Comfort from fear Itself
Seras awoke as the last of the sunlight left the sky. Alucard was nowhere to be seen and she sighed in relief. Perhaps his words last night were blood madness. She sighed as she changed into a clean uniform and made her way into the upper levels of the Mansion. Seeing Walter standing at the foot of the stairs she smiled.
“Good evening Lady Victoria. I trust you rested well.”
“Yes thank you Walter.”
It had been six months since Hellsing had nearly gone down and order was being restored. Seras had become a confident woman and hardly ever stuttered when spoken too. Her hair she had allowed to grow and it now sat about her shoulders but a fringe still framed her forehead. Her eyes still held their red color but they had begun to change, the pupils slowly morphing into the cat eyes of her Master. She had no mission tonight so she made her way to the library. Helena had spent a long time as a nightwalker, but had not read all the books in her possession when she had died. Seras had read in memory of her. If she was to live-forever let it not be with being ignorant. Within the library she breathed deep enjoying the smell of the books. Within was a two story room books covered every wall. There were three pieces of furniture gracing the room. A large, imposing desk with an equally imposing chair looming up from behind it, the other was a chaise laid by the windows. She found she was more comfortable lying on the softly carpeted floor and finding the book she was currently reading she lay on her stomach and began to read. After a few hours she felt the air around her shift and she lifted her eyes to see her Master sitting on the desk staring down at her, his expression unreadable.
“Master?”
His lips lifted on one side.
“What are you doing Fukee?”
She lifted the book from the carpet in front of her.
“I am reading. Helena made me realize living forever was not just about living. You do things with the time given you.”
Alucard stood his dark figure imposing in front of her. When with her he no longer wore the large brimmed hat or his glasses. In fact, this night even his great overcoat was gone and he stood before her dressed in dark pants that turned blood red when the fitful light of the moon drifted onto them, a white shirt and his red cravat. She turned her eyes away in shame when she realized how her eyes were traveling over him. That hunger she had felt was directed at him. Her chin was suddenly caught in his hand and she was forced to look up seeing him kneeling in front of him.
“Do not be ashamed Seras. You are a woman. Helena was not. Your body merely reaches out for a male of your own kind. Did you not feel it with this Paul?”
Seras crushed her eyes closed at the memory of Paul. Her body had felt him. In her dream seeing him feeding and fucking the woman had made her burn even when she yelled asking why he was doing this. Meeting him had been worse until she summoned up all her rage at the deaths of her friends and killed him. Maybe her Master was right. She was merely craving the only male of her kind that she was around. Perhaps she should find another and…
“No Seras. You will not find another.”
Her eyes came open and met his, which showed nothing. He went on.
“You would not find one with enough good in his heart for you. Do not search needlessly.”
She felt the tears burn down her cheeks. She was to be immortal and alone. The rest of her life. Which was forever.
Alucard heard every thought she had he pushed it aside and spoke again.
“You did not feed this night Fukee.”
He felt a shiver run down her body.
“No Master. Please don’t.”
He ignored her little plea and rolled her onto her back. This time he pinned her slowly. Lowering his body over hers, feeling her buck up against him. Soon she would allow him to do this. Give up the fight.
“You will feed, Seras.”
He said, lowering his mouth to hers and licking the tightly closed seam of her lips. Finally his came down and he forced her mouth open, feeding her blood from himself. The sensations rippled through his body as he felt her body pulse under his from the strength the blood gave her. Strength and power he wanted for give her, why would she not take it for herself? She moaned into his mouth and he caught the edge of pain to the sound and loosened his grip on her wrists enough so he was no longer hurting her but he could still hold her. Finally he lifted his head but did not release her. He lowered his head again and joined their lips thrusting his tongue into her gasping mouth tasting her and the last of the blood that touched her tongue. Finally he drew away.
“Never forget you are mine Seras.”
He finally released her and stood. She scrambled to get away again when it was too late ending up pressed against the desk and began to cry. He had no wish to hurt her. The exact opposite but she continued to deny him what he wished her to do. His face shifted into concern and he sat himself beside her and shifted her into his lap. She was stiff and unyielding but he held her all the same.
“I do not do this to hurt you Seras Victoria. I do this to make you stronger. You have been starving yourself too long and I can watch it no longer. If you let me do this it will not be so terrible. But instead you fight my gift to you. Fight me no longer Seras. I do not wish to put this pain into you.”
She softened slightly against his chest and he stroked her hair. Carefully he drew his knees up so she was cradled within his arms and his entire body. The door opened and he looked up sharply. He kept Seras face and body pressed against him through sheer force of will. Seeing Integral his eyes were alert.
“Do you wish something from me. My Master?”
Her face showed no emotion but he knew she was surprised. Finding Alucard here on the floor of her library wrapped carefully around a crying Seras was not something she expected to see.
“No Alucard. Things have been quite. I merely search for a book.”
She went past him but his eyes stayed on her the entire time.
What are you doing Alucard?
I fed her, she resisted.
So now she accepts comfort from you. Strange.
It is only right. It is as it should be.
She said no more but found her book and left.
Seras tried once more to move away but he bent his head and murmured to her.
“Stay as you are Seras. For a few more moments.”
She stilled and he could smell her tears were drying.
“Will you willingly take blood from me now?”
She nodded her face rubbing against the soft fabric of his shirt.
“Remember your agreement. I will hold you to it.”
“Yes Master.”
Her voice was soft but he heard it nonetheless.
“If you fed for yourself you would not have to endure this. You would no longer call me Master.”
She shook her head and without releasing her he stood.
“Very well Seras. But when you are not in my arms I will continue to call you Fukee. That is how it shall be.”
He didn’t faze them to her room this time but walked. Walter saw them and walked over.
“I have just been informed Lady Victoria is needed on a mission. I assume she is well.”
Seras pushed against his chest but Alucard did not release her.
“Seras is fine. I will see her to her division.”
Walter said nothing as the two undead disappeared.
When they appeared in a dark corner where her division were suited up she once more tired to get him to release her but he refused.
“Remember Seras.”
Then he let her go and faded into nothing. Seras didn’t want to think. Instead she joined her group and got ready.
