Chapter 2

I love you baka!!

It had been a week since Kyo had sought out Ayame for help and he still hadn’t managed to tell Yuki that he was in love with him. He was currently sitting on his bedroom floor talking with Haru as to find the best way to go about it.

“Why don’t you just walk up to him and if he’s alone in the room take a deep breath and say it… If not then ask if you can talk to him in private first before just telling him how you feel”

“But what if he doesn’t feel the same? What if… what if he rejects me..?”

“Well if he does then I know one person more than willing to share his bed with you”

Kyo looked a little shocked at this statement but it didn’t stop his eyes from brightening and a small smile from dancing on the edges of his lips.

“Who?” Kyo asked a little puzzled

“Ayame”

Kyo immediately blushed “how did you find out about that?!”

“Huh? Find out about what? Ayame’s had a thing for you for ages!”

“Shyea right…” Kyo replied trying to cover his embarrassment and hoping Haru didn’t probe any deeper into what Kyo had nearly blurted out.

“ANYWAY….” Kyo was “subtly” changing the subject “I need the loo”

“Nice coz that’s something I really needed to know”

“Hehe too late you know now! Ill be right back” Kyo said getting up and walking out of the room closing his door behind him. Unfortunately he wasn’t looking where he was going and walked straight into no-one other than Yuki.

“Hey watch where your walking baka neko” (stupid cat ^.^)

“Yuki… I have to tell you something…” Kyo said blushing and not bothering to insult Yuki like he normally did.

“Well? What is it idiot ?”

Kyo tried to open his mouth to say those three little words that would his change his life for better or worse only the man upstairs knew the answer to that one.

“ I …I …Yuki ..I”

“ look if you haven’t got anything good to say im going because I have a life and things to do” Yuki interjected and then walked away.

Suddenly Kyo’s bedroom door opened and Haru stuck his head out .
“That was pathetic!”

“Shut up I don’t need to hear that from you” Kyo snapped as he walked in the opposite direction towards the bathroom.

The rest of the day was extremely awkward for Kyo. Dinner even more so because he was sat opposite Yuki and was caught staring at him a few times although not by Yuki himself but by Shigure and could be heard snickering to himself before asking if anyone was in a relationship to the room in general, surprisingly everyone answered .

“No I’m not but there is a guy I like” Tohru answered first

“Yep im with Rin” Haru answered second

“Nah im not” Kyo answered third trying to sound like he didn’t care and waiting on pins for Yuki’s answer

Blushing Yuki answered: “ I am. I’m dating a ….guy…from school”

At that moment Kyo was sure he felt his heart break.

“OoOoOoOo Yuki I didn’t know you swung that way !!” Shigure teased

“Shut up” Yuki replied blushing more “ so what about you Mr only-one-not-to-answer”

Shigure giggled before answering “im with Hatori have been for a few months now”

Everyone looked shocked and didn’t know what to say so they all went back to their meal and didn’t say a word to each other. Tohru was the first to speak after the meal was over.

“Um… Kyo …would you mind helping me in the kitchen please?”

“Sure” with his usual scowl fixed on his face he helped Tohru collect the dishes and take them out to be washed whilst the rest of the family wandered off to their allocated rooms. (Haru wandered off to Kyo’s room as he was staying the night and bunking with Kyo)

*Damn Rat! Well at least I know he likes boys…but I love him! Why is he with another? Why can’t that guy be me ? ..This hurts so bad…*

“Kyo ? ….Kyo are you ok?”

“Huh?…oh yea im fine…”

“But there are tears in your eyes…”

Kyo blinked and sure enough a tear fell down his cheek, he quickly wiped it away.

“Don’t be silly you must be imagining things Tohru… I don’t cry!” and that said Kyo walked out of the room a broken man.

Not up to seeing anybody right now Kyo climbed on to the roof and watched the star filled sky, silent tears rolling down his cheeks threatening to drown him if he didn’t stop.

“Kyo?! KYO!! Where are you?”

“KYO!!!”

“BAKA NEKO?!”

Kyo had fallen asleep on the roof. He woke to hear various voices calling out his name but it was the last voice that made him feel like a knife had been twisted in his heart. Kyo couldn’t understand it really. It really baffled him as to why he was so upset. He had never had the guts to confess to Yuki that he loved him and Yuki was probably happy with his boyfriend anyway…..

“Atchoo!!”

“He’s on the roof!!” he heard Shigure cry

*Damn I didn’t want to be found yet*

“Let me go talk to him …please” he heard Tohru plead. Next thing he knew she was climbing onto the roof and then sitting next to him.

“ Kyo what’s wrong?”

“What makes you think there’s something wrong ?

“Call it women’s intuition”

“It’s nothing. You wouldn’t understand”

“How do you know until you try me?”

“ok” Kyo replied taking a deep breath ( he was trying Haru’s technique of taking a breath before saying something difficult- he says it makes what you have to say come out easier!)

