Chapter1

KPOV

I sat on the edge of a mountain watching as the sun rose above the horizon. Today was the day I am going to make Blue notice me. No matter what. I have to make her notice me, now. I can’t wait too long. If I do, she may never know I exist and I don’t want that to happen. And if I do take her away, for some reason. I won’t care if I break Hige’s heart. If he even has one for that matter. He doesn’t deserve her like I do. I will treat her as royalty and let her do as she pleases. Anything to make her happy. I will show her everything that she’s never seen before. One thing that Hige can never give her except me.

Me.

And only me.

“Kiba?”

I snapped out of my thoughts, almost slipping forward off of the cliff. I caught myself and slowly shot a glare toward the youngest wolf of our pack. I hated to be bothered when wanting to be alone and think to myself. I don’t usually get enough of that any more with all of the other packs we live around in this forest. And I’ve come to notice that there’s not much woman out of them either. Not that I’m interested in them since I only have sights for Blue. But I do know that Blue is the youngest out of all the entire woman in this forest and the most stunning. And since there’s not many women, the men will obviously try to catch one of them as quickly as they can when mating season comes around. Even if they have a mate. But that won’t be happening to Blue. Not while I’m around.

“Kiba?”

“What, Toboe? What do you want?”

I had slightly sneered at him, though I didn’t mean to, it just came out that way. I didn’t want to be bothered.

“Um, sorry to bother you but Hige wants to know if your coming with us to town. We’re going to get some food and I think other stuff too.”

He smiled at me, obviously ignoring how rude I was, I couldn’t help but smile back. Toboe has a way of doing that to the strongest of men. Hell, he even has Tsume acting like a spoiled dog. He seems more ‘happy’ at the most, very hard to believe, but it is true. He’s even a bit more polite instead of sneering at everyone. Except Hige, he really hates him and snarls at him every chance he gets. It’s really because of what he does to the only female of our pack.

“Kiba? Are you going?”

“Yes Toboe. I’m going.”

“OKAY! LET’S GO!” Toboe had jumped in the air, smiling like an idiot before running off. I sighed and followed walking. I didn’t feel like going to the city. Nothing but a bunch of ignorant humans who think about nothing but themselves. It’s sickening. Especially the damn factories that’s destroying the air. That stuff they put in those things called cars is enough, us animals don’t need that anymore. We’re sick of it, and yet we let humans do anything anyway. Really so they can just leave us alone.

Once we made it to our place of being, meaning our home, which is not too far from the lake and surrounded by trees, away from the other packs. I saw that Hige and Tsume were waiting for us. Tsume looked pissed about something and Hige had his usual smile. I looked around for Blue and saw that she had her head down balled up against a tree. Something was wrong and I know it. I could feel it. What’s wrong?

“Bout time you two got here, I was beginning to think that you were lost.” Hige smiled brightly making Tsume grunt in disgust, what the hell is wrong?

“Hey, Hige? What’s wrong with Blue?” That’s exactly what I want to know. I watched as Hige went stiff and look over at Blue.

“Nothing, just a disagreement. Let’s go.” Hige walked off after stating that very dryly. Tsume followed with his frown deepening. Leaving me and Toboe in confusion for a minute. That is until Toboe ran to follow. I kept my ground.

“So, Blue’s not going? She’s staying by herself?”

I had to ask. I wasn’t going to leave her here by herself. That doesn’t seem right. Hell, it isn’t.

“Yeah, point?”

“Then I’m staying too. I’m not leaving her here by herself.” I growled at Hige for that sneer he gave me. I had my eye on him as he turned to look at me with a glare. We looked each other in the eye. Like all animals do if anything is a challenge. From the corner of my eye, I saw that Tsume and Toboe had stopped to watch. I couldn’t exactly see their expressions since I was staring into the eyes of a bastard. His eyes were glowing a glint of anger but he turned away.

“Fine, do what you want.”

“Will do.” I commented with a smirk when he turned away. I heard him growl and Tsume chuckled. All of them walking away.

“Hey Kiba, I’ll bring you and Blue back some food and stuff! Okay!” I nodded at the boy and he beamed running to catch up with the others. Once they were gone, I looked over at Blue. Who still had her head down and balled up against a tree. And saw that she had gone to sleep. She looked beautiful in her new dress that Hige had bought her for making her cry one time. It was red and silky, it showed off her legs and arms. Her new shoes were, what do humans call them? Seekers? Or was it sneakers? I’m not sure but that’s what she wore. Her hair had grown down her back to her waist, looking quite sleek and straight. Something that satisfied Hige. He didn’t change shit of himself to satisfy her but she did for him. She even had a red bow on her hair to keep it tied back and down.

I’m sick of this shit. All she does for him and nothing for her? It’s like she’s some slave that’s there to serve her master.

Bullshit.

It’s all bullshit.

She is free to do what she wants. Why does he hurt her and make her feel like she can’t. It’s wrong. I have to do something. Think of something. I can’t watch this anymore, what should I do?

“Hige?”

