Kyo was out gathering wood his arms full of twigs and logs. He was reaching his limit of carrying things and as he bent down to grab the wood that was blocking his way, his eyes connected with something blond. But when he turned his head fully to take a better look he was disappointed in finding nothing close to the color he had seen.
Her back was pushed up against the tree as she panted. That had been close, the last thing she wanted was to have him find her. She waited for him to pass and eventually she was alone again. Her camp was near the trio’s but she made sure to hide herself keeping to the black part of the forest. She made sure to not light a fire too keep herself hidden. For how long she would keep following the three she didn’t know but soon they would find her and she would be ready….
“Where is Koishi?” Kyo was confused, the girl never expressed anything about leaving.
Miyu sighed and pointed toward a river that wasn’t more then a half a mile away “Bathing.” That was all she said.
Kyo set the fire wood that he had gathered in a pile next to the roaring fire Miyu had made while he was gone. He didn’t have anything else to say so once he was done with the fire wood he sat down on his blankets and just stared into the fire. They stile had a ways to go till they reached Suzaku village.
Ever since they had left Konan Miyu had been especially quiet. She didn’t seem like the silent type. He turned his head and to his surprise caught her staring at him. Her cheeks spread with her blush, he smiled at her and she scoffed then stood.
“Gosh you’re so needy! Im going for a walk, don’t follow me.” Miyu didn’t even turn to make sure he wasn’t following her she just headed straight into the forest they were camped out by.
When she was sure she was far enough away from camp for nobody to hear her she let out a frustrated scream.
*Miyu you have really done it this time.* Her thoughts were angry *You leave your bandits, you promise people things that are impossible for you to do.* Her fists were clutched tightly at her sides as she slowly walked farther into the forest.
Her eyes were closed as she continued to bas herself in her thoughts, so she didn’t sense the danger that was quickly coming upon her. The tiger was ready to pounce on her when she finally opened her eyes and stared straight into its eyes. Her body was petrified as it watched her. Her mind worked fast to try and find a solution to her obvious danger. She reached for her back and grabbed for the fan…..that wasn’t there. Her scream of frustration and fear were mixed as the tiger jumped at her snarling.
Miyu was convinced that she was dead, but pain never came. She slowly opened one eye and found the tiger running off with its tail on fire. Kyo stood in front of her one leg in front of the other the fan she had given him clutched in his hands as she panted from using the power for the first time.
She couldn’t help but feel like this boy really wanted to protect her. She blinked a few times as she moved out of her defense and let her arms rest at her sides. Kyo turned to look at her still panting.
“Miyu! You dummy, what the hell were you thinking?” All Miyu could do was stare at him, he looked as though he had run a marathon.
“I could have defended myself! You didn’t have to do that.” She barked back at him. She was leaning forward now her fists trembling with anger or was it fear? She didn’t know.
“Screaming at the tiger wasn’t going to do anything for saving your life.” Her attitude was not helping the situation. “I saved your ass now admit it!” He placed the fan back onto his back where it rested.
She bit her lip to keep herself from barking back at him for a second time and say something she didn’t mean. He took that as a sign that she had given up. His hand moved up and he placed his thumb against her lip that she was biting. He traced her lip, she gasped from the warmth his thumb brought.
Her head was spinning and she didn’t really realize that his face was coming closer. Her brain stopped working the moment she felt his lips on hers tasting the drop of blood that beaded on her lip. Kyo tilted his head to the side pressing his lips readily against hers. Her insides were on fire as she greedily took his lips. He pulled her against him and her skin was prickling with excitement. When he was sure he was going to pass out Kyo pulled back from Miyu’s swollen lips panting as he opened his yes to look down at her.
“Miyu…..” She placed her fingers to his lips not wanting his words to ruin this moment. She pushed herself way from him, his hands tightened around her waist. “Don’t push me away please…”
“Kyo you…I don’t know if I can do this.” Her voice was soft as she felt him stare down at her. “Please don’t force me just let me figure this out for myself.” She was more then scared. She had never felt this way and she didn’t know what to do about it.
Kyo let go of her hips letting her back away slowly giving him a timid smile she mouthed ‘thank you’ to him and then started for camp Kyo close behind her. Koishi was back by the time Kyo and Miyu made it back neither of them saying a word just going to bed mumbling something about a hard day in front of them.
The next day was spent in awkward silence. No one talking to the other even Koishi knew better to keep her mouth shut. The air could have been cut with a knife it was so thick. The walk was long even with the horses, but eventually by mid day they were in Suzaku village. It wasn’t as big as Konan but it could hold its own. Street venders littered the roads making the street busy.
Kyo found an Inn and helped the girls lock up there horses and then carried his pack into the Inn with Miyu and Koishi. The bar tender was a big fellow but his smile was kind as he met Kyo at the bar.
“Well hello there young travelers, welcome to the Suzaku Inn what can I get for ya?” He leaned against the sturdy bar.
“Well we need 3 rooms if you would be so kind and of course a hot meal.” He liked this Inn keeper more and more.
