The Lie Within- Kunimitsu Tezuka
Rating: G
Summary: A little lie never hurt anyone
A/N: contains hints of Tezu/Fuji
##
The Lie Within- Kunimitsu Tezuka
He remembers, as a child, being cuddled on his mother’s lap. Her sweet scent surrounding him, her gentle hand stroking through his hair and her soft voice lovingly praising him, “My good, perfect little man.”
He took that praise, those words, to heart, so much so, that he now feels trapped by the very image he created. The monster that he, himself, made.
Everyone who looks at him sees Tezuka, the exemplary student or Tezuka, the talented and trustworthy Captain of the Tennis Club. He doubts that anyone ever sees him as just plain Kunimitsu Tezuka.
Well, almost anyone.
Sometimes he thinks he sees a question in a pair of bright blue eyes. A slight curiosity in those unusual orbs that seem to wonder if there might be more beneath the reserved and distant mask that he wears.
He often asks himself, “Am I more than this?”
He wants to break from the chains of restrictions and propriety that he has bound himself with; to step away from everyone’s, his own included, expectations and do the reckless, the impulsive for once.
Most of all, he wants to know if he can answer at least one of those questions he sees in a pair of beautiful blue eyes, a question he can only answer by giving of himself. Here is his chance to be reckless, impulsive…to do as truly wants to for once.
Yet there is nothing more uncomfortably comfortable than a self-imposed prison, so he’ll go through his motions and be the Tezuka that everyone wants but one day…
One day he’ll be free to be Kunimitsu.