“Ok there’s a person I like but they don’t like me back and it hurts so much I feel like I could die…”

* It really did work…huh.*

“Its Yuki right?”

If Kyo hadn’t been sitting down he would have fallen off the roof

“H-how did you know ?!?!”

“Again women’s intuition… and trust me I know exactly how you feel”

“You like him too huh?”

“No Kyo I like you” the words were out of Tohru’s mouth before she could stop them

“I…uh …uh…ATCHOO!!”

Tohru giggled and it softened the sad expression on her face.

“Baka we had best get you inside before you die of pneumonia”

Whilst Tohru tucked Kyo up in bed Shigure called his lover to come and check up on the “idiot that slept on the roof”

“You have a cold Kyo. I suggest plenty of bed rest and drink plenty of orange juice and water although not together because I doubt that would taste very nice.”

“Well I’ll be off now Akito will want me for something or other” said Hatori getting up from Kyo’s bedside to leave the room pausing to kiss Shigure on his way out.

“Um… Kyo” Tohru said after everyone had left “ about what I said earlier”

“It’s ok Tohru im sorry… I can’t return your feelings”

“I know but you have to tell him sooner or later you know that don’t you?”

“Yea but at the moment im choosing later”

“Well ok… are you hungry you haven’t eaten yet”

“Actually now you mention it im starving”

“Ok well ill get you some breakfast and bring it up to you try to get some rest ok”

Kyo must have fallen asleep because the next thing he knew there was a figure sitting on the edge of his bed.

“That was fast Tohru!” Kyo said without opening his eyes

“Open your eyes idiot im not Tohru”

Kyo’s eyes sprung open “Yuki! W-what are you doing here?!”

“I brought you your breakfast baka! Tohru said that she had to do something urgently and asked me to bring it to you”

“Oh thanks..”

“What were you doing on the roof all night?”

“ I …uh … I was stargazing and I…err…must have fallen asleep…”

“Oh come on I know you only go on the roof to sulk! Now tell me what got you down or ill dump your breakfast on your head!”

“I …can’t”

“Ok you asked for it” Yuki reached for Kyo’s breakfast which was on a tray on Kyo’s bedside table.

“WAIT! Ok …ok ill tell you ….Yuki …I …Lo-”

“Yuki!!” Momiji burst in the room “ ah good I found you!”

“Momiji?!?” both boys exclaimed

“How long have you been here twerp” Kyo snapped some of his usual characteristics coming back to him.

“Not long I came to get Yuki! I want to play a game and I can’t find Tohru and Haru went back to the main house with Hatori so I have no one to play wiiiith!!”

“Ok I’m coming just give me a minute ok?”

“YAAAY!!! YUKI’S GUNNA PLAY WITH MEEEEE!” Momiji sang as he shut the door and skipped down the hall.

“Now what were you saying?”

“ I..Oh never mind. I’ll tell you later”

“Okaay” Yuki said as he got up and walked away. But he paused by the door. “ Hey idiot! Eat up and get some sleep ‘Kay?”

“ Okay”

*Damn brat bursting in like that!! 30 more seconds and I would have told him!*

Meanwhile outside Kyo’s room (corny but it had to be said!) Yuki was leaning on the wall next to Kyo’s door

*was Kyo just about to say what I think he was going to say? What do I do now do I pretend I don’t know what he was going to say or do I tell him….*

Yuki’s thoughts were interrupted by Momiji pulling on his hand.

“Yuuuki!! You said you would play with meeeeee!!!!”

“Yea … let’s go outside”

Kyo finished his breakfast and went to sleep he managed to sleep the whole day away. The day went pretty quickly for Yuki and it was dark before he knew it. He’d spent the whole day playing with Momiji and Tohru ( she joined in after she was finished with her ‘urgent business’ really she was hiding in the garden she wanted Yuki to be alone with Kyo and figured this was the best she could come up with right now). Not long before however Tohru had gone inside to prepare the dinner.

“My dearest younger brother! How are you on this lovely evening? If you aren’t busy we should use this time to deepen our brotherly bond!” a very familiar voice called across the garden to Yuki

“Not a chance! Why are you here Ayame?”
“How cold! … I came to see Kyo. I heard he is unwell and thought maybe he would like to see me”

“ And just why would he like to see you?”

“ Such nosiness! That’s between me and Kyo” Ayame giggled as he ran off towards the house.

Kyo was asleep when Ayame burst in the room and bounced on the bed

“Momiji go away im tired” Kyo mumbled sleepily whilst turning over.

Ayame leaned over Kyo and bit his earlobe “im not Momiji” Ayame purred in Kyo’s ear.

Kyo’s eyes sprung open in surprise for the second time that day.

“W-what re you doing here?”

“I came to see if the cat im so fond of is ok”

“I’m fine you can go now”

“Such coldness and here I came to tell you something important”

“What?” Kyo asked sitting up

“I love you”