“I can do about half that Request, I only have two rooms left. Another group about your size just took my last 3 rooms. Im sorry lad, would that be alright with you?” He looked as though he was truly sorry.
“As long as we get our hot meals I think we should be fine.” Kyo smiled and the girls coughed obviously not wanting to share a room. But they were quickly shut up when Kyo glared at them.
“Of course son.” His smile was bright as he came around the corner to show them the way up stairs to their rooms Koishi very enthusiastically voiced that she would share with Kyo but was quickly turned down and was forced to sleep by herself.
Kyo paid the Inn keeper and went into the room he shared with Miyu the room was small and only consisted of a bed and a thin closet. Miyu was looking around the room her bottom lip was being chewed on giving her a nervous look upon her face. Kyo let his finger tips brush her cheek, his touch startled her and she backed away from him.
“I…I have something to do.” And just like that Miyu was rushing out of the room to the bar.
The bar tender was back at the bar smiling as he did when the group of three first showed up. Miyu sat at the bar and quickly ordered a drink. When he brought her the drink he could tell something was worrying her.
“Alright little one. What’s bothering you? You look a little tense.” He watched as she shot back her liquor.
“Im just not used to having this much responsibility. Everyone’s counting on me and one little wrong move could destroy everything.” She held the cup to her forehead the cold feeling good on her over heated skin.
“Sounds like you need to relax. Tell you what ill let you in on a little secret there is a hot spring about a mile or so into the forest its well used so its safe.” He was cleaning glasses now.
Miyu found no harm in the mans words so she finished her drink paid the bar keeper and then went to find her bag with her cleaning things. Miyu looked around and when she was sure Kyo wasn’t around she made her way to the hot spring. The air was a little chilly but nothing that was out f the ordinary. When she reached the hot spring she found the steaming pool empty. Quickly she striped and probed the water with her toe finding the water to be at perfect tempiture. She lowered her body into the water and let out a sigh of content. The bubbling water licked a crossed her smooth skin she laid her head back against the rim of the bubbling pool the tension she had felt gathering in her body since Kyo had showed up in her bandits hide out finally released from her.
Miyu wasn’t sure how long she had closed her eyes to relax but her eyes sprung open when she heard something move in the bushes. She jumped up from her resting spot and screamed her head off when he saw a black figure fall to its knees and reached behind it to pull out a lantern. Immediately Miyu stopped her screaming and looked a crossed the short amount of grass to the girl who was lit faintly by the lantern.
She was very beautiful girl maybe a couple years older then Miyu. She had black hair and in the dim light Miyu could just barely make out the pair of grey eyes. She wore a think robe obviously coming to the hot spring for the same reason as Miyu.
Miyu’s face softened when she looked at the girl. She moved over in the pool making room for the guest. The girl gratefully accepted the spot that Miyu made for her when they were both relaxing in the pool. The new girl was first to talk.
“So…um what’s your name?” She wasn’t very loud, but Miyu heard her just the same.
Miyu took her time in answering the new girl. “Miyu” Her voice was soft. “And yours? You don’t look like you’re from around here” She turned her head and looked the girl in the eyes.
“Emiko, and no im not. It’s defiantly different here. I’m really quite lost and everyone is depending on me.” she trailed off looking down at the clear water.
“Heh, depending on you? Really? Sounds like we are in the same boat truth is I never wanted to be the priestess, I just wanted to stay with my bandits.” She sighed and then she jumped back when Emiko was directly in front of her now her face extremely close.
“You’re a priestess too!” Her face was beaming with joy and Miyu knew she had gotten herself in trouble. “But how can that be? There is only supposed to be one for Gembu..” Her face was full as confusion as she pulled back and looked down thinking deeply.
“Gembu huh? I’m the priestess of Suzaku although I shouldn’t be…” She looked away embarrassed.
Emiko tilted her head to the side now even more confused at her words.
Miyu’s cheeks burned bright red. “I’m…I’m not a virgin okay? I was 14 and stupid.” She pouted veering her chest with her arms.
“But if you’re not a virgin how do you plan…” Her words were cut off when a bright light shone behind her engulfing both Miyu and Emiko.
Miyu blinked a few times trying to get her vision un blurred. Her hands were placed in front of her as she sat on her knees. She looked down and could make out what felt like tiles beneath her.
“Ahh I see that you two have already met. The voice was scratchy and old.
“Emiko was sitting right beside Miyu. Her hands protectively covering her breasts as best she could. They both whipped there heads into the direction of the voice.
“Who…Who’s there?!?!” they said both of them alarmed.
A little women who floated a crossed the floor came in making her way to the girls. She was old much older then a normal woman should have been. She had white hair and long elegant robes. She smirked as she looked won at the girls because she was hovering above the tiled floor.
Miyu looked at Emiko and then back to the ancient lady. “We just met but…how do you know that? How…” But she was cut off by the floating woman.
“I know because I see everything in this world my name is Tiaksune maker of the Universe of the 4 gods.” She smirked
Emiko gasped as she realized who they were in front of, but blushed as soon as she remembered that they were also naked. “Umm Tiakusne just out of curiosity why did you bring us here?” Her tone was curious.
