The Calm
Chapter 21: Loss

She felt closed in, with both of her friends watching her so piercingly. She had to leave, and when they turned from her momentarily to answer a question from both Aurora and an underling, she had vanished.

She could hear Vicious curse loudly at her escape. ‘They should know better. Good thing Aurora decided to help me out. Man, that old ‘Sith-mama, where do babies come from?’ worked like a charm. That girl is sharp. Well, of course, she is MY daughter.’

She wandered about the streets, letting her feet lead her to where she needed to be. Soon, she found herself near where the Bebop was supposedly docked, if her mail from Spike had been accurate, that is. As she neared the old, hulking ship, she froze. A feeling of pure dread came over her. “Oh God no!” she gasped as she dashed towards the ship.

She could hear her heart in her ears as she ran through the empty halls, coming upon one of her worst nightmares in the living room.

Jet was unconscious, lying on the floor with a few bullet wounds in his arm, shoulder and legs. She could feel burning tears as she found Faye weeping over the limp form of her child, She was bleeding badly, but not fatally. Jack, seemed not so lucky.

“Faye…” she gasped.

Faye froze and looked up through her violet colored hair to the grey eyed woman. “She said that this was a message to you. That she’s going to finish what she started,” Faye choked.

Amaya growled, her eyes flashing silver. “Bitch will pay! I swear, Faye.”

Faye nodded. “I know she will. I’m going to help you.”

Amaya nodded. She was not one to deny a grieving mother revenge for her child. “Yes, you will. Now, where’s Spike and Ed?”

“Ed’s on Earth, with Ein. She’s safe. Spike…” Faye began, her voice trailing off as she looked back at the corpse of her child.

“Where’s Spike, Faye?” she asked as she kneeled and pulled the emerald eyed spitfire of a woman to face her.

“He’s… I think he’s in the hanger. She said she was going to prepare him for you.”

Amaya felt her heart stop and her blood run cold. “Stay here and call Vicious!” she shouted as she ran towards the hanger.

~*~*~*~

He was alive. Barely, but alive, nonetheless. He had been strung up so he’d look crucified in mid air, his hands suspended by thin wires that cut into his wrists. He had been stripped and appeared to have been violated, both physically and sexually. Amaya could remember weeping as she cut him down and caught his limp form. She had sat on the cold floor in the hanger, cradling his bloody and broken form, until Vicious and Sith showed up.

She remembered the look of horror in Vicious’ eyes as he saw Spike’s state. “What… who?” he managed to choke out.

“Julia,” she answered hoarsly, her voice raw from crying.

“But she’s dead,“ Sith stated.

“NO! That bitch isn’t dead! She tricked you all into thinking that!” Amaya snapped as her grip tightened on Spike’s form. “Who else would do this to him? Think about it!”

“Why would she?” Vicious asked.

“Because I had what she wanted and she wants to destroy me and all I care for. That and she’s an evil, cold-hearted bitch that I will personally torture to death!” Amaya growled.

“She will pay, but right now we need to help him,” Vicious said softly, attempting to calm her, this raging wolf.

“I knew you’d help. You could never hate him forever. He’s… he’s one of us. Only we can kill each other, only we can hurt one another. It was our pact,” Amaya whimpered as she turned to the unconscious face of her old friend.

“Faye will be moved to our apartment. Jet Black has been sent to the best hospital. The child… I reassured her that we wouldn’t make any arrangements without hers and Spike’s consent. He needs to be tended to, Amaya,” Vicious said.

Amaya nodded, her tears still falling as she rocked Spike slowly. “They… whoever was witr… tr… they raped him before or while they strung him up. I had to cut him down… Vicious… She has to pay for this!” she wailed as she buried her face in Spike’s shoulder.

Vicious turned towards a rumbling growl coming from Sith, who’s dark eyes were flashing violet, as they shimmered with unshed tears. He knew that Julia had gone too far. She had incurred the wrath of not only Amaya but himself and Sith as well. The blonde succubus had believed that she had destroyed the bond that they all had once shared, oh how she was mistaken.

‘She will pay,’ Vicious vowed as he and Sith helped Amaya carry the taller, boneless and broken man in her arms. ‘She’s crossed the wrong people this time!’

Julia laughed maniacally as she turned to the blonde chained to her bedroom floor. Angered blue eyes flashed at her as he lashed out at her. She then flicked her wrist, a black whip cracking down upon him, before she kicked him into a corner. His body was already dotted with healing wounds and bruises.

“How does that feel, Wraith? To know that you’ll never ser agr again, that you’ll never see your dear sister again?”

Wraith grunted and lifted his head to her. “What?”

“Sith, the psychotic homemaker with red hair. She’s your dear, lost, little sister,” Julia teased.

“S’not possible.”

Julia laughed again and snapped the whip over him again. “It is, I’ve never lied to you yet, have I?”

Wraith curled in on himself. “Shut up.”

Julia laughed. “Amaya will die, writhing in pain as all her dreams and cares are shattered. You’ll be last to die, and I’ll make sure she watches. You and that brat she bore! I will watch as she shatters and then she will die, by MY hand!”

Wraith shook his head. “She won’t fall under your tricks. She’s better than you!”

Julia scowled. “NO! I’M THE BEST! NOT HER! I’M THE FAVORITE, I’M THE BETTER WOMAN! NOT THAT WHORE! MY FAMILY SERVED THE VAN FOR GENERATIONS! MY FAMILY WAS THE FAVORITE! AND THEN SHE CAME ALONG! THIS DAUGHTER OF SOME ASSASSIN SCUM AND PET OF YENRAI! I’M BETTER! NOT HER!” she screamed as she punctuated each thought with a kick to Wraith’s ribs.

Wraith coughed up blood and then laughed. “You’re nothing compared to her. She’s ten times the woman you could ever dream of being. She and Sith!”

Julia’s eyes grew dangerous. “Never, EVER! Say that Sith is even near my capabilities. I’m far better than that undead tramp and Amaya! I’ll show you when I kill them! I’ll show them all for leaving me out of their little group.”

Levii: I freaking hate Julia. Hence why she\'s the real villian in this story. Usually, I try not to kill off characters, especially children, but not everyone gets to escape unscathed. It wouldn\'t be realistic if they did. I think it\'s funny though, Julia hurt Spike to drive them away, but inadvertantly brought thier little group back together. Ironic, eh? Oh, and poor Wraith. I love the char. but hI\'mI\'m an evil bi-ach. Lol. Anyways, Review and tell me yer thoughts.
