to look up at him. Her face was almost as red as her hair and he allowed himself a small smirk. “I missed you.” He whispered back, his voice husky with desire. “Kirei….”
Shae didn’t think that her face could get any redder than it already was. There was a hunger in his eyes, now more golden than violet. The look he was giving her caused her to shiver in excitement, a slow burn already beginning in her loins.
“What’s your name, samurai?” she asked him softly, her fingers lightly tracing the scar upon his cheek.
“Kenshin.”
The smile she gave him caused his heart to thump a little harder against his chest, “I’m Shae.”
Her other hand wound itself around his neck and softly stroked the powerful muscles there, while his was lightly tracing the outline of her jaw. “Are you a figment of my imagination, Kenshin?” she asked lightly in his ear.
“I don’t know, Koishii.” Kenshin admitted, the low timbre of his voice betraying his emotions. “I don’t know if I care…you’re so beautiful.”
He lightly pushed on the nape of her neck to bring her lips to his own. He felt like a star had exploded inside of him, his body instantly reacted to her close proximity and her velvet tongue teasing his lips. “You’re not so bad looking yourself,” she answered playfully. He mocked growled at her, pulling her closer to his lean body.
He bent down and began to softly kiss her neck, tracing his path with his tongue up to her ear. He allowed himself a small smile when he heard her breathing hitch, followed by a small moan. He gently bit down on her ear lobe, and was awarding with a small gasp.
Shea’s hands wandered into the front of his gi, delicately tracing the lines of muscle and sinew, caressing the faint scars running over his skin. Memorizing every single inch of him. Her palms brushed against his nipples and she was intrigued by the sharp intake of breath and repeated the actions, this time gently pinching the small pebbles.
Kenshin’s response was immediate, gently lowering her to the floor of what ever this place was that they had found each other. His lips took hers in a bruising kiss, demanding submission, pouring out barely restrained passion.
She looked up at him with hooded eyes, darkened in her desire, the color of malachite. Her gaze was met with twin burning amber fires. Her fingers trembled as they struggled to untie the straps of material keeping his gi together while his worked on pulling off her shirt. Her lips found his neck and began to place delicate butterfly kisses down, sucking and licking at the tender flesh.
*Be my one and only….*
She gently pushed herself up, and using the element of surprise flipped him over, straddling his waist, his arousal pushing into the soft skin of her belly. Her lips continued to explore the planes of his chest, stopping to suck lightly on his nipples before continuing their journey downward. She paused and dipped her tongue into his navel, with was returned with a groan and a sudden thrust from her lover.
Shae reached the waistband of his hakama and tugged at the knot that keep them up, pulling them down as she continued to kiss his body. Kenshin could feel her smirk into her thighs as he moaned from her ministrations.
Slowly she made her way back up to his engorged member, letting her tongue drag up from the base to the tip. He shuddered in response. She let her tongue dance along the tip, teasing the slit and blowing against him gently. She drew him into her mouth, letting her moist warmth encase him and began to move up and down.
Kenshin clenched his teeth to stop the cry from coming out of his mouth, and of their own volition his hips began to thrust up into her warm cavern. Her hand reached around his tightly stretched balls and began to caress them lightly as she played with him. His cock began to shudder and she knew he was about to cum.
She released him before he had the chance, moving up to kiss him deeply, ignoring the feral growls that were coming deep within his throat.
