Chapter Two
Hello all, sorry for the long wait, but I've been busy. Thanks to those who reviewed the last chapter and I hope you like this one. It is just a filler and gets going soon.
Oh and someone said I needed a beta-reader, but to be honest, I can't be bothered with the hassle. I've done the best I can and if you don't like it, then you don't have to read it.
To those who do, please enjoy.

Chapter Two
Yuki pursed his lips as he looked out the window. It had been a year since that pink haired idiot had stormed his way into his life. He turned it upside down and inside out. He was loud, annoying, and he could never stay still for a moment. At that time, Yuki didn’t want anything to do with the brat, he didn’t want anyone in his life, he didn’t think he was lonely.
But as time passed, he found himself liking the way Shuichi acted. He found his heart warming to the brat. Yuki knew he treated the younger man like shit, throwing him out when he was annoying and making him sleep on the couch most nights, but Yuki knew he wouldn’t be able to live without his brat.
When Shuichi came into his life, Tohma and Mika were always trying to get him out of it. Yuki didn’t understand why they didn’t like him, well, he knew why Tohma didn’t. His brother-in-law was in love with him. But he could never love Tohma back, yeah he can admit that the man had been a good friend, especially after what had happened to him in New York, but that was as far as their relationship went. Yuki just wished they would leave him alone to get on with his life. He wished they could see how happy he was with Shuichi in his life, even though he didn’t act that way with Shuichi himself. But nothing he said seemed to satisfy them, especially with them both badgering him to marry Ayaka. He sighed, that woman was the most annoying person he had the misfortune to meet.
Anyway, as the year progressed, Yuki began to notice things about Shuichi. When the younger man wasn’t aware. Yuki would notice his brat didn’t always act like the idiot he was supposed to be. It was just when Shuichi was around him and his friends that the pink haired man would act idiotic. And he had to give the brat credit, he was smarter than he had believed. Also his lover seemed to be on the phone a lot and sometimes disappears for a few hours a week.
At first, he didn’t think anything about it, then his brain came up with an answer, Shuichi was cheating on him. But why? That’s what he couldn’t understand. His lover always told him he loved him, so why? Even though he was armed with this knowledge, he hadn’t done anything, except keep an eye on the younger man, watching him in case he made a mistake. He hoped he was wrong, as he didn’t want to lose his brat.
When Yuki had told Shuichi about what had happened to him in New York, his young lover had become serious, something he never thought he would see. He could remember clearly what the brat had said, he had a far away look on his face, and his purples eyes held a sad look in them as he told him this.
“It wasn’t your fault Yuki, you were pushed into a corner and did the only thing you could do to save yourself. Those guys deserved everything they got. You have to move on, it’s the only way you can live. If it was me I would have done exactly the same thing. I can’t believe how strong you’ve stayed after what you went through. Your stronger than you realise.” Yuki had finally turned his head to look at the younger man to see his big purple eyes were filled with pain and regret. “One day when I’m ready I will tell you everything you don’t know about me.”
That had been a few months ago, and since then, Yuki had wondered what Shuichi had to tell him. What could his lover possibly be hiding to cause such pain to reflect in his eyes. But Shuichi seemed to be pretending that the conversation hadn’t happened, but Yuki was really curious and wanted to know.
He knew it was wrong, but he asked Tohma to look into Shuichi life. The man was the only person he knew who could find out anything he wanted. But Yuki found himself surprised, Tohma had not been able to find out anything. It was like Shindou Shuichi didn’t exist. Maybe that was why Tohma was wary of Shuichi, Yuki just hoped his lover would tell him what was going on soon.
Anyway, everything seemed to going normal, nothing strange had happened and Shuichi had gone back to his annoying self, which was comforting, but when he arrived home today, he found a note telling him Shuichi had gone over to Hiro’s house. Yuki didn’t think anything of it, he just went into the bedroom to take a nap, which was when he found a woman’s skirt hidden in Shuichi’s draw, which hadn’t been closed properly.
