Chapter 2
Thoughts//
Remembering dream//// in Italics

The room filled with silence. Had they heard right? Seur-Chong wanted Myung-Ho to take the job?

“Seur-Chong are you sure?” Myung-Ho questioned.

Seur-Chong smiled, “Look, this is something that you really want and haven’t I always told you if you want something, then go for it? Well haven’t I?”

Everyone knew that Seur-Chong was right.

“It’s settled then. I will go tell Aranseur the good news.” Myung-Ho ran off to tell his sister.

Nothing but quiet followed, roaming free in the room. Mong-Yeng turned to Seur-Chong only to find him gone. “Seur-Chong…”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

His sister had been overly thrilled with the news but something still didn’t sit right with the shaman. Why had Seur-Chong told him to take the position? It still didn’t add up. Stopping his packing, Myung-Ho decided to go find his friend and get some answers.

It wasn’t long before Myung-Ho found Seur-Chong in the eating area, his food untouched.

Seur-Chong, the master of detection didn’t notice his friend standing there until Myung-Ho spoke up. “Seur-Chong. May I sit down?”

Startled he nodded his head giving his partner permission to join him. /Something is defiantly wrong here. / Thought Myung-Ho.

Myung-Ho’s hand moved and covered Seur-Chong’s. An action that in the past had gotten the dragon hunter to relax and open up a bit. This time istend, he ripped his hand from underneath his friend’s.

“Seur-Chong, please tell me what’s wrong? You’ve been acting strangely since last night. Please tell me what’s wrong. If you really don’t want me to leave then I will go tell Aranseur that I have changed my mind. But please talk to me.”

Seur-Chong refused to look up from the sound of his friend’s voice he could tell that he was near tears.

/If I look up, I’ll end up asking him to stay. /

//See what you’ve done to him//

/I can’t let him stay. /

//As long as he’s with you he will all ways be in danger. //

/I’ve got to get him to leave. /

“Seur-Chong, are you alright?” Myung-Ho put his hand on Seur-Chong’s shoulder.

/I’m sorry…/

Seur-Chong violently smacked the kind hand away. Gripping his injured hand he gazed at his friend in total shock. “Seur-Chong! What was-“

“Just shut up already!” The stronger stud up anger apparent on his face. “Don’t you get it? I want you to leave! I want you gone. Out of here. Do you understand?”

/Don’t break the façade. / Seur-Chong told himself.

Tears slowly trickled down Myung-Ho’s face, emotions raked his voice. “As you wish then.”

Quickly he ran back to his room shutting the door and flopping down on his bed. Tears now roamed freely about his face turning his pale skin a heated color.

In his life there had only been two other times when he had felt so alone. When his parents died and when he had been informed that he and Aranseur would be separated.

But this was different. This was his friend. The one who gave him a shoulder to cry on when life was hard. The person who taught him how to fight. But the angry words still rang in his ears.

/Maybe I’ve been too much of a bother. /

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wanting privacy, Seur-Chong leaped down from the mobile unit and ran into the forest.

When he was sure that he was far enough away, the mighty dragon hunter fell to hi knees sobbing.

/I’m sorry. I’m so sorry Myung-Ho! / Crawling over to the tree, the warrior rested his back against it, tears still flowing like a waterfall. /I’m sorry. But I had to do it. I had to get you away from me. I’d rather live with your scorn and hated than your death. I love you too much to let anything happen to you. /

With this internal declaration of love completed, he slowly began to loss conscience in the mid-day warmth.

What do you think so far?
