Baby Blues

Summary: Sakano can't get to sleep

Sakano strolled around the room cradling the precious bundle in his arms, bouncing her up and down a little to sooth her cries. Baby Yumi had been awake for around an hour now and Sakano had tried everything to get her to sleep. He fed her, burped her, changed her and everything else the baby book told him to try, and yet she still cried softly. “Hush now Yumi baby, don’t cry daddy’s here” he cooed gently. So far the producer had only had around 40 minutes sleep and had an early start the next morning. He really didn’t fancy falling asleep at the mixing desk in the studio…again.
Sakano moved over to the oversized rocking chair next to the French windows and sat down, rocking himself and the baby back and forth. Finally the child’s whimpers subsided and she cooed gently, reaching her chubby little hands up to try and grab at Sakanos hair.
“Sakano? Baby, are you still awake?” K popped his head round the door frame and Sakano smiled up at his lover. “Awww has my little girl been having problems sleeping” K crossed the room and knelt down beside the chair and peered into the blanketed bundle in Sakano arms. “Give her to me, I’ll get her to sleep”.
Sakano stood up and waited for K to take his place in the rocking chair before placing their daughter in his arms. “Thanks babe” he whispered and gave his lover a chaste kiss on the lips.
The light streaming through the blinds in the morning woke up Sakano before the alarm clock did. The producer cracked open and eye and looked at the LCD display, ah he still had 30 minutes before he needed to get up. He rolled over and reached out to snuggle into the back of his lover, only to find Ks side of the king sized bed empty. He dragged himself out of bed and picked up the housecoat from the floor to wrap around his semi naked body.
Sakano leaned against the doorframe of the nursery and watched his lover snoring gently in the rocking chair, their baby girl sleeping in the crook of his right arm. He tiptoed across the room and lifted the infant from the blondes arms to pop back into her cradle. Sakano then lifted the spare blanket that was folded at the bottom of the cradle and draped it over Ks body before slipping silently back out the room.
Just for today, K could be forgiven for not coming into work on time.