Instead of taking his nap, he went out into the front room, and sat on the couch, trying to think of a rational explanation of why Shuichi would have a woman’s skirt. He pursed his lips and then phoned Hiro, but the man told him he hadn’t seen Shuichi. He sat back down on the couch and lit a cigarette.
When the brat finally came home, his clothes were dishevelled and he had a mark on his neck. Instead of getting angry, Yuki made love to him, he was so scared of losing his lover, that he decided not to say anything, not yet anyway.
Yuki had decided what to do next as he lay in bed beside his sleeping lover. He was going to follow Shuichi the next time he went out. He knew it was wrong, but he had to know whether the younger was cheating on him. Why couldn’t he just ask his lover? The answer was simple, he was too scared, to scared of the answer. He guessed if he saw it with his own eyes, it would be different.
Turning on his side, he watched as Shuichi slept. He loved watching the brat sleep. As he too fell asleep, he wondered what he could do to save his relationship, if he did find out Shuichi was cheating on him.
--
The next day, he woke up alone in bed. It was Saturday, so he knew Shuichi didn’t have work. Getting up, he pulled on his pants and headed out to the kitchen. Shuichi sat at the table, drinking from a glass of juice and looking deep in thought for once. Coughing to announce his presence, Shuichi suddenly reverted back to his usual self, asking me too many questions, leaving him unsure which ones to answer. Yuki sighed when Shuichi suddenly got up and went into the bedroom to get dressed.
When the brat came back, he told Yuki he was going out for a while. The older man grunted a reply and went to get dressed himself. When his lover shouted he was leaving, Yuki waited a moment, before he too left the apartment, making sure to grab a hat on the way out to cover his hair.
He followed Shuichi to a mailbox and saw his lover post a letter, which wasn’t suspicious. He continues walking and Shuichi goes into a store on the corner of the street. Yuki followed him in, and was suddenly grabbed by the arm, and pulled into a deserted aisle.
Yuki stood opposite his lover, Shuichi’s eyes flashing in anger.
“Why are you following me?” He demanded.
“I’m not.” Yuki said, in a lame attempt to deny that he was.
Shuichi sighed and looked at his watch, he groaned. “Look, I know there’s a lot you don’t know about me, and I promised I would tell you when the time was right, and I will. In a few days, you will know all about me. I have to go…there is one thing you can do, pack a bag…soon we will need to get away for a while, please don’t question me, just do it.” He kisses Yuki on the lips, picks up a drink from the shelf and heads to the counter.
Yuki watched as the brat paid for his purchase and left the store. He was in time to see a black car stop beside Shuichi and his lover got in the backseat and the car drives off down the street and disappears. Yuki was now very suspicious, but he did what Shuichi asked, he went home and packed a bag, leaving it by the front door, for easy access.
Going into his study, he tried to concentrate on his novel, but he couldn’t get his mind off what Shuichi said. His lover was right, he knew nothing about him. He sighed and wondered why the younger man had kept all this a secret for so long, especially when he told Shuichi his deepest darkest secret.
In the meantime, Yuki kept himself busy by cleaning the apartment, he usually got Shuichi to do it, but he needed to keep his mind occupied. He wondered again who the two guys in that car were. He could ask Tohma to find out for him, but the last time he had asked, Tohma was unable to find out anything. Yuki sighed, he was annoyed because he wasn’t in control, he didn’t know anything, he needed control.
Shuichi didn’t get home until later that evening, his clothes were once again rumpled and he had marks all over his neck. Yuki saw that he was trying to hide them, but he could easily see them. He wanted to confront his lover, but he was too scared. Yuki bit his lip, as he made dinner, trying to act normally, like nothing was wrong, but he could tell Shuichi was worried about something. The younger man was not acting like himself, it’s like he went out and came home a completely different person.
It was just another sign that he knew nothing at all about Shindou Shuichi.
