Chap 2 Shadow Sword

Luffy grew up training to control his shadow power. He sparred with his shadow often, with his shadow mirroring his moves and strength Luffy could feel what was effective and where he needed improvement on he developed his own fighting style using his shadow. "Shadow Form" This fighting style helped Luffy learn to fight in different weaponry and know the importance between close combat and long range combat.

Luffy was training in the forest with his shadow going blow for blow in their intense brawl. Luffy had grown into a fine young man. He treasured Shank's hat and followed his words of fighting with his shadow and no one else's.

Zoro was on the hunt, for who? He was charged with the task of restoring a young woman's shadow, so he set out hunting Gecko Moria. However he had no idea what Moria looked like only that he was a devil fruit user who could manipulate shadows. He was given a map to find Moria's location but he somehow wound up on the island Luffy was training.

The green haired swordsman passed by where Luffy was training with his shadow. 'That must be him Gecko Moria. I knew I wasn't lost.' Sign appears out of nowhere pointing a Zoro. "Completely lost nowhere near Moria's true location." Zoro drew his swords and dove into Luffy's training area. 'According to the intel Moria uses dirty tricks to win fights so best to cut him down quickly.'

Luffy's shadow was quick to act and pulled Luffy out of the way. Luffy stared at the green haired man in shock. "What's the big idea?"

"Shut it pirate, I'm a pirate hunter catching pirates is my job." Zoro said and rushed forward. Luffy dodged and eyed the man with a light blush. "Really you're trying to catch me I don't even have my crew yet this is kinda awesome." Luffy said with a chuckle. 'He must be trying to trick me I won't be fooled.' Zoro thought and readied another attack. Luffy's shadow vanished and Luffy aimed his hand at the ground. "Shadow Form Sword." Luffy said and a pitch black blade similar to Zoro's swords came up from the ground. Luffy picked up the sword and took a fighting stance. "You can try to catch me but I won't make it easy."

'Is he trying to mock me?' Zoro thought with a growl. Zoro rushed at Luffy only to be blocked by his shadow sword. "I haven't had anyone to fight with sword skills let's see what you got." Luffy said and the two clashed Luffy using his left hand to swing his sword around. Luffy was mostly on the defensive but never dropped his smile.

The clang of sword hitting sword rang out through the training area. "Give up can't you see you cannot win like this." Zoro said entering a new stance. "You're right I can't beat you like this." Luffy swapped hands his sword stance changed there was less openings. Luffy rushed forward and for a moment Zoro forgot about fighting Moria and thought about fighting a swordsman of great skill. Luffy was wild he didn't just fight with his sword he swung his fist out with great force.

They clashed for hours both getting tired and sweaty. Zoro lowered his swords for a moment and took the sword out of his mouth. "I didn't think Gecko Moria would fight a fair fight but since you have I will go all out on you." He put the sword back in his. "Oni Giri!"

Luffy stopped for a second. "Moria! My name is not Moria!" Luffy shouted but Zoro was already rushing at him. Luffy growled annoyed at the misunderstanding. "Shadow Shadow Claw." Luffy's sword vanished and Luffy's shadow appeared at his feet in a flash a shadow like claw snaked out Grabbed Zoro and slammed him into a tree. "Now hold it right there my name is Monkey D. Luffy, not Moria."

"Don't lie to me Gecko Moria is a shadow devil fruit user." Zoro said looking down at Luffy's shadow arm. "Which you clearly are" Luffy hit him upside the head. "You dumb ass. There's lots of devil fruit users out there who share similar if not the same powers. I'm telling you I'm not Moria, why are you after him anyway?"

"My client got their shadow stolen by Moria and asked me to retrieve it." Zoro said and Luffy released him. "Look if I help your client will you believe me that I'm not this Moria guy?" Zoro nodded his head. "Ok but first let's go eat and we both could use a shower." Zoro had to admit he was fatigued to the fight with the shadow user was more intense then he thought.
