Chapter 2
Tyki lay under a tree, staring at the branches stirring softly above him. Allen is alive…Allen is alive…How could Allen be alive? Tyki had had his tease bite into his heart, which was an internal wound that could kill any human. Was Allen Walker just some super being? Did he possess powers greater than the Noah, or even the Millennium Earl? He grit his teeth and covered his eyes with his arm. “No, that can’t be. What kind of an exorcist could be stronger than we Noah, or the Earl?”
“Yo, Tyki.” Road called as she came up to him, Lero floating alongside her. He sat up and greeted her similarly. She had an impish smile on her face. “The Earl wants us to go to London.”
Tyki gave her a questioning look and propped himself up on his knees and looked out over the hills of the Japanese countryside they were staying in for the time being. “Why? Isn’t Cross supposed to be here? And what about the Ark?”
Road smiled. “He thinks he has an idea of where the Heart is…”
“In London?”
She nodded and turned, grabbing Lero. He let out a little squeal as she gruffly opened him and used him to shade herself from the sun. “I suppose he thinks that getting to the heart will help speed things along…”
Tyki looked over at her and sighed, getting up to follow her. He asked, “What about Jasdero and David? Are they staying to take care of the exorcists?”
“Yup…” Road replied and smiled at him. “He’s sending us to London.”
Tyki thought it was strange. With the Ark being in such unstable condition, wouldn’t the Earl want them both here? Or at least Road or Tyki alongside Jasdero and David? He shook his head. “I don’t see why he wants us both to go. I mean, most of those damned exorcists will be flocking around Asia trying to find Cross.”
Lero piped up then with, “He doesn’t think so, Lero. The Earl feels that the exorcists will have this news as well, and wants you to be prepared, Lero.”
Tyki huffed slightly. “Well, how nice of him. When do we leave, Road?”
“He wanted us in London yesterday when we talked.” Road giggled and continued walking.
There wasn’t anything Tyki could do but go with Road to London. Though his head was clambering still for some reason as to how Allen could have lived through the extremities he had put his body under. Tyki hated this feeling. It was like someone had taken that relief he had had when he knew Allen was dead, and yanked it away suddenly like taking a gift from a child. Somehow, he had had a feeling that it was only temporary anyways. Tyki had an unfamiliar pull that replaced the force that wanted Allen dead. When he “died” so to speak, the pull grew stronger until he wasn’t sure he could hardly bear it anymore. What made it worse, was knowing that Allen may be there in London, waiting for them so to speak.
“Tyki…you’re quiet.” Road noted as they stepped out onto the cobblestone road.
“Just thinking.” He replied and pulled off his top hat and then pulled out his hair, letting his curls fall around his face. “I’ll head North and you’ll head South then, Road?” When she nodded he replied with one nod of his own then let himself turn ‘white’, where he pulled on his glasses and lit a cigarette. “Then we’ll meet back in a few hours and go East and West unless we find anything before then.”
As Road turned South, Tyki looked around at the people. There were Akuma everywhere, mostly level ones. Their blind devotion border lined stupidity at times, though they were useful. Some of them were smart enough to not really bring attention to Tyki himself, which was a good thing for the moment, even though the Exorcists would recognize him right away. All they did to acknowledge him was to turn their eyes in his direction for a brief moment, then look away again. I guess for now…we’ll search for the innocence…and maybe those Exorcists… Tyki thought, and a feral grin came across his face, his features stretching. He smiled through his fingers as he covered his face to hide this strange look from any humans wandering amongst the Akumas. If I see you, Allen Walker, I am going to kill you.

There wasn’t much to London but the people, who were everywhere. There had been a strange phenomenon where suddenly, a boom in population occurred, and people began appearing who had the same form and look as those who had died. Many children, mothers, fathers, grandparents, and even newborns were with their families, going out for walks and shopping together. Tyki didn’t know all the details himself, but he had been to London once before, and he never remembered it being this crowded. The busy streets didn’t strike him as odd, so much as the people he saw. The people seemed to have a twin. Each person had a mirrored image of himself or herself that went about their own business, alongside the original. The only people that didn’t seem to have twins, were the Akuma themselves, who continued to almost ignore Tyki as he walked the streets.