“And Naked? If you can see all couldn’t you have waited till we were out of the bath?” Miyu was blunt and to the point.
Tiakusne turned to Miyu giving the young girl a glare. “Ah just like your distant relative Tauski so full of fire and rudeness.” She turned back to Emiko. “I brought you here because I need you to take Miyu with you to the real world. You see Miaka took something that she didn’t realize was going to be needed in this world again. If she doesn’t have it Miyu isn’t going to be able to complete her journey and Emiko knows the way around that world.” She was smug as she addressed the two girls.
Miyu raised her hands obviously confused. “Wait Obba-chan. This isn’t making any since what do you mean I have to go to the real world?”
But her question was left unanswered as tiny little bubbles started to fill the room and burst little girls happily coming to life and swarming around the two girls. Clothing them in robes of silk and giggled as they backed away so that Tiaksune could come up close with them floating at eye level.
“Emiko you will take her to the grave of Miaka retrieve what she needs and then make your way back into this world. “ She smiled as she lifted her hands and another bright light shone this one mixing of Green and red.
Miyu moaned as she slowly opened her eyes feeling like she had been hit by a something hard, she couldn’t seem to find her breath as she sat up trying to breath calmly so it wouldn’t leave her body. After a few minutes of catching her breath she started to feel her body again and could feel something rubbing up and down her back and the sound of a gentle voice speaking.
“Miyu…Miyu breath….breath deeply.”
She blinked her eyes a few times and then looked up to find Emiko leaning over her body as she clutched at her stomach. She took a deep breath and then sat up fully only her hands resting over her stomach.
“Im sorry. I don’t know what happened. I just felt like something was taking the breath from my body, crushing me.” Her head was spinning with what was soon to be a splitting head ache.
Emiko looked at her a small smile upon her face obviously trying to be reassuring. “Well maybe it was just passing into the real world hopefully you wont ever have to do it again…except when we have to get back to your world.”
She stood up helping Miyu to her feet and they both took a good look around. Miyu could see a small blush forming on Emiko’s cheek and looked at her curiously. But before she could ask her anything something caught her eye and she took a better look around. This was obviously someone’s bedroom but it was so…strange. The bed was high up and there was something on the desk that was producing light. No candles were in the room and everything seemed to look band new.
Miyu make a quick circle trying to figure out just what exactly where they were. She felt a hand grasp her wrist and she looked up at Emiko confused but amazed at the same time.
“I’ll….I’ll explain later. We have to get out of here before were caught!” Emiko sounded frantic as she looked out the door and then closed it running quickly to the window pulling Miyu with her.
Miyu looked around as much as she could while Emiko was shoving her out the window and they ran down the street. Miyu keeping easy pace with Emiko there were what looked like to her giant lanterns hanging from poles and then she was shoved toward the 20th house they had passed and Emiko quickly shut the door and Miyu could hear something click from behind her as she leaned against the door.
“Where…where are we?” Miyu asked when Emiko had finally caught her breath. “Why…why is everything so different?” She walked over to the table by the kitchen feeling the wood beneath her hands.
Emiko flipped on the light switch making Miyu turn around quickly and look around her eyes squinting as she looked up into the lights. Her face was one of utter confusion not knowing exactly what was going on or where they were.
“Were in my home. The house we were just in, that was Kyo’s home. It’s where both him and I entered your world.” She held the book behind her back not wanting to show Miyu just yet not sure what it would do to her already racing head.
She took a good look around as her body started to calm down from the rush of adrenaline she had while entering this world and running from Kyo’s house. “Were in your world? Why did we have to run from Kyo’s?” She tilted her head to the side curious.
“Because I don’t think his parents would have been very happy finding two girls inside his room without him for any reason. Besides I live alone its alright now you can let down your guard.” She had a really pretty smile Miyu had never really noticed before since she had only met her a few hours ago.
“Ohm I guess your right. Your world…it’s so different. What’s making those lights work? I don’t see flame or anything.” She was now in the kitchen looking at the fridge a little confused but exploring non the less.
“Its called electricity, you don’t need candles.” She smiled and then walked over to Miyu taking her hand and leading her into her room. “Now lets get you into some pajamas so we can get to sleep we have a long day tomorrow finding your bracelets so we can get back to our duties.”
She helped Miyu out of her clothes and giving her a big grey sweat shirt and then a pair of blue striped pajama pants. “There now if someone comes over in the morning your not going to confuse the hell out of them with your clothes.” She giggled pulling out a big fluffy blanket and a pillow taking it out to the couch and placed it down for her.
Miyu gladly crawled underneath the blanket and laid her head down on the pillow her hair fanning around her head as she gave Emiko one last smile and then closed her eyes. She heard Emiko going back into her room and close her door softly. Miyu opened her eyes again and sighed rolling onto her back so she could look up at the ceiling the light had already been turned off.
*You have really gotten yourself into it now Miyu.* Her hand moved up to rest against her forehead closing her eyes once more hoping the morning would come later then it should.