I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at Blue. She had groaned shifting her body to a more comfortable position. Her eyes squinted tighter like she was having a nightmare. But she called Hige’s name. What is she dreaming about?

“Hige?”

She did it again. Only this time her breathing increased and she was whimpering. It must be a nightmare. She looked frightened. I then bended down near her, changing to my wolf form. She began to move more, breathing harder, whimpering louder.

“Hige, please. NO!”

She would have woken up if I didn’t lick her cheek tenderly. I do this sometimes to calm one down. Actually I only did this to Toboe since he has nightmares sometimes. And it seemed to work when she calmed down. Now she had a smile on her face. Something that I love to see out of her. A smile. It lights up her face and her eyes shine. I rarely see that anymore thanks to Hige. Damn, is everything because of him?

“Hige? Is that you?”

Shit, she’s waking up! What should I do! Wait, why am I panicking? I want her to see me. I want her to look at me. I want to stare into her azure-blue orbs. God, I want to touch her! But what if she doesn’t even know who the hell I am? She never once glanced at me. So what if she doesn’t know who I am? Her not knowing who I am will tear me apart. I’ll be nothing but miserable if she doesn’t know who I am. My heart will shatter.

Break. Die. She must know me! Please let her know me!

I watched as her eyes slowly opened. Blinking a few times to see. Her eyes met mine. And god how they were beautiful. Innocent. And so alluring. I couldn’t stop staring. Just like I wanted. To not stop staring. I love them. It’s like their piercing through my very soul. I could feel myself go stiff. I couldn’t move. I don’t want to. I know I’ll have to sometime. But, WHY?

“K-Kiba? What are you doing?”

She said my name. She said my name. She actually said my name while looking me right in the eye. And it slid off of her cherry lips so gracefully. I want to touch them now. I want to kiss them. Press my lips against hers. And for a long time. Until we cant breathe anymore. But yet again, I can’t. When she had asked me what I was doing. I couldn’t answer. I just couldn’t. My lips won’t move. Well my jaw anyway, I’m still in my wolf form. All I got out was a breath. And that didn’t answer her question. I saw as she frowned. Still looking me in the eye.

“Well then if you’re not going to answer my question, I would like it if you moved so I could sit up.”

I could feel something warm run up to my nose. I didn’t know what that meant but I did as she asked. And when she did sit up, I turned to my human form as her scent felt like it had brushed against my nose. Damn, she smells even better up close. I watched as she yawned and looked around quickly. Panic beginning to take over her.

“Hige? Hige? Hige! HIGE! Hige where are you, HIGE!”

She jumped up looking around for Hige. A frightened and worried look all over her face. Now that really saddened me and pained me. I want her forget about Hige for a moment and think about me. At least my presence. She doesn’t have to act like she doesn’t know I’m here. She was just talking to me. How could she not know I’m here?

“Hige! Hige!”

“He and the others went to the city. Remember? That was only about a half an hour ago.”

She stopped and looked at me. The look on her face tore my very soul in half. Her eyes were watering up and her nose was slightly red. A sad frown was now on her beautiful features. I want her to smile again. I loved it. She glowed when she smiled and looked happy doing it too. How do I get it back?

“Oh, I forgot that they left. He said I shouldn’t go. It’s better that way.”

She had went back to lye against the tree. A tear had slid down her cheek and I could feel a pang pull at my heart, making it ache. She balled up again, resting her head against her knees. Wait, maybe what I can do for her to notice me, is to make her happy. Yes, I’ll just make her happy. Make her smile and light up her features. Beauty shouldn’t be locked away in sadness. It should be out glowing. Lighting everyone and everything up. Making them themselves feel and know that they’re beautiful too. Just like what Cheza did to Blue when she didn’t think she was beautiful. Cheza had told her that it doesn’t matter what someone else thinks or says, they are just jealous that they don’t see they’re beauty but they see yours. So they hate you for it and will call you ugly. Do not listen to them. You know yourself that your beautiful, and so does everyone else. You should cherish your beauty, not lock it away.

Believe me, when she said that to Blue, Blue had actually lite up. And I was happy for her. That was the first time that I realized how much I actually care about her. Realizing that I love her. She’s the most gorgeous thing I’ve seen in never. Believe me, other things are beautiful but nothing will match hers.

Nothing.

But I guess Hige took that. She doubts herself. I don’t want that. I don’t want her to doubt herself. I don’t want her to begin to think that she’s not beautiful anymore and then run off somewhere to kill herself. But I doubt that would happen since she made an oath to stay with Hige. But I’m going to make that change. She is going to know how I feel before it gets to the point where she doesn’t want anyone around her. No, I’m not letting anything happen that I don’t want to happen.

I then moved closer to her, reaching to lift her head up. She flinched some but I gently cupped her chin to keep her still. She looked at me in confusion. Only I reached to whip her tears away. Her eyes were slightly red and puffy, her cheeks warm, and her nose red. She looked beautiful even saddened. But I don’t want her to cry.

No, not that.

“I don’t want you to cry anymore.”

That was the last thing I said before pressed my lips against hers.

I kissed her.
