Sleep it is. Shun stretched, toes and fingers
pointing out as he spread himself back on his bed. "Maybe we'll
worry about it in the morning. I've got too much on my mind – I think
that I'll just go to bed." Hasukawa flashed him a smile and mumbled:
"Yeah, me too."
"G'night, Suka-chan,"
Shun said quietly as the desk lamp flicked off. He felt his buddy hop off
his bunk to get up to his own, the board above Shun creaking as Kazuya settled
into place. Shun grinned up, despite the knowledge that Hasukawa couldn't
see his radiant smile. Why smiling? Shun didn't have an answer, it
just felt like the right thing to do. It was Shun's way, after all.
Drifting off as sounds died down next door, Shinobu and
Mitsuru probably having reached a temporary resolve, Shun could only
concentrate on the light snores of Kazuya above. He shifted, another
creak floating around the room. A friend of whom Shun couldn't have asked
for more. And so that was all . . . he seemed happy.
And so it was. To be happy as is.
Maybe Hasukawa just wasn't for Shun in that way.
Reason sort of came back into perspective here as Shun lie on his bed. He
only seemed like the only one for Shun because the anxious roommate was the
virtually the only one he knew. By mere proximity and closeness to
Hasukawa, it could very well have been a psychological situation. Maybe
he really did love Kazuya-kun like a brother and just that! As his mind
calmed down, he realized that just as easily as he had worked himself into a
frenzy thinking he was gay, he could just as easily work himself out of it.
Hasukawa was great for sure, it's what friends were meant
to be.
