Boarding School Chapter 2
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I checked my watch. I should get some sleep before the plane lands in London. I tried to get comfortable and then I snoozed off into the dream world.
My mother looked into the mirror, happy of what she had found out. She is going to have a baby. She wanted to tell everyone, but she also wanted it to be a surprise at the wedding.
My mother and father were planning for the wedding. Both of my grandmothers were fighting over what wedding ring, would be used, because each of them had their mother’s wedding ring.
“Mother, stop it,” Serenity said. “I just can’t handle any of this right now.” She walked out of the room.
Both of my grandmothers, Nadia (my dad’s mother) and Lisa (my mom’s mother), looked at one another.
“What is wrong with her?” Nadia asked, “I guess the pressure of the wedding is getting to her.”
“I guess so too. But I think she is acting a bit funny. Wouldn’t you agree?” Lisa asked. She walked to the room where my mother left and heard her crying. “I don’t think it is the pressure of the wedding. I think it might be something else. Like she might be…”
Nadia eyes went wide. “You mean…” she pointed to the room.
Lisa nodded. “We are going to be grandmothers,” she said happily.
Nadia had a wide smile. “We better not tell anyone we know, because the first thing is the wedding.” (AN: Maybe you guys wondering why they know. Serenity is moody and then her mood changes to the crying mood that pregnant women have. I don’t know if the mood swings happen early, but they do in my story. Serenity is about three months pregnant.)
“Have you noticed my daughter has been sick lately? She had been throwing up every morning for the past 2 weeks,” my grandmother said to the other.
The day of the wedding came, and it was one of the coldest days ever in Liverpool, England. My mother was starting to show a bit, thanks to her pregnancy. Her dress was a bit tight, but she lived through it.
The wedding was beautiful and everything went according to plan. At the reception, my mother and father did everything a couple would do at a wedding: the tossing of the guarder belt, the tossing of the flowers, feeding each other, etc. I can go on and on.
My mother took my father outside where they could get come privacy.
“What’s wrong? Not having fun?” he asked while taking her hand.
Serenity shook her head. “No. I just wanted to tell you something before we are swamped with people calling us in,” she paused. “We are going to have a baby.”
My father was a bit shocked, but the shocked moment turned into a happy one.
He picked her up and swung her in a small circle. He put her down.
“Okay. Please don’t do that again. I’m trying not to get sick,” she joked.
“Sorry. Shall we go back my beautiful wife?” He held out his arm.
“We shall.” She grabbed his arm and they walked back indoors to the reception.
Six months later, I was born. The name they gave me is Serena Lyanna-Rose Williams. My mother decided to live in England with my father so he could continue teaching. She will take up a newspaper job in the London Times. When I was about the age of two, my parents had a fight about their relationship saying it wasn’t working.
My mother went to the door saying she was going for a drive, but not knowing it will be her last.
Serenity drove on a slicked highway, because of the rain. A large truck started to lose control. She tried to go around, bu was was too late. The truck hit her car causing her car to crash into a tree. Then the truck came and crashed on the backside of the car. Luckily someone saw the accident and called for help
My father was just putting me to bed when he received a phone call from the hospital about my mother and to come right away. When he got there, my grandparents (his mother and father) were there crying. He handed me to them. He went inside the room where the doctor was checking out my mother.
“Are you her husband?” the doctor asked.
“Yes, I am doctor. What happened to my wife?” my father asked worriedly.
“She was in an accident with her hitting a tree and a truck smashed behind her. I’m afraid she won’t be able to live long. She has internal bleeding that we’ve tired to stop. We did, but she has lost too much blood. She was bleeding for sometime, because it was hard for the paramedics to get her out of the car,” the doctor said. “She has 3 broken ribs and a broken leg. I’m still afraid that the bleeding will start again. I’m so sorry, sir.” He walked away.
Kenneth walked into the room and saw his wife lying in bed. He walked up to her and sat in a chair.
Serenity opened her eyes and turned her head slightly, because of the oxygen thing by her nose. (AN: I don’t know what it is.) She smiled, but you couldtell that she has tears in her eyes.
“The doctor told me what happened. I am so sorry. If we hadn’t gotten in that fight then you have would never gotten into that car crash,” my father said on the verge of tears.
My mother lifted her hand to his face. “You don’t have to be sorry. I know you didn’t mean to yell at me. The doctor told me I am going to die, and I am going to accept it,” she cried out.
“I hope you don’t have to go. I still need you in my life,” he said with tears falling from his eyes.
She stroked his face with her hand. “Promise me something? Promise me you’ll move on with your live. I want you to find love again. Take care of Serena; she needs you,” she whispered. “Remember… I… love… you…”
The last sound of life was just oneg beg beep from the machine. My father cried, because he lost his love.
A couple of weeks later we had the funeral for my mother. She was buried in a memorial cemetery in New York. It was my grandmother’s wish to bury her there.
Two years later, my father was in New York with my grandmother talking about my education. Both of them agreed that I would stay with her.
I woke up with tears in my eyes dreaming about my mother. I look out of the plane window again. ‘I guess we art tht there yet.’
The flight attendant came by. “Are you all right, dear?” she asked.
“I’m finhankhank you sai said back. She walked up the aisle again.
I tired to go back to sleep to think of more memories.
