Disclaimer: I still don\'t own Witch Hunter Robin. >< Which is a good thing for all you peoples, or else you\'d kill me between posts for leaving you with cliffhangers. For which I\'m infamous among my friends. I apologize now for any and all upcoming cliffhangers.

Chapter Three: No Pain, No Flame
A week after what had been deemed The Incident...
\"Keep going, Robin. You\'re not stopping until you finish the entire bar.\"
Green eyes narrowed at the dark blur at the opposite end of the rails. He\'d insisted on keeping the lights low in his apartment where he\'d set up the physical therapy equipment. It did nothing to help her sight, and it was on said equipment that she was currently sweating bullets.
\"Amon, I still don\'t understand why you won\'t just let me stay at the Clinic.\" She shifted her leg forward and took another step, wincing as her back twinged. A sharp pain stabbed down the back of her thigh.
Ignore it. Just keep moving.
\"I told you. I don\'t trust those nurses not to figure out what you are. You aren\'t exactly in control of your powers.\"
\"I have perfect control over my pow--\" She\'d taken another step, and frozen at the angry crunch her knee gave. With a gasp of pain, her legs crumbled, sending her scrambling with hands, and mind, for control.
Robin let out another cry, this one of dismay, when she saw Amon lunge forward to catch her. She felt her control over her power slip.
\"Amon NO!\" The small blast that bounced off his shoulder was nothing compared to the firestorm that immediately followed.
~*~
Shit> A> Amon knew the instant he heard her knee what was about to happen. A lunge and a dodging of the warning shot, and then he was tackling her to the ground, covering the girl\'s slight frame with his body and, most importantly, his coat. The Orbo pendant around his neck swung wildly, glowing a bright green that reflected off Robin\'s startled, panic-filled eyes.
\"Robin! Robin you have to stop!\"
The girl blinked up at him. \"What? OH!\"
The fire stopped sprouting up, but they were still effectively trapped under Amon\'s coat.
\"Don\'t move,\" Amon said warningly. Sweat was beginning to bead on his forehead.
Shards, Robin, did you have to wash your hair with that shampoo this morning?
\"I won\'t.\" But the girl shifted as her feet grew warm.
\"Robin, Don\'t Move.\" This time his woice was strained. His head lowered, forehead resting on the floor beside her ear.
The Craft user blinked in suprise. \"Amon, are you alright? You sound like you\'re having a hard time breathing. Is it the heat? I\'m sorry about fir fire...\"
\"Robin, your powers have been out of control since that night on the mountain. Don\'t apologize.\"
\"But your breathing...\"
A's e's eyes squeezed shut. Every little shift of her head sent a subtle waft of her scent at him.
\"It\'s your hair. It smells like roses.\" A slight turn of his head was all that was required to brush her hair with his nose. He inhaled deeply.
~*~
Robin\'s heart skipped a beat, vivid green eyes widening and focusing on the flames flickering all around them. She whimpered and ducked her face to his shoulder as a particularly hot spot flared up less than three feet away. Amon\'s arm instantly came up to shield her from the heat.
\"Amon--\"
Braced above her on hands and knees, he lifted his head, staring down at her with ebony black eyes that seemed to flicker in the light from the fire. The Orbo pendant around his neck was disturbingly calm.
\"Robin, would you do something for me?\"
\"Wh-what?\"
\"Take the pendant off.\"
Shaky, obedient hands lifted the chain from around his neck. Dark eyes closed in concentration.
\"Whatever you do, don\'t move.\"
She nodded, the pendant clutched in her small hand. Nothing, however, prepared her for what happened next.
At the same moment Amon\'s lips touched hers, theo flo flared to life.
~*~
A/N: Considered ending here, but figured I\'d want to live to see my 19th birthday, which is, btw, in 26 days. ^_^
~*~
The dark head lifted from Robin\'s. His eyebrows furrowed in a scowl, arms trembling as his breathing hitched and caught in his throat.
Robin gasped in shock and wonder as she saw his eyes.
They\'re... gray... and silver... like fireworks.
Amon flinched, then fell to her side with a cry of pain. \"R-Robin...\"
The low groan of pain grew into a wild keen, at which the flames started to die down. It seemed as if the heat was being sucked out of them. A minute, then two, until suddenly the flames completely disappeared in a low fog of cold air.
Robin waited until the fog was gone before she sat up, blinking as she took in the damage she had caused. Amon\'s apartment was in ruins. Even the stone floor and the brick walls were scorched.
\"Oh, Amon, I\'m sorry!\"
\"It\'s--alright.\"
She turned at the raw, abused edge of his voice. The familiar black eyes stared back at her from behind a curtain of strands of damp, black hair. They helped each other to the wall, where Robin leaned, and Amon sagged in exhaustion in her arms.
\"Are you okay?\"
A hoarse laugh was her reward. \"Hey, no pain, no flame.\"