No matter how queer this city had become, Tyki continued his search, but wielded no results. After hours of searching, he returned to find Road at their meeting point. “Have you seen anything Road?”
She shook her head and smiled. “But I think the Exorcists are here…”
Tyki glanced around, half expecting to see them walking nearby. “Already? What makes you say that?”
“Some of the Akuma told me they thought they saw some people dressed in dark jackets. They didn’t see the emblems well, but they’re positive they’re here.” She turned toward the East, smiling at him. Tyki wondered why the Akuma hadn’t notified him as well, but what she said next caught his attention. “Also, they thought they saw a white haired boy with them…”
From Road’s sinister look, Tyki could see that she was as anxious to get at Allen as he was. He grinned, and it almost turned into a sneer. “If you see him Road, don’t kill him. That is my job…”
~~~
“It was your job…” She reminded him then began walking along. “It’s fine. If you don’t kill him first, then I guess I’ll get to see his sad face when he sees all his friends are dead…”
He turned and headed West. The sun was beginning to set, and he didn’t know how much longer they were going to search, but hopefully, they’d find the Heart. Or at least the Exorcists. He lit a cigarette and he looked about him at the humans. Such small, insignificant creatures compared to the Noah. They possessed nothing, no powers, no abilities of their own really. All they had was their love, and their lives. The Noah’s eyes softened a little. He wished everything was that simple. The power he had was amazing, but this feeling he felt when around an Exorcist, when hew as around the innocence, it all made him sick. Tyki was controlled by his instinct to kill these pathetic beings to the point that he almost no longer had the power to control himself anymore. He hated it.
Tyki gasped when a surge of power surfaced in him, and every fiber of his being become alive with the power he possessed. The Tease, which were contained in his own body through the Earl’s power and his own, squirmed excitedly in his hands, making them twitch and tingle. Using his willpower, Tyki had the feelings sink down into him and diminish slowly until it was only a buzz in the back of his mind. He frowned as he looked around, realizing that Exorcists were very close now. Tyki ducked back into the awning of the shop and waited a minute, wondering if they were so close he’d see them walk by. Time went by, and nothing happened. Wondering if it was just a jumpy feeling he had from being on edge and thinking about the Exorcists a little more than needed.
He gasped again and this time, it was harder keeping that feeling down. Tyki dropped his cigarette and glared at the crowd again, searching for some sign of what was the cause of his discomfort. The urge to kill buzzed through him and his eyes slanted again. What is causing me to burn so much inside? It was as if some angry monster inside of him was clawing to get out. There was a moment of silent suffering as Tyki watched the crowd more closely now and waited out the raging feelings. Tyki saw something out of the corner of his eye and looked towards his right, across the cobblestone street. At first, it seemed lost in the crowd, but then he saw it. A head of white hair, shorter than most of the adults walking by. He was standing there, and whenever the crowd thinned out, he saw a group in black coats, all staring at what the young boy with white hair was staring at. Tyki Mikk frowned a moment then gave a smirk, an almost inviting one, to the boy. It seems I will get to kill you after all, Allen Walker, he thought and took a few steps out into the sunlight and turned for an alleyway.
There was shouting behind him, and Allen’s name rang out amongst the commotion. Tyki decided if he didn’t get running soon, he would be hit from behind, so he began to run along the ground before climbing the air. He used it as a staircase and ran up to the wall of a building, disappearing through it to take shelter inside. Allen would have been close enough to see him just as he was vanishing through the wall, so he expected him to appear in a moment. Taking a little bit of time, he looked around the room he was in. It looked like it hadn’t been used in a long time. An abandoned dresser lay on its side with a few books and garments scattered around it on the floor. Off to the corner was a bed with old and slightly tattered sheets. He walked over towards it, and then went to a window on the other side of the room, one that was facing the street. He could see the Akuma crowding around the Exorcists in the street, and so began a lot of banging and crashing. Tyki couldn’t see Allen among them.
