The Strength Of a Dunpeal( Against four Drunks)
Sun rose in the hills. Water ran through the canon. Skinned warmed by the sun. I brushed up against him. Wild flowers on fire. And then I asked him with my eyes to ask again, yes. And then he asked me would I? Yes, I said yes. I mean yes! I put my arms aorund him yes. And draw him down to me so he could feel my breast and his heart was going like mad. Yes. Oh yes. The moon rose in the sky as we lay together. One second goes by. Then becomes forever. Come to you by desire. And then I asked him with my eyes to ask again yes. And then he asked me would I ? Yes. I said yes. I mean yes. I put my arms around him yes. And draw him down to me so he could feel my breast and his heart was going like mad.- Amber “ Yes.”
Chapter two: The Strength of A Dunpeal( against four drunks.)
" Call me crazy D, but...." His left hand trailed off.
" Do me a favor this morning and shut up." D requested polietly as he, dressed in his cloak, his tight black armor and leather, his hat, blue pendant, and of course his sword resting on his back. Made his way up the stairs towards the dinning part of the tavern.
" Why?!" The hand asked appalled." Afraid I might embarass you infront of your pretty gal?" The hand laughed.
" No, I need you out of the way because you'll say something obnoxious. Now away." He ordered. With that his hand turned normal.
D's brown eyes scanned the place. There were already men there. Drinking, eating and trying to flirt with the barmaids. But when he arrived, all stopped and stared. D was used to this. He merely ignorred it and walked over to the bar counter. There was an old man there, cleaning glasses. He regarded D oddly. But offered his help the same." Help you?"
" I am looking for a young innkeeper. A woman by the name of Sabriel." He started.
"She is not the innkeeper. Sabriel is my granddaughter. No she is not here yet." He explained. Then eyed D's sword. He glared " What do you want with her? She has not done anyone any harm!" He hissed."
D still remained in his calm stage. Again hostility was something he was used to. He simply answered." I am not here to hunt her down." He paused so the old man could have a chance to calm. Then he continued." I seek Sabriel because she offered me breakfast" He explained.
" Grandfather stop it!" Came a firm woman's voice from the entrance of the tavern. D turned around. Sabriel was standing there. Dressed different this time. In a black dress and white apron, much like those of the puritans time. Her hair was pulled back in a braid. Her ears were covered by a crimson bandana, that hung slightly off her forehead.
She approached the counter. All men stared at her. Whispering softly amongst eachother." Grandfather this is D. He is a new friend. I invited him for breakfast. So be nice." She said then, looked at D. And smiled." Sorry I'm late." She whispered.
"Thats no problem. Better late then never." He said softly back to her. She smiled at him still. She looked back at her grandfather," I'm going back to the kitchen to cook him something for breakfast. Please make sure he is shown the same service you'd show anyone else." She requested.
D looked from Sabriel to the man who was her grandfather. Who sighed and shook his head." Very well. Barbara." He called to his other grandaughter. The one not half vampire.
" Yes grandfather?" The darker haired woman asked walking over.
" Please seat this man. He is a friend to your sister. Get him something to drink." He requested.
" Yes, grandfather." She said with a smile and lead him to a table not far from a table of drunks.
" I'll be back to get you some..." She paused. And for the first time got a good look at him." Why is your skin like Sabriel's? " She asked.
" Why do you think?" D asked curtly." I am what she is. If you have a problem with it then you can go away." D said. Feeling insulted by her ignorance. It was hard to believe this girl was related to Sabriel.
" I'll just have Sabriel get your drink." She said curty and walked off.
" Now that was rude!" Snapped the forming face in his left hand.
" I thought I asked you to stay away for a while." He mused. Looking up from under his hat.
" Well, I have to step in when you are not being very nice to yet again another nice looking girl."
" The girl is ignorant. Now go away." He said calmly. When he glanced back up, Sabriel was stand there with his drink. The face in his palm just went away.
" What did you say to Barbara?" Sabriel asked softly. Setting down his ale.
" She merely insulted me. So I was rude back." He explained.
Sabriel nodded." I see. Well you need to remember, she is...." She paused to rethink her words. As not to hint to him she was not human"...my sister....and if you want me to continue to be nice to you I would ask only that you treat her too with respect." She requested.
" I shall try." D answered. Then lifted the brew to his lips and took a sip. He glanced up, Sabriel was gone again. Perhaps to get him the breafast she'd offered. He was about to set the drink down when a rude voice interupted him.
" Hey! Dunpeal."
D glanced over at the table with a group of morning drunks." Great." He muttered with disdain.
Before he knew it the group of men stood above him. One knocked his drink right out of his hands. The glass spilled upon hitting the floor. D tried his best to maintain his temper. But he knew it was not infanite.
" I'm talking to you!" Snapped one of the men. D stared at him. As the man continued." There ain't nothing here for you! So leave!"
" I'm only passing through." D stated, again in a calm voice.
“ Didn’t you hear me, freak. Get out. Or we’ll have to hurt you..” He trailed off and raised a pipe, which he held. Abruptly D roughly gripped the man’s arm and tossed him forcefully back, the man crashed right through the table. D stood from his chair slowly and backed up. The others, had chains, guns, and switch blades, true D had a bigger weapon. But these were just drunk men. He could easily take them without using his sword.
“ You don’t want to do this.” He said calmly.
The men laughed. The one with the chain swung and tried to slam D in the face. But D quickly swept his head down to duck it. And roughly elbowed the man in the face.
The one with the gun fired. D’s hand caught the bullet gently inbetween his thumb and index finger( impossible? Not for D) In turn, D lifted his leg and kicked the man to the ground. He looked at the one with the switch blade.
“ I suppose you are next.” D mused. Aware fully of the first guy trying to sneak up behind him with a chair. D smirked slightly and reached back, grabbed the leg of the chair, had enough strength to lift both the chair and the man over his head. And crashed him right into the man with the switch blade. And though the barkeep watched. He did nothing but watch with amusement.
The men scrambled to their feet and stumbled with fear out the doors. D. Shook his head and walked back over to his seat and sat back down as is nothing had happened.
“ You are remarkable.” He looked up to see Sabriel there, holding a plate of food for him and another mug of ale.
“ They were drunk and could barely stand straight.” He explained. Trying not to take any credit.
“ Still. I’ve never seen anyone who could do that.” She said. Putting his plate down. “ May I join you...D? Can I call you that?” She asked cutiously.
“ Yes, you may sit with me, and yes. I prefer to be called by my name. Not by Dunpeal.” He stated.
Sabriel sat down in a chair beside him and spoke,” It must get annoying.” She started.
“ What?”
“ Being treated badly all the time just because you are well...not fully human.” She seemed to speak softer as she finished.
“ I’ve learned to cope. I see you have.” He pointed out.
“ So you know then.” She mused. He nodded. She seemed ot sink in her chair.
“ I’m not going to hurt you because of your inheritance. You’re the purest woman with vampire blood, that I have meet.” He stated softly to her, as he contiued to eat.
“ I don’t think that it is a good idea to show you the town.” She paused as D stared at her. She merely shook her head,” I’ve already seen how you’ve been treated here.”
“ You are kind to care.” D said. And knew he liked her. Not because she was beautiful on the outside. But because she was half vampire and still knew how to love and care. Something D wished he knew. But he had to ask himself. Was he going to let himself know?
