Temptation and Interuptions

She had nearly done it. By all that was holy she had wanted to do it. A member of her team was attacked by a low vampire and lay in her arms bleeding to death. He would turn ghoul if they did not truly kill him. His blood soaked into her shirt and her mouth itched to close about his throat but she put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger instead. She lay him down and looked at her commander who nodded then she fled into the night. She found herself standing outside the elevator that stood in front of the blackened remains of Helena’s home. She stared at the ruins and fought back the tears of confusion and longing. Something white flickered in her vision and a ghostly image on Helena stood before her.

“Come here child.”

She knelt before the ghost of Helena and felt the brush of a hand across her face.

“You fight needlessly. Alucard is not doing this to harm you. He wishes you to become all you should be. You can feed without truly harming the person you know. Or perhaps you didn’t.”

Seras stayed quite.

“Simply feed off them enough for you but not too much for them. While they sleep. They will know nothing and will wake a little weak but alive.”

Her eyes widened.

“I don’t think I can…”

Ghostly hands touched her lips.

“Peace Seras Victoria. You can do so when you are ready. Alucard is trying to be patient but he waits for you merely to feed.”

She nodded. Helena’s ghost smiled and then wavered to disappear. Once more Seras felt alone.

“Your not alone Fukee.”

She spun and saw Alucard behind her. She could not stand him calling her that anymore and lunched herself against him wrapping her arms around his waist. He seemed surprised but allowed her before placing his arms around her.

“Easy Seras. I told you. Until you no longer call me Master I shall call you that when you are not in my arms.”

She nodded and he pulled his cloak tight about them both.

Seras had no concept of time or place as she held onto her Master. But another set of eyes did. Integral stood outside in the gardens and looked up as something black flickered. She saw Alucard appear on the hill of the garden. Behind him an almost full moon rose. She was about to call out to him when his red eyes snapped up to pierce her gaze.

My Master. Leave us in peace for now.

She saw a flicker of blond hair within his cloak and turned to go the other direction. Two vampires. One dark, the other light, finding peace in each other arms in the moonlight. She wondered at the scene. She had seen Alucard so close to the edge of madness she felt he was mad. He sort peace with this woman. This woman who resisted. She didn’t know exactly what Alucard had meant when he said he had fed Victoria but she didn’t see it being pleasant if it left her in tears. Why was he so determined to make her a full vampire and why was Integral unsure within herself as to whether she was concerned about Seras Victoria becoming a ‘free’ vampire?

Alucard smirked feeling all the thoughts in the Lord of Hellsing’s head. She would see. They all would see when Seras fed and then God help any who crossed her. He would be there to fix it if they did. He laid his chin on Seras’s blond hair and stared blankly into the night. Soon. She was finding it harder and harder to resist. Her instincts were becoming stronger. With each time he fed her he was stifling the need to give her his own blood. Force her to be free. But he held back. She must make herself free. Only then will she truly see.

“Alucard.”

His eyes snapped back into focus not sure he had heard right. Seras had called him by his name. He felt her body going limp and realized she had slipped into sleep in his arms. This night had been hard for her. He cradled her close and let his mind continue to wander. She would feed soon. She could not avoid it for much longer. He damned Helena for interfering. This was not her business. Only his and Seras. He was watching Seras almost fade away. Her skin had become pale white. Soon her hair would begin to lose color. Then he would force her to take his blood. Only then. She had drunk the medical blood, once maybe twice and she had been a vampire nearly a year. It had taken him ten years maybe less to become weak. He remembered well his time caged. She was a new vampire; she had lasted long as it was. For the first time he wondered how old she was. 21 maybe. A good age to be turned. He had given her the choice. Asked her if she wished to come with him, be with him. She had given him a simple yes. That had been enough. He had at the time been triumphant. He would train her to be an equal to him. Stand by his side. But she had tried hard to stay as she was. He sneered when he thought of the Minister that had held her that night. He would have turned her too. Alucard counted himself blessed that she had not run into Vampire’s before then. She would never know him and without him knowing her he would have killed her as a lowly vampire. He wondered why Seras had such a pull on those of his race. Make them wish to have her, to turn her. It made him think of what might had happened had she said no. Would he have still shot through her then turned her anyway? He thought back to when he had first seen her. Trembling in fear standing before a ghoul. She had shot him. She had been able to shoot him because he was not human. A frightened kitten, but truly more then that, inside a lioness waiting to be freed. If the Priest hadn’t have gotten her would he have tracked her down anyway? He wasn’t sure but her bravery in accepting him in the church was what had made his mind fixate on her. He knew too the fear of her dieing. Even in his pleasure of finding a worthy opponent he had felt a shiver of it touch his spine when he turned, finding her trying to help him face the demon, risking herself to bring him bullets. Seeing her fall. Hearing Incognito saying he would violate her. He would not allow that again. She would feed. She would become strong. His arms unconsciously tightened about her and she moaned a sleepy protest. It broke his train of thoughts and he looked down at her before looking up to find the moon dipping low in the sky. He stepped back into the black fissure that opened behind him and appeared at the door to her room.

“You are not needed here Walter. Seras is mine to deal with as I wish.”

Walter stepped from the shadows his face devoid of emotion.

“Alucard, I believe Miss Victoria is her own woman. I merely check to see she is resting before sunlight touches the sky. She is too weak now to walk in it as she did before.”

Alucard dropped the edge of his glasses to study Walter over the edge with one eye.

“I am aware of this. It is however, not your concern.”

Walter bowed and left silently. Holding Seras up with one hand he opened the door with the other and entered the sparse room. She was still fast asleep and he would not wake her. Gently he laid her down on the bed. He went to step away and discovered her hand held tight in his shirt. A half smile lit his face as careful around her hand he removed his coat, hat, glasses and red tie. Finally in just his white shirt and black pants slid down to lay bedside her. Careful to not disturb her he unbuttoned her uniform and pulled it off glad when she loosened her hold so he could take it off all the way. She lay now in a small top that with slim straps stayed on her body and her skirt. She sighed deeply and he pulled her close and allowed the hood of the bed to close them both in.
