Chapter 3

"This is my cleavage. THIS is my cleavage in a wonder-bra!" Tohru gasped as she turned from one side to the other in the full-length mirror.
She hadn't realised how the bra had emphasized her breasts until she put on the tiny red oriental dress Ayame had created for her. She loved the satiny feel of it beneath her finger-tips and the embroided black dragons scattered over the material made it look perfect.

Tohru couldn't help giggling as she recalled Ayame praising himself for his perfection.
Yet, she was still uncertain of the slits on both sides of the design; she wouldn't have minded if they were small slits, but since the dress stopped at mid-thigh, the slits revealed a lot more than she wanted!

Pulling her hair into a top-knot, Tohru slid two black lacquered haired clasps into place. She had liked the way Ayame had made them look like chop-sticks with little delicate sea-horses dangling from the exposed ends--obviously it was his sense of humour shinning through.
Stepping back to glance at the completion of her transformation, Tohru decided she liked what reflected back.

Heg thg the door slide open, she quickly sprayed on her new perfume before picking up the fan Ayame had also created for her--complete with sea-horses.
It was time to put hean ian into action.

Hatori's heart was pounding.
Fear grabbed at him--he was afraid of Akito getting to Tohru--hurting her as much as he had indirectly hurt Kana.

Halfway down the path, ght ght from his own house had caught his attention; someone from inside the grounds was in HIS house!
'One thing I don't like, is people invading my privacy!'

Ever so slowly, Hatori slid the door open. Stepping inside as the light washed over him, the scent of incense assulted his senses.
'Tohru?' He wondered, though he had never known her to burn incense except at her mother's grave. 'Oh God, is it her mother's anniversary? Surely I didn't miss it--well not on purpose!'
A quick glance at the calendar next to him showed him it was still a good three weeks away.
Relieved, he put a hand to his brow. 'That still doesn't explain the incense. . .'

"Tohru?" He called out as he began to move away from the door.
No answer came.
Frowing, he tried again. "Tohru?"
Only silence replied.

Passing the open door to his traditional 'Nihon Tein' garden, he took a few steps back.
His heart stopped momentarily.
Standing before him, with her back to him; was Tohru. . .at least, he hoped it was her.

Swallowing hard, Hatori tried to get a hold on reality. He hadn't seen her in anything like what she was wearing--it was so short--barely covering anything.
It clung to her curves so perfectly, it didn't leave much to the imagination--except for the frontal view--he caught his breath as his whole body screamed for him to find out. . .now!
"Tohru?" He spoke her name one last time, his eyes narrowing; ready to lecture her for disappearing. . .he had to get his self-control back. . .somehow.

Slowly turning, Tohru brought down her splayed fan, revealing her ruby lacquered lips. "Hello Hatori." Her voice soft, she bowed in polietness.
Straightening up, she slowly opened her gem green eyes, showing the emotions of both happiness and myschief. "I hope you don't mind, I made you dinner. . .to say thankyou."

'Strangely enough, whatever I was thinking of just went right out the window,' Hatori thought as he drank in the way Tohru looked to him.
The frontal view of the Onigiri was just as pleasing as what he had seen only a moment ago--she was like eye-candy--his candy.
Even from where he stood, he could see her breasts straining against the material.
With his fingers itching to free them from the dress, he balled his hands into fists; his self-control was slipping away faster than he could restrain it.

'Red really suits her. She should wear that colour more often. . .are they dragons?'
He couldn't help but take in every single detail of her as he watched the light reflect from the material with each of her movements, making him want to find out if it was satin or silk.
Silently cursing her for making him feel long forgotten feelings, Hatori shifted his eyes elsewhere. Just the way she looked, made her so mature--so grown up--so. . .kissable.

"Hatori?"

Glancing back at the vision before him, Hatori polietly cleared his throat as he tried to pull his thoughts together. He had always been the cool, calm and collected one. The one never allowed to love or show his feelings; his duty to the Sohma's was to erase peoples memories. . .to be cold.
Tohru however, had managed to change all that. She had single handedly undermined Akito with the power of her words. . .though he still feared what Akito could do to her; there were other ways for Akito to get his way.
Most of all, she had melted his own icy heart--no one had reached out for him since he had lost love, shutting out his emotions--determind never to feel the agony of love and pain once more--but Tohru had shown him what he was missing out on. . .a painful pleasure whenever she was around.
He wondered if she knew it.

". . .Dinner?" He finally managed to force out. "Shigure and the others--even I--have been worried sick about you. . . and you were HERE all time. . .making dinner?"

Feeling hurt, Tohru could feel unshed tears begin to sting her eyes. "I. . .I'm sorry. It's just that. . ." She hung her head, blinking away tears. "It's just that I wanted to say thankyou because you're always around when I need you. . .when I need to talk to someone who wouldn't make jokes aughaugh at me. . .or even showed sympathy--because they thought I needed to hear it." Sniffing, she pushed on. "I know they mean well. . .but. . .but they're not like you and I. . .we understand one another. We've both shared the pain. . .the pain of losing someone you love. . ."

Taking in a shaky breath, she looked up and put a hand to her chest as she slightly leaned forward. "I wanted tonight to be so perfect. . .I. . .I even used all of my savings for it."
With the air thickening around her, Tohru felt as if she needed to get away. Everything she strived to do for Hatori--all her planning--had now crumbled into complete embarrassment.
"I. . .I should go."
Slowly edging forward until she couldn't bear to look upon the man before her--feeling her heart ache for him, but at the same time break--she broke into a flee.

Guilt washed over Hatori. 'Ouch. . .I guess I did come off a little too harsh; but damnit! She made me worry so much. . .if I lost her too, I'd go crazy with grief!'
Catching one of her wrists as she passed, Hatori lightly jerked her to a stop. "Don't."
His voice was barely a murmur, but strong enough for a sharp order. "Go ring Shigure. . .he's worried about you."

Lightly sniffing and wiping her eyes; Tohru tried to give a steady glare at the dragon. "You mean, y. . .you want me to stay?"

Giving a smile, Hatori slowly nodded.
Not only was he so certain she wouldn't wear something so revealing for him again, he was looking forward to one of her home cooked dinners!
He let her go.
