The next day, Cisqua and the other travelers arrived at the plateau. It was filled with short, rolling hills, streams, and hot springs as far as the eye could see. Cisqua and the gang had little trouble crossing it. However, it was vast, so it did take some time to cross it.

While crossing the plateau, one evening they had made camp by one of the streams. This stream had a lot of algae growing on its bed. Rowen spotted some fruit growing in a tree across the river. Cisqua insisted Coud get it, and Ren went with him just in case. Ren and Coud were crossing this stream together when Ren slipped on the algae and tumbled right into Coud.
