Gure's Soap

“I don’t like him at all” Kyo muttered to himself for the third time listening to Tohru’s nonstop chatter as dishes clattered with the occasional chuckle from Aya.
“I think you made that obvious a few days ago when he left here after dinner.” Shigure sighed placing his pencil behind his ear as he continued to scan the newspaper for research for his next book. He glanced at the carrot topped cat as he sulked with his traditional bottle of water sitting between his crossed legs. “I’m sure by now even he knows about how you feel about him. But you should know no matter how much you glare at a person’s head their head won’t blow up.” By now laughter from both Aya and Tohru erupted from the kitchen.
“I just wish above all else that they would just shut the hell up.” Kyo looked up finding Yuki standing in the doorway holding a basket of vegetables, freshly from his garden no less. “What the hell are you staring at?!?”
“Nothing much…” Yuki turned from his cousin and made his way into the kitchen. “Oh, Aya, you’re back again.”
“Yes, Yes…. I’m on break from school, and being back with Tohru I can’t stay away!” The young man’s voice just grated on Kyo’s ears.
“Kyo-Kun…” Shigure had that look on his face that he was up to no good.
“Whatever it is, no!”
“But Kyon-kun…” His voice even less enticing to whatever request he had.
“I said no!” Kyo stood and grabbed his bottle ready to make way of leaving the house.
“Oh! Aya, are you spending your birthday here this year?” Tohru’s voice made him pause momentarily
“That would be the double edge to coming home on break. There is no doubt in my mind my parents will be having a party for me whether I want it or not. Oh, Kyo-kun, I didn’t know you were here!” Aya sounded far too cheerful for someone to know how much he was disliked at the moment. “I didn’t feel your heavy eyes on the back of my head!”
“Huh?” Tohru looked between Aya and Kyo.
“Nothing Tohru-Chan. Oh! Listen, my darling. I want to take you out for tonight. Shigure-san, you don’t mind if I take your little wife out on the town?” Aya continued to smile and Shigure smiled back a large perverse smile.
“Only if you promise to not let any brute man-handle my wife.” Shigure draped his arm lazily over Tohru’s shoulder, with reasonable distance of course.
“Eh?!?” Tohru froze and Aya rolled his eyes obviously not amused.
“WHO ARE YOU CALLING LITTLE WIFE?!?” Kyo and Yuki punched Shigure and Kyo then turned on Aya.
“WHO ARE YOU CALLING HIS LITTLE WIFE?!?”
“I think it’s awfully irrelevant who’s made up fantasies I indulge with my sarcastic humor. I just wanna take my Tohru-Chan out!”
“Where are you guys going to?” Yuki looked at Aya, who forewent the hat for today, which Yuki silently agreed to be better since it was rare the young man didn’t have it.
“I want her to meet MY friends. Unfortunately they are mostly Otaku and were “stoked” when I said “home to Japan” and they wiped out their bank accounts to come.” Aya rubbed her head as if the thought of his friends alone are tiresome.
“What time should I be ready?” Tohru asked suddenly overjoyed by the fact that for the first time since Aya had gone to America she was meeting a piece of his life.
“Ah! You’re taking my Tohru-Chan out to meet boys?” Shigure feigned hurt. “Don’t cheat on me too badly!”
“Don’t worry; I’ve got them all under wraps. Would you like to come along?” Aya turned on Yuki and smiled eyes big and hopeful.
“Uh…” Yuki took a step back in shock looking into those grey eyes.
“Say you will!” Aya smiled bigger and more hopeful. While Yuki mulled over his answer, Shigure on the other hand smirked as if he found something new to watch… another character to his soap, so to speak. A good one too.
“Well…”
“If you’re too nervous you can invite the baka over there.” Aya jerked her thumb over her shoulder at Kyo.
“Oi…” Kyo glared.
“Well…” Yuki hesitated.
“No rush! You’ve got until tonight. I’ve got to get Going, Tohru!” Aya smiled and hugged Tohru for the millionth time. “I’ll be by before dinner.” she then bowed to Shigure. “Farewell.”
“See you!!” Shigure smiled happily waving his fan in one hand and his goodbye with the other. Kyo just huffed and went upstairs, in an obvious bad mood.
“Kyo-kun?” Tohru looked after him for a moment before her legs moved to follow him.
“I didn’t know you like boys Yuki!” Shigure laughed at the look of confusion on the young mans face. “What? Is Aya your first boy crush?!?” Shigure mock gasped at the mouse, who was now apprehending what that first statement was about.
“Must you be like that?”
“I’m just stating what I observed. A tongue-tied Yuki when gazing deeply into those brown eyes of Aya.”
“They’re Green…grey?…Green-grayish?” Yuki shook his head.
“I rest my case.”
“You exhaust me.” Yuki turned away from his cousin thoroughly flustered at what just unfolded here.
“Don’t be like that!!! Tell me what’s it like!!! Does your heart sing?” Shigure whined. “Are you at least going with them? I need someone to protect my Tohru-kun.” Shigure stifled his giggles as the mouse continued up to his room thoroughly annoyed.
Yuki has changed over the past few months, Shigure mused, much more expressive than he used to be. Rather than some creepy old man lurking in the back, keeping to himself, unsure of what’s ahead aside from darkness and death, he’s starting to act his age… really act his age. Not that pretending he had done when Tohru had entered their world early on. Even worst, Yuki had almost altogether stopped flirting with Tohru bringing his live-action soap to a dragging halt now that the romance was a line, no longer a triangle.
But finally there is hope!! Enter Aya! A dashing young man of enormous intelligence, who studies in America, but has come to woo their Tohru, so to speak. Aya with silky black hair and large green… grey? Grey-greenish?.. Whatever eyes that sparkle as he speaks has come to infuriate the jealous short tempered stupid cat, and sweep the soft spoken mouse off his feet. But alas! Will this Mouse yield so easily after years of heterosexuality behavior? Will the Cat finally get over himself and declare his love for their beloved Onigiri? And Gasp! Is it true that the dashing young man is… shall I say…female?!?
“Why are you laughing?” Yuki had come back downstairs finding his cousin resting on his knees laughing, in the very same manner he had laughed at Tohru upon finding she lived in a tent.
“N..nothing” Shigure continued to snicker. Oh yes, just the smell of the young lad(y) was enough for the dog to know instantly. It was far to soft for any boy, even Momiji had a manlier scent than her. But for Now Gure will keep quit and watch the romance and confusion unfold then record it all, and doctor it up with x-rated scenes and the like, in a future novel…. This is going to be good.
“Weirdo…”
XxXxXxXxXx
“You’re not really going with him are you?”
“Hmm?” Tohru had decided to let Kyo be and was now bringing in the laundry as the sun was now setting.
“With Aya…” He nearly choked on the name. “You’re not going to meet those boys?”
“Well, I trust Aya, so I trust Aya’s friends.” Tohru reasoned then nodded. “Would you like to come?”
“… yes…” Kyo added with a soft blush. If only because I don’t like that bastard…
