'It's certainly been a busy week, and it isn't even halfway over with yet.' Mr. Terada thinks to himself. After Leo had been transferred to the school yesterday, Meilin Rea had now returned today along with two students who were on there way right now. Hearing the door being knocked upon, Mr. Terada permits the ones outside the door to come in. "Ah, you two must be Josh Karthing and Wulf Drum..."
"Drumhilde, sir," Wulf says helpfully and Mr. Terada makes a mental note of the pronunciation.
"Where are you from, Wulf?"
"Switzerland, sir,"
Mr. Terada mentally shakes his head. He certainly had a mixed bag of students for a homeroom. "Take the seats over there." he says pointing out two desks near where Lee, Meilin, Madison and Sakura were seated. Hearing there teacher's voice, the small group turn to see a thin boy with glasses and a much taller boy with long, blond hair take the last unoccupied desks. Lee inwardly sighs seeing that it looked like they had gotten yet another foreign exchange student and the other boy seemed to know the blond boy. Then he saw the expression on Leo's face and Lee was shocked to see that there was anger there.
'What's going on around here?' he asks in his mind, but Mr. Terada gets everyone elses attention and Lee's thoughts were cut short.

Leo smiles cruelly to himself. He was about to confront the two fools who had now dared to show up. He knew that his master and his ally had anticipated their arrival to this forsaken town, but he didn't like the Soviet. No user of magic should make such a pact with a non-magical user unless it's absolutely necessary , and To Akurax, Sian didn't need help in defeating these fools.
"Well Drumhilde, you and Karthing certainly know when to show up when you're least wanted." Leo says coming up to the two boys as they head for lunch.
"You certainly know us a little too well, Leo." Wulf responds.
"That's because I've got Ethel's(1) blood running through my veins. She certainly was a roach wasn't she Wulf?" Leo asks taunting the boy.
"Don't think that you did my family any favors, vampire." Wulf bites back.
"I don't do favors for heroes like you. I suggest that you stay out of my plans. Killing that foolish bitch of a vampire was only part of a grander plan. She would get in the way. Of course, since you are a hero you'll interfere no matter what I say. I warn you now, getting in the way is too much for the two of you to handle." Leo says turning away from the two and walking away. Wulf calms himself as Josh looks thoughtful. While this display was going on, Lee had been watching the whole thing and had come to a decision. He would need to convince Sakura and that damned stuffed animal of his idea. Sakura would be the easy part, but Kero would probably be the one to resist.
"Leo is certainly infuriating for a vampire." Josh says making sure that his friend was calmed down.
"He's just an underling for someone else. A powerful underling, but still an underling. We'll just have to deal with him." Wulf says and the two head for lunch.

"Where the hell have you been, Lee?!" Meilin fumes as Lee sits beside Sakura. The small group of Lee, Sakura, Meilin, and Madison were at the same tree that Lee and Sakura had been Monday when Leo made his presence felt. However, there was one more amongst this gathering, but one couldn't see him from a far. Kero had tagged along to see if he could get a feel of this Leo, but he was getting nothing.
"Leo had an interesting conversation with our two new students. He's a vampire and seemingly knows those two and claims that he killed an enemy of Wulf's family." Lee explains.
"He's certainly hiding his aura well. This one is either very smart, or someone else is pulling the strings." Kero remarks wondering why a vampire had taken such an interest in Readington.
"What I'm about to suggest goes against every bit of training I've ever received, but I don't think we've got any choice." Lee says and the guardian beast looks like he knows what Lee was about to say.
"Kid, if you are thinking what I think you're thinking...,"
"We may need all the help we can get. I'm willing to let secrets be damned if it will help us with that vampire."
"Kid," Kero sighs trying to come up with a counter argument but fails and resigns himself, "You're right. Normally I wouldn't even think of letting outsiders in to help, but they may be brought into this whether we like it or not. I seriously doubt, however, that Leo is working alone. He seems to be some sort of plant for someone else."
"Who?" Sakura asks.
"Don't know, but they'll let themselves be known sooner or later." Kero replies.
"I hope sooner," Meilin says cracking her knuckles while Lee rolls his eyes.
"Then we are in agreement?" Lee asks after shaking off Meilin's eagerness to fight.
"Yeah, I'll inform Yue of this development." Kero says. What the group couldn't know was that they were being watched by a force that Kero would have known right away.
'You're right Keroberos, Leo is only a subordinate. I'm the controlling force and I'll make my presence known very soon.' Sian thinks as he watches. Then, from the ear piece in his left ear, he hears the voice of his ally.
"Well?" Sigma-Black asks.
"They have a class in the afternoon where I'll be able to work my magic."
"Good, and the Karthing boy?"
"The two sets of heroes haven't formally met yet. Shaoran was the one to propose an alliance of some sorts. Most likely my bat got a little too aggressive. I'll have to deal with him."
"Why not destroy him?"
"He still has a purpose. Plus, I need his eyes and ears inside the school. His attitude towards our alliance will have to be tweaked, though."
"I did what you suggested, and your prediction of what your brother would do was correct. He's poking around in the cave where I found you."
"It'll take him sometime to get to where he sealed me and the other cards. I'll have just enough time to have a little fun." Sian says laughing and Sigma-Black joins in as well.

