Chapie two
Disclaimer: I don’t own them! Waaaaaaaa! sob boo who. OH! But I do own Onigomo, I made him up!!!
Sakura and Madison where walking to their rooms. Sakura thought Madison was talking to her, but she didn’t really pay attention. He mind was full of hateful thoughts towards Mehlin, Onigomo, Jagged, and just about everyone at Moon Dig besides Madison.
Madison paused in her monologue and studied Sakura. Something was wrong, she knew it.
“Sakura, sweetie…” she prided gently. Sakura left her tizzy of hateful thoughts and turned her attention to her worried comrade.
“hmm?”
Madison sighed, getting right to the point, “What’s wrong?”
Sakura groaned, “How do you do that?”
Madison smirked, “It’s one of those creepy things that happens with best friends.”
Sakura smiled weakly. She opened the door to the room Madison and Mehlin shared. It smelled of pine needles and freshly cut lemon grass. Sakura sniffed and let out a contented sigh.
“How do you manage to make this room smell like heaven should?”
“Another creepy talent of mine. Come and sit.” Both girls sat on the plush cusions and waited while a servent brought them drinks.
“Okay girl, I’m dying to know, so spill.”
“It’s nothing! I’m just worried about Mehlin.”
Madison cocked an eyebrow.
“Ya, cuz that boy had DANGER written all over him.” Sakura rolled her eyes at the sarcasm that dripped from Madison’s words.
“Don’t worry, she’ll be fine.” Madison squeezed Sakura’s hand reassuringly and Sakura plastered a fake smile on. She knew Mehlin would be fine. Madison went back to sipping her tea, and Sakura slipped back to her hateful thoughts.
Mehlin studied the boy as she led him to the back room. It was reserved for her and her bidder. He was a majour leage hottie, Mehlin had to admit. But it was pretty pathetic that he had to get his kicks at a dingy night club like Moon Dig. She noticed the serious look on his face and wondered what his type was. She finally decided on vixen.
“Sooo…” she purred suggestively. She opened the door and beckoned him in, “how do you want it?”
He through her a look of disgust, “I don’t.”
Mehlin blinked.
“I just need to ask you some questions.”
“o” Mehlin sat down, abondaning her seductive role and returning to normal Mehlin behavouir. Meaning she scowled and looked pissed off.
“Too bad. You’re deffenitly not sore on the eyes.”
The boy just scowled.
“ Name’s Li.”
“Mehlin”
An hour later, Mehlin headed back to her room. She opened the door to find Madison lighting incense.
“I don’t know why you use that shit. It’s bad for your lungs.”
“But it’s good for your soul.” Madison smiled, ever the patient one.
“Out of the two, I’d choose my lungs. Our souls are already beyond help.”
Madison smiled again, “ oh I don’t know. True this isn’t the life of saints, but we’re not bad people.”
“Hmmph!” Mehlin grunted, “ speak for yourself.”
“How did tonight go?” Madison asked gently, letting her know she didn’t have to talk if she’d rather not.
Mehlin sat for a while thinking.
“I don’t get it. The guy didn’t want anything. He just asked me some questions.”
Madison frowned in thought, “ what do you mean?”
Mehlin raised an eyebrow, her signature move,
“Just that. He paid 100 $ to talk.”
“ Strange.”
“ya.”
Eli Moon waited out side the club. He was propped up against the brick wall, deep in thought.
“Hey!” Eli whispered soflty, gaining the attention of the boy that was leaving the building. Li turned and greeted his friend, his face as solom as it would have been, had he been greeting a stranger. But Eli Moon was no stranger. He was the brother Li had never had.
“What did you learn?” Eli enquired
“Not much. I bought a night with on of the dancer’s, but she didn’t know anything.”
Li looked up at Eli who was trying hard not to laugh.
“What?” Li asked, a scowl on his face.
“N…noth..” Eli snortred, holding back laughter, “ I just can’t see you bidding on a dancer.” Eli chuckled and took a deep breath, his face red from suppressed laughter. Li shrugged.
“Whatever. Wait, I left my jacket inside.”
Sakura sat in a corner of the room, lounging against a plush cusion. All the costumers had left by now, it was nearly sunrise, and the workers of Moon Dig were hard at work, cleaning the small back room Sakura was in. Sakura lay there, not really thinking of anything particularly. She only noticed how long she had been there when her leg fell asleep.
“Ow.” She muttered as she tried to stand up. Pins and needles shot up her now asleep leg. There was a single person at work in the room. It was one of the young girls Jagged had taken in. She worked in the club in return for food and shelter. She was only seven. Sakura walked up to her and took the broom out of her hands.
“Here, I’ll finish sweeping. You should get some sleep.” Sakura spoke softly, and smiled gently at the girl. The little child smiled shyly and skipped away up the stairs. Sakura’s smile faded and she set into a rhythm with the broom. She was concentrating so hard on the chore that she jumped nearly a foot from surprise, when a voice came from behind her.
“You shouldn’t have to sweep. Let the servants do that.” Sakura whirled around. It was Jagged. He walked up to her and gently grabbed her elbows. Sakura looked up at him, frozen. Jagged smiled. It was a suggestive look, unfriendly and cold.
“I have to go!” Sakura spoke quickly and quietly, turning to go. Jagged laughed deep in his throat.
“You don’t need to go anywere.” He leaned in towards her. Sakura was breathing hard, close to panic.
And just then, the door opened.
“Sorry.”, Li had come in to retrive his jacket, and apologized when he saw Sakura and Jagged. Jagged looked up, and Sakura took the chance to move away from him. She rubbed her arms, suddenly feeling dirty. The boy walked past her, and apologized again. Sakura wondered at how he managed to say the words without really sounding sorry at all. He whatched her, and at the last minit mad eye contact. Sakura drew in a sharp breath.
Li left, and Jagged turned back to Sakura. She stared hard at him, and ran away, up the stairs and towards her room. She had an idea for a song…
Sooooooo, how do you like this chapie? Review and I will love you forever! Oh, and once again, if anyone knows what a beta reader is, please tell me!!!!!
Okay, if you didn’t get the part where Sakura has an idea for a song: in this story Sakura writes all the songs she sings, and Madison and Mehlin are her band. So after the little run-in with Jagged she got an idea for a new song.