While watching the boys run around kicking a black and white ball, Sian Reed focuses his powers and concentration on the sphere. After his spell was caste, the ball spins in mid air, a foot away from Wulf, who had been playing goalie, and both sides saw the ball grow limbs and lunges at the blond. Sian smirks seeing the other kids run for their lives as Josh stands in stunned silence as Lee calls forth his sword. Wulf gets to his feet after the ball had tackled him and had given him several harsh blows to the face.
"Wrong move," Was the only thing that Wulf says and he lunges after the enchanted soccer ball. Lee sighs in frustration as he watches the ball continuously dodge Wulf's violent attacks.
"If he wasn't so damn close I could get in there and attack!" Lee says frustrated at the current situation. Josh sighs knowing why Wulf was attacking like he was.
"He's gone into his 'berserker mode'. He won't stop attacking until that thing can't fight anymore or it gives a hard enough blow to his head to bring him out of it." Josh explains while calculating how long it would take him to get his equipment and get back. Before he could make a decision either way, Meilin comes from the side and delivers a kick that knocks the ball away. The ball recovers but is blasted with Lee's Lightning.
"It was a good idea to attack Drumhilde like that, master." Akurax, now in bat form, says from Sian's right shoulder.
"Attacking wildly like that got him no where, but I didn't think that Sakura and Meilin would be able to get to them so quickly." Sian says as Sakura targets the shot card and the ball had to move even faster to avoid being destroyed.
"Sian, your brother has found your former resting place." Sigma-Black says from the ear piece.
"I'll deal with him. I'll just need to multiply the soccer ball." he says and castes another spell. Once again the ball spins in mid air and splits into three. With that, Sian Reed leaves to go and deal with his half reincarnated brother.
"Three of them! What the hell is going on?" Meilin yells as the three balls now pick targets to go after. One now had its attention on Sakura, but Lee was there to back her up. The second and third were attacking Wulf and Meilin.
"I'll attack it first, when it dodges nail it." Lee says to Sakura who nods in response. Lee lets loose a lightning bolt which the ball avoids, but the shot card fires off a energy bolt which strikes the enchanted, cloned ball. The damage it took puts a hole in it and it deflates and vanishes. Meilin and Wulf weren't so lucky with their foes. The one that Meilin was currently fighting grabs her and throws her into Wulf and the two fall to the ground.
"What is your head made out of!?" Meilin yells out rubbing the side of her head trying to recover from being thrown into Wulf.
"My head?" Wulf grunts out coming out of his berserker mode. "Where's that damn," he says seeing not one but two balls laughing at him. "I thought there was only one. Where did the other one come from?"
"Whoever brought the first ball to life multiplied that one into three. One's been destroyed, but there are still two left and I've got one of them." Josh, who had decided that he would get his equipment, responds as he joins in the battle by firing a mini-missile at the one that had been focusing on Wulf. Wulf nods at his friend in acknowledgement as he turns to the third ball that was dodging all of Meilin's kicks.
"They're using their speed as a defense. I've got to provoke this one to attack me directly." Wulf says to himself then he turns to the ball in question. "Hey pentagon face, I've seen basketballs made better than you. You aren't that tough because you're a piece of sporting equipment from a second tier sport!" That did it. The enchanted ball ignores Meilin and charges towards Wulf. When it swings its arm at the boy, Wulf grabs it and squeezes hard. "You're stronger than you look. I thought you were using your speed to defend yourself in order to tire us out. It seems that once that would have happened you would have enough physical strength to hurt us. A normal person might not be able to handle your strength, but I've been accused of not being so normal!" and with that, Wulf violently rips the arm off of the ball and it deflates, but it doesn't disappear like the other one did. Once all the magic was released from the ball, it re-inflates and returns to a harmless soccer ball. Wulf smiles to himself and then turns to see that Josh had taken care of the third one.

"Master, you've been staring at that chain for several minutes. What does it mean?" Spinner asks looking at the broken links of a chain that his master was examining.
"This chain plus the ice I incased my brother in suppresses his powers. This chain cannot be broken by magical methods. Yet, the chain is damaged and I'm not completely sure why. It might have been..." Eli says but is interrupted by the sound of an explosion. The two run to get back to the entrance of the cave, but they are stopped by a wall of rock.

***

Standing outside the cave, Sian Reed smirks at the destruction that he had just caused. He knew that his brother would get himself out of there, but that would use up some of his power and that would hinder his brother in defeating him. Although, if he couldn't get himself out of this situation then his dear brother would die.

Stay tuned for "Brothers in Arms".
